Providence Picture Frame

I used PPF to hang a large canvas in my foyer. Carl was fantastic. He’s super nice and extremely helpful with advice. I felt like I got so much more than just a picture hung in a tough spot. If you have a piece to hang in a difficult spot, or need someone with a good eye to give you some design perspective, Carl’s your guy! Oh, and he loves dogs too!

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Carl from Providence Picture Frame expertly hung seven pieces of art throughout my home. I was very reluctant to attempt measuring and hanging these pieces on my own. In just one hour Carl worked magic advising me of proper height and location and then executing. The end result is breathtaking. The customer service proffered was above and beyond– from scheduling to completion. If you have art to hang I recommend you take the worry out of the task and hire Providence Picture Frame. You will be delighted.

Terrible experience. I called ahead to ask if they could trim a mat for me because it was too big for the picture that I wanted framed. They said yes, so I drove over there and was told that they could not do that and a mat cut to my specifications would be $ 30. Not bad, but more than the couple bucks I thought I was going to spend!
But the main reason they get 1 star is that the primary woman working with short white hair was extremely rude. Not only to me, but also to the other woman who was helping me with my questions (who was actually very nice and sympathetic). It felt like I was not welcome there since I didn’t have an expensive piece of art to frame and did not want to spend a lot of money on the frame.
One star for the nice lady who helped me and the guy who greeted me, but otherwise, terrible feeling going in there and unclear expectations. I’d rather just order online with that kind of customer «service»

Great customer service! Everyone here is extremely helpful and friendly. We had a gift for my husband framed. It was expensive, but I was happy to support a local business.

This was my first time visiting Providence Picture Frame, but will certainly not be my last. What seemed like a last second «matting emergency» (Yes, I realize this is a bit dramatic) turned into a brilliant experience with a team of people willing to help and work towards a successful resolution that afternoon. I honestly can not say enough kind things about PPF. If you’re unsure where to turn with your framing projects, I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed by this rare gem in Providence!

Solid experience.
I have a beautiful silk screened print that is squarish and an odd size. It’s also not perfectly cut, so I knew it would be a bit hard to work with. I also only spent five dollars on it so I knew I didn’t want to spend that much on framing it.
I knew I was going to be a difficult customer all around.
I was quickly greeted by a gentleman working there and got to work picking out the perfect pieces to make a beautiful frame. He was able to match the matting perfectly to a deep purple that was in the print.
Truth be told the frame I created was out of my price range, especially because I have four other similar prints I want done to match. The sales worker was so cool about it when I told him there was no way I could go ahead with buying it. He was very understanding and offered me some tips on how I could mount the print myself to save some money.
The staff clearly believes that all customers should be treated well no matter how much they are spending. I can’t wait to go back and get supplies for my other prints.

When cleaning out my parents’ house, we found a hand painted photo of my mom as a little girl. It was in a nice beveled frame but there were pieces broken off. I brought it in to see if it could be reframed. You can’t find new frames like this anymore, so they recommended restoring the frame. I couldn’t be more pleased. If turned out perfect and was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I had a custom piece of artwork that I needed frame for work. I called PPF and they were able to print out the art and took time to show me a variety of mat and frame options until I was happy with the final choice. They were able to rush the frame to be completed in a very short deadline and when I noticed a mistake in my artwork– through no fault of theirs– they kindly reprinted and swapped the artwork for me.
Yes, their prices are more than Michael’s or one of the big box stores, but PPF is a local, family owned and operated shop that has been in business for 100 years or so. Their quality and customer service and attention to detail are unmatched.

Best customer service I’ve ever experienced!
I needed a painting to light on fire for a TV commercial, they actually helped me find the best material (canvas, watercolor, photo paper, etc) to burn and found frames that were a good deal for me.
They went above and beyond.

As good as it gets, truly. Providence picture frame is huge in size and offers endless combinations for framing and matting your work. Art, photos, or paintings, — whether you bought them, created them yourself, or commissioned them, are investments that mean something to you, so why would you go somewhere else when you can have the best?! Prov. Picture Frame has a friendly staff who are knowledgeable and they will help you pick the best matting & frame to compliment your pieces. To top it off the whole job will be done professionally and look so good that you could hang it in the Louvre!
Seriously, art is an investment and its meaningful so help it look its best by taking it to a place where the folks know what they’re doing and will treat it like a masterpiece.
*My husband and I have had quite a few pieces framed here and we would never consider going anywhere else as they are the best, top to bottom. Bonus: they host gallery shows and usually have some amazing stuff to look at; could be a cool outing for a group of friends or couples.

During a WaterFire last year, I purchased a print and wanted it framed. After some research, I settled on this company, and boy was I glad I did. They’re fantastic. Each review here is spot on. And they have such a beautiful selection of artwork to browse – totally fascinating.
Service is better than 5-​star. Quality, too. I’m very impressed and will absolutely return when I need further work.
A PVD gem.

Years ago I was told about Providence Picture frame because I needed to frame a picture. My experience then to my last trip a couple of days ago to purchase from the gallery have been outstanding! If you are updating your walls or need a gift this is the place for you. I always find more than I came for plus the staff are extremely helpful & seem to make it even easier to buy art.
Plan to spend enough time upstairs in the gallery this is not something you want to rush.

This place is truly professional offering a range of services with a touch of class and friendliness. They offer art, frames, framing services, plus a lethargic Weimaraner that is great company :)
Today, I went to pick up a glass and backing for a frame I picked up at Michael’s — no biggie. Since it was built for canvas, it did not have the prongs to hold in place the glass, picture, and backing. They were nice enough to do the prongs for free. Not only once, but twice… because the first setting got wiggly and fell out. The second time, they installed better and more secure placements. Now I can be assured it will be safe. They also offered a free hanging harness.
I will definitely go back in the future for any service needs that arise since my friend does a lot of screen printing.

These guys are the best in town — truly. Their work is truly impeccable, they’re extremely knowledgeable and they’re very friendly. They’re my go-​to framers, I’m very happy to report.
My mother gave me a lovely watercolor of Columbus Circle when I left NYC after having lived there for several years. It’s not a small painting at about 3×4′, so I knew it would be pricey to frame. Seeing as it’s a beautiful piece of art, I wanted to make sure it was preserved and framed properly. I took it to Providence Picture Frame, and they knew exactly what to do with it.
They aided me in selecting the best matting to bring out the subtle colors, the most elegant frame that was understated enough so as not to take away from the scene, and what type of glass to use. The glass is actually a very important issue — depending on where in your home you plan to hang something, UV light can damage the pigments. So, we went over all of that and I ended up with something really special.
Unfortunately, the old seashell and horsehair walls of my early 1900’s home didn’t want to hold up my new treasure, and one night I was startled awake by the sound of shattering glass. I ran to find my painting on the ground, surrounded by shards. Luckily, the frame remained almost entirely intact — it had been constructed to break apart in a certain way on impact, so I brought it back to PPF the next morning, and they were able to piece the frame back together, and even replaced the glass at a discount since I’d just paid for it. It looked new again.
Since then, I’ve been back several times. They have an entire section of pre-​fab frames, mats and glass so you can make your own for about half the price of custom framing. Nice!

We have used Providence Picture for our office on numerous occasions. The folks there are incredibly friendly and helpful. The company is on a pretty strict budget, and they helped us pick some fabulous pieces to fit the space and the cash constraints.
Carl, who came to hang the pictures, is a delight. His work was impecable, and he helped us move a few of our existing pieces. We have loved all our experiences with Providence Picture Frame.
