Dined here for the first time over the weekend. The food was great. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer. I didn’t like the chips because they were fried to hard. The salsa was pretty good. For my entrée I ordered the fajitas trio which was great. The portion sizes were pretty good too. I ordered a strawberry margarita which was overly sweet and didn’t seem to have enough alcohol. The drink wasn’t bad, but I was expecting a bit more. Overall I would visit again.

The owner recommended restaurant. I went online and the food looked really good. I went on a weekday, server was friendly and made sure we were satusfied with everything. The piña colada was awesome and the lobster was my favorite part of the meal. I highly recommend Lucias!

Landed at the restaurant past 9PM for dinner… When I walked in, there was no other customer at the restaurant and hence got timely attention from the server. Nachos that was served were crisp but too thick for my liking… Salsa served with it was great… I ordered a Beef Enchilada which was pretty good — the quantity was more than sufficient for one person, plating was done well with a piece of Avocado on top of the salad and the Spanish Rice was very good as well… I opted for red sauce which meant that the dish was spicy enough. Place is done up well… Saw a note which said that gratuity is added by default for groups that have more than 4 members… Menu had pictures of food which were not very clear. If I have the craving to eat Mexican one more time during my stay here, may give it one more shot…

I’m not sure what this place is like when they have live music, but I’ve walked by and it looks like a party. Maybe I should check it out on a more festive night. I went during restaurant week with a friend and we were given very good service. Our appetizer was the most gourmet nachos that I have ever seen. However, my main course was a flop. I ordered this dish that resembled taquitos(I’m so sorry, I don’t remember what it’s called), because it was the gluten free option. The meat inside was very dry, and the side dishes weren’t that great, either. It was pretty«meh.» The margaritas were delicious, though, and the bartender, who was also our server, was incredibly sweet. I wish I could give this place more stars because the employees were truly wonderful. My dinner was just way too underwhelming to justify it, and the cost too high for me to consider giving it a second chance.

Oh dear… I’m sorry to say that this is not very good Mexican food. Though I am a bit of a Mexican food snob. I feel horrible giving a bad review but I have to keep it real. It’s a nice looking place but the staff was kind of aloof. The margaritas were okay. But I wouldn’t recommend it. :(

Living practically next door the Lucias, my friends and I expected this to be a regular spot for ‘rites. I’ve been inside exactly once, had to get my own menu and then my friends and I were ignored for a good ten minutes before we got up and moseyed down to Don Jose, where we received attention and service anyone who is looking to spend money deserves. The inside was super tacky, and I notice they use their small son to run items around the restaurant and from the restaurant portion to the bar, even at pretty late hours(he appears to be under 8 years old). I do not understand how people can stand to be inside this place. I’m in my apartment and can clearly hear all of the lyrics and music from the live performer they have every sunday night. It’s so loud i can hear it over my laptop at full volume. Definitely breaking the sound variance. I’ve been outside places with punk and other rock shows going on and its usually not this loud outside. Craziness. I’m sure they don’t have an entertainment license either, because you technically can’t on the Hill.

Great food. Plates, flavor and portions Are like from a 5 Star fine dining full service restaurant. Amazing. The service is good. They are helpful and wants to offer you a great experience.

In fairness, really more like a 2.5 star but not a 3 so I had to go with a 2. Food was interesting, unique and tasted pretty good but blasting music, thug security bouncers and constantly flashing LED bar lights are not our preferred atmosphere for Mexican food dining. Prices are also nearing double what you’d expect but then someone has to pay those bouncers. Possibly worth trying on an off hour if you don’t mind paying extra for an interesting not Tex-Mex variety of Mexican food. Hopefully owners will consider a change in format because they cook pretty well!

I will begin by saying the customer service was great. Very accommodating server. We tried their shrimp and beef tacos. The beef was decent, shrimp was mediocre. There were no beans and rice and the price was high(11 for 3 tacos and nothing else but radishes on the plate – not cool. $ 30 for two orders of taco and a beer???). The salsa and chips: chips good, salsa out of a can. Not spicy! Come on, if you’re going to represent Mexico spice it up! I will try this place one more time only because I want to believe there is one good Mexican restaurant on Fed Hill.

The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The woman who runs it here is crazy and irrational. Food sucks too.

This review is the reason Unilocal exists. I’ve been here several times. First time, it was ok at best. The owner lady is creepy, asks too many questions, and bought a phone from some dude who just walked in, instead of getting our food, which we received barely warm. Second visit, the quesadilla was dripping the most grease I’ve ever seen. Third visit, my girlfriend got the worst case of food poisoning, and had to leave the place. The flashing neon lights in this place are an instant migraine. All the décor looks like it was bought out of the 99 cent bin at I-party, except for the deer head licking itself. Everything is ridiculously overpriced, and not very good at all. All three visits, service was terrible, and the marguerites were weak and not even tasty. I really don’t believe any of the positive reviews of this horrid nightmare of a place, and will never go there again, especially when I can go to don Jose’s for an all around better time consistently. Avoid Lucia or end up with a headache, empty pockets, and an upset stomach to say the least.

In a town of(unsurprisingly) mediocre Mexican, I was so relieved to find Ristorante Lucia. I’m not Californian, but I’ve been to Mexico multiple times and my Californian friend enjoyed the restaurant; take my assessment of authenticity as you will. The atmosphere is great– vibrant music, colorful décor, lots of hispanic folks eating and at the bar(always a good sign); in all, the feel is homey and not commercial. The service was excellent, and there was a nice selection of daily specials, including seafood. Valet parking is free. The food was solid, obviously made fresh with quality ingredients. Beautiful presentation. Unlimited chips and fresh salsa, delicious enchiladas verdes, tasty and strong margaritas. A mix-up with my friend’s order was fixed quickly and efficiently, and with an apology. The enchiladas rojas had a really nice kick. 4 stars only because it lacks a couple of classic dishes, like enchiladas mole’.

