Everything from here is amazing. Would recommend fried clam strips and fried scallops! So yum

I’ve always ignored this place but am glad I tried it out. I assumed it was a usual seafood shack facing the street with no seating but they have a sorta hidden upstairs deck area with seating. The upstairs seating has a lot of umbrellas for shade and a cool garbage chute so you don’t have to carry your garbage downstairs. We got a lobster roll with nice sized chunks(lightly mayo-ed), also some guilty pleasure cheese fries(with that atomic orange cheese sauce), a footlong chili dog, and homemade iced teas. The two ladies manning the counter were super sweet. Will come back again

I love the older ladies working the window. One of them told me very seriously when I was deciding what to order, «Everything here is good.» And I think she must be right. I had a shrimp roll, which had fried shrimp(didn’t realize that when I ordered it), and it was really good. There was so much shrimp, it could probably be shared! Prices were great. I’d like to go back and try the lobster roll.

Awesome lobster roll for $ 13.95. Clam chowder good but better at Lobster Pot. I wondered why the lines were out into the street and found out why. Great food, reasonably priced.

Took my girl friend out for her first visit to Cape Cod Provincetown. She was having a great time in town. We finished the day with World famous Doughboys for the ride back to the cottage. Ordered 2 and went to eat on the ride. They were raw inside. Maybe an off day.

This is a walk up window with seating on the second floor. I ate here many times and never had a bad item. Fresh Fresh Fresh. Awesome clams, fish and chips and a really good lobster roll. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I was walking around Mt. Tabor park in Portland the other day and Provincetown came up. I was living in Boston 10 years ago or so and I went on Vacation there with my girlfriend at the time. We split the vacation in two. For my part, I chose Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island. For her part, she chose Provincetown, MA. Provincetown was okay. It was just(slightly) too gay. I estimate the gayness of the town was hovering at 90% at that time. I would have really been comfortable with about 85% gayness and no more. I’m sure it’s difficult for gay folks to live in a world that is seemingly 90% heterosexual, but I don’t expect them to give five stars to the hot dog stand at the Houston Astrodome that is probably 98%, excuse the expression, «straight.» Houston Astrodome is not gay enough for me actually. So if you can, residents and business owners, please just dial back the gayness of Provincetown ever so slightly so I can experience the optimum level of diversity for my comfort.

Not only do you get delicious and generous lobster and clam rolls, you get to order from the delightful old salts working the registers. They aren’t messing around.

My pops has been taking us to John’s since I was 5. Such good food and I love the people that work there. I remember when some of the ladies use to work at Silva’s, which I miss big time. John’s Fish sandwich is so good and huge, that is always my go to item. The Portuguese rice is so yummy, as is their onion rings. My wife loves their lobster roll, she claims that it is the best that she has ever had. Finally, every summer my family and I look forward to having their Fried Dough. Sooooo good!!! We have to have that at least once our time up there. Cannot wait to take my little guy there this year, to start a whole new generation loving John’s. He will not be able to eat there, since he will only be 8 months, but he will get to know them over the years.

On the advice of the locals, I wanted to stop here and try a lobster roll. Enjoyed it so much I drug the wife back again the next day to get another. She had a garden burger the first time and enjoyed it so much she ordered it again. Both times we ordered onion rings. Hands down, the best onion rings I have ever had in my life. Walk up window, cash only. The ladies behind the counter were pleasant and friendly. You can take your meal down to the beach, upstairs to their seating area, or use the benches adjacent. Going to try to figure out how to squeeze in one more stop before we leave!

I’m kinda pissed at Ptown right now, but John’s Footlong remains in my good graces. This is because the people who work the window(usually an older woman) do not fuck around, are not condescending and fake, and do serve up some quality seafood. I find the place totally charming in that rough New England way. I like that the lady explained where the ketchup and tartar sauce was to the person in front of me and then said, «same ta you, it’s ovah theyuh.» I’m serious, that’s the way to do it. No bullshit. I always get the fried whole clams, and they’re always the best. You get an enormous portion, so I recommend sharing. They’re not cheap, whole belly clams rarely are. I think they were about $ 23 this past time. For a crazy huge portion and fries(but why not go for the onion rings), I think that’s reasonable. The tartar sauce is homemade and good. I never eat the cole slaw because I don’t know, it’s not fried. They have a seating area with picnic tables upstairs. It can get a little crowded, but it’s nice to be able to people watch if you can get a seat close to the railing. Sometimes there are musicians playing over by the anchor, which is obviously a crapshoot. But you can usually see something memorable from up there. I’m into John’s. The only negative I can think of is that the fruit punch sucks.

There are few places that have great fried clams and this is one of them! It’s take out only and there are places to sit and eat nearby and also a seating area upstairs. Enjoy the summer!

I have been going to Jonny’s Footlong for years now. I go to either Jonny’s or Mojo’s. They each have equally good fried seafood. One big bonus is that Jonny’s has a cool roof deck upstairs and its a great place to escape the crowds and eat and a great view of the harbor too! Check out the trash chute! Its fun!

Clam chowder = very disappointing. Especially since it was my 2nd cup of the day and the first was a really good one at Lobster Pot. This one tasted bland and out of a can. Lobster roll = pretty good. I have to say the buttered bread roll is AWESOME. The lobster meat is encased in a large crisp lettuce leaf which was really good. My bf and I disagreed on the actual lobster meat. He thought it was too fishy tasting but I didn’t think so. I enjoyed this roll. Don’t think it is quite enough to come back for it though considering the abundance of other places to try in the area.

Got some perfectly acceptable french fries here to fill a craving. They hit the spot. Next time, I’ll try the fried dough. One artery-clogging food group at a time! I stopped here expecting greasy, sub-par food. Was pleasantly surprised that this was a step above that. My only complaint has nothing to do with the establishment itself, but with apparently illiterate customers who stand in front of the well-marked«pick up» window trying to place their order. Move it along people! There’s a process here.

This stand stands on the left as you approach Commercial Street from the pier. Service by the little old lady that tended our window was a bit slow, but the whole fried clams in our order were fat and hot, and the fries crispy and hot and tasty. The coleslaw was pretty standard and pretty good — like KFC in quality, but not in texture(KFC’s is in smaller bits), if you’ll take that as a compliment. You grab your own ketchup and tartar sauce on the side by pumping some into a little cup you get at the window. When we ordered, a whole fried clam plate with fries and cole slaw was about $ 22 plus change. There were a few tables upstairs for the convenience of their customers. We took one of the tables with an umbrella attached. The tables are a little close to one another, but it is a nice option.