Being from California I know Mexican food. It is true that I have not found one decent Mexican restaurant in Providence. Reading the reviews I was hopeful. I ordered takeout on a Saturday night. There was not one customer in the resturant at 7pm. Not a good sign. We ordered a carne asada burrito, cheese and chicken enchilada, mexican pizza, chips and salsa. The burrito was terrible. No asada seasoning. The meal was so bad that I had to throw out everything but the pizza. It was $ 50!!! This will go done as the worst meal I have ever had. DONOTGOHERE.

I’m rating a 3 because I think that Ristorante Lucia has potential. The chips were great — I really liked them. Had a bit of a communication issue when ordering — that part could definitely be improved. The taco platter comes with 3 tacos and you can choose from beef, chicken, and al pastor. I asked if I could get one of each — but that was met with a confused look and it was suggested that I just get the pastor — because it was described as a combination of beef & chicken. Well clearly I needed to have brushed up on my Spanish beforehand & I couldn’t remember what pastor meant — -but upon tasting it, I realized that pastor isn’t a combo of beef & chicken — but is actually pork. So, that was pretty disappointing and the pork had lots room for improvement — it wasn’t very tasty. The enchillada was okay, a bit salty, but something that I’d try ordering again along with exploring other items on their menu. I’m also surprised by the limited menu — but do note that there was a board of specials — just make sure to find it because it wasn’t mentioned — but it’s on the wall. So ultimately, potential, and a nice atmosphere, and it seems like the owners are really nice — so I do wish them the best.

A welcome addition to the restaurant selection of Atwells Ave, and I hope it lasts longer that the last restaurant to occupy this space. The highlights of this place are the owners, who are so welcoming and accommodating, and the homemade salsa — definitely some of the best in Providence. The rest of the food was okay, not great, but not bad, and the drinks were pretty good. The owner was nice enough to make a low sugar version of the Margarita for my friend, but it came out a little sour, but still nice to have someone try. The atmosphere is cute and comfy, but the music was a little loud for a restaurant atmosphere. I think they are still getting the kinks out of the system, and I look forward to trying it again, even if only for drinks and apps(chips and salsa for sure)

I’m surprised how basic the menu is here for being in such a competitive area of the city for restaurants. Although my fajita trio was very good. I don’t think it was worth 16.00. The presentation was basic. They can only make regulator margaritas. No strawberry mango or anything like that here. Although I had a good experience and the food good I don’t think it was worth the steep price. 9.00 for a basic margarita and 15+ for entrée… mehhh I’ve experienced better Mexican places that are equally as good for a fraction of that. They need to step up the level of creativity in the drink and dinner menu and lower the prices to get me to come back.

Great food and lovely atmosphere! Our server was very attentive. Chips and salsa were fresh and not too salty. The lobster quesadilla was awesome! Only negative comment would be that the bathrooms were dirty and supplies not working.

Its new, and they are still getting their feet under them, but the staff was gracious and friendly and the food had some of its own highlights. The Margaritas, though not listed at all on the menu, were worth the trip alone. Solidly made, fresh bright citrus flavors and top shelf tequila in a cold, cactus stemmed glass. What’s not to like. I wasn’t as enthralled with the chips as some of the other diners, it may be that I missed getting a fresh batch, but the accompanying dish of salsa had a surprisingly fiery bite. Just the way I like it, and way hotter than the standard fare. The Camerones Martini made a big fan out of me. Its an appetizer, not a drink as the name might imply, served in stemmed Martini glass. Small, fresh shelled Shrimp are layered over Mexican rice and dressed in the juice from a lemon. Something of a Mexican shrimp cocktail, and quite enjoyable. An entrée of Chicken Flautas were beautifully presented. Served drizzled with Sour Cream and shredded Lettuce, the fried tortilla wrapper had a very nice crunch, but the shredded Chicken filling was lifeless and dull. Tacos al Pastor were contrastingly served with great flavor, the chili rubbed Pork and fresh Cilantro showing well together. Unfortunately, the cubes of Pork still had a bit of a way to go before becoming soft and tender, and though cooked all of the way through, had a bit too much chew for my liking. There was talk about hosting a Mariachi Band Night. I am desperately hoping that it turns out to be true, sounds like a fun time to me.

Finally, some decent Mexican food in Providence! Ristorante Lucia just opened, and is well worth a visit. Everything is made fresh in house, and you can definitely tell they use quality ingredients. Even the margaritas were made one at a time and not from a gross mix. All the items we tried were top notch — enchiladas, carne asada, fajitas, chips and fresh salsa, pineapple sorbet — the pico de gallo and the refried beans are particularly tasty. The servers and cooks are willing to accommodate dietary issues, and can replace meat in tacos/enchiladas/etc with fresh veggies, beans, and or cheese.

The folks at the restaurant told me this is a new place. Apparently Café Longo used to be in this location. The name looks Italian, but it is definitely Mexican. The are just starting out, so the menu we got was, our waitress said, tentative. Nevertheless, the food was great. My wife had Carne Azada and I had Shrimp Don Julio. We loved both of them. I recommend anything with their Don Julio sauce, which is their own. The shrimp were local(from Warwick, they told me) and excellent. Give this new place a look.
