Mayflower café is really yummy but simple so the kids would enjoy the selection of meals. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with French fries and it was very very yummy

Used to love this place for the wicked-inexpensive varied menu. Alas, that was many years ago. Now it’s comparably-priced for the area, and I can’t blame them for that! But I think the décor and booths haven’t changed… Which I like. The olé caricatures of the locals from days gone-by still hang on the walls. The service was nice, the place was clean, the food was good. They still have some fun old-tyme desserts like rice pudding with raisins, but I miss the Boston Crème Pie! We’d go back if we were in a casual mood.

The menu was last updated by the pilgrims so the name is apt. The so called sirloin tips were likely in the freezer since then as well. How it is possible to fail to fry onions and mushrooms boggles. The talents of the waiters waitresses, friendly and attentive, Slavic in accent and yet as warm as Pacific Islanders, are pitifully lost in a labyrinth of indifferent cooking. pardon me while I take a moment to vomit.

Absolutely love this place. The food is great, and always served really hot. It’s reasonably priced and the portions are great. My favorite is the seafood casserole, but chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs are also fantastic. Love the ever present owner/bartender Donna and her cadre of excellent wait staffers. Not fancy with a real retro feel. We eat at the Mayflower a couple of times a week from the day it opens to the day it closes.

Stopped in for a late lunch after taking the trolley tour. The place was empty. Our table ordered the turkey sub, the chicken salad, a cheeseburger with fries, and the broiled seafood platter. The cheeseburger and fries turned out to be the only hit of the bunch. The turkey sub was a good size but it lacked taste and appeal. They toasted the sub as well which melted what little cheese was on there. There was plenty of chicken in the salad but it was bland. The portion was very generous. The broiled seafood platter wasn’t a big serving and came on a small plate. The scallops passed inspection. This place is located right on the main drag in town. The air conditioners were loud enough to be irritating. Wasn’t the cleanest place. Service was decent but waited to long for our food considering the place was almost empty.

The food may not be 5 stars but it has everything going for it. Great location, welcoming, family owned feeling, great waiters, kid friendly, and what I love best is the diverse menu. It’s the kind of menu that had so much variety that you could keep coming back for the next few days. The food was delicious for a very reasonable price. I would definitely suggest eating here if you’re not sure where to eat.

We stopped off here after doing a whale-watching cruise and had a good experience. The burger was tasty, but the fries weren’t crispy enough. My boyfriend had the chowder and enjoyed it. We got the garlic bread with cheese and it was incredible! Prices were reasonable, but the atmosphere wasn’t great.

Located in the heart of P’Town, the Mayflower looks like an old school seafood restaurant, but definitely has a «tourists eat here» feel. After our three hour whale watch, I could care less if I was eating at a Michelin starred restaurant or at a gas station, so we plopped down at the first place we saw. This was it. I got the chowder and the lobster roll. Other than the Portuguese stuffed sole, nothing else looked appetizing to me. The chowder was okay. It was very milky and thin, but had a decent number of clam bits. I couldn’t stop staring at all of the old school caricatures on the walls. You could tell from the amount of nose hairs on all of the portraits, that these were old school townies and fisherman types from days long past. Believe it or not, the lobster roll here was amazing. Soft bun, perfectly cooked lobster, not overly mayo’d. Thumbs up.

We went there last night and the food was terrible. Everything we had was really under average and especially wine. Never going back.

I’ve started my Ptown trip here for years with a bowl of clam chowder and steamers. This year, disappointed. I got exactly one dozen steamers for $ 10.99. Almost a dollar each. In years past they gave u a nice order of steamers. But I barely got started eating and I was done. Skimpy and disappointing.

I have been to the Mayflower many times over the years. Went recently and found it way overpriced. My son got the clam strip plate(17.99) and was still hungry. He said they were really good but the amount was disappointing. One of the kids ordered a veggie burger 11.99, that was lacking in taste. She sprinkled parm cheese on it, to help it along. Although the portion seemed to have decreased, I did enjoyed my chicken parm. 3 Adults and 2 kids with tip = $ 105 Next time we’ll stick to the pizza On a side note our waitress was very nice and very attentive

The best lobster roll in Ptown! I’ve tried them all and this is by far the best! I usually go here a few times every time I visit… Mmmmmmmmmm

Had the fried calamari and clam chowder. Was excited for some food here at Ptown, but due to being students, we ended up settling with Mayflower. Our server was really sweet, but unsure of what to do most of the time. The food is where it really gets me, though. The clam chowder had a perfect consistency, but definitely needed more spices. The fried calamari was subpar and was not flavorful enough for me to rave about.

There are lots of mediocre, over-priced places to eat in Provincetown. The Mayflower’s food may tend towards the mediocre, but its prices are fair, and to be fair about it, we enjoyed our lunch there. The clam chowder was pretty good, the club sandwich had lots of turkey and was well prepared, and the French fries were really crispy(and the serving size was large). Nothing exceptional here, but everything was quite edible. Our server did a good job: he was pleasant and quick. No one else in the place seemed to experience any difficulties with the wait staff, either. We know other Unilocalers haven’t been happy here, but we are happy to report we had no serious issues. You can certainly pay a lot more for a lot less around these parts.

Foul. Ghastly. Run for your lives! The worst food in Provincetown! …what did you expect for the advertised $ 10 lobster?! What a dump! The restaurant is extremely noisy, filled with families and foreign staff members that don’t speak English. Trying to order your meal is practically impossible, because the menu is filled with so many things and the waitstaff seems like they’ve never even seen it before. Want another drink? Too bad! Your waitress is nowhere to be found! Call her over! She puts her index finger up and continues to gab away to her girlfriends across the restaurant. Sex on the beach? Simple drink, right? I guess not. Owner behind the bar has a lousy attitude and an even worse ability to mix drinks. Her drink was CRAP! I asked for a sex on the beach, with a high shelf vodka and to go light on the peach schnapps. I was even paying the extra $ 4 not to have their well vodka — Burnetts! GROSS! …anyway, the drink comes over and is literally a glass of peach schnapps with a little garnishment. It was so sweet it burnt my throat! I had to send it back! I apologized to the waitress and she told me it was no problem. When she brought it back to the bar, the owner told her that I didn’t know what I was talking about and then decided she was going to repeat all of the ingredients. I’M INEARSHOT! Don’t call me an idiot! Anyway… I decided she wasn’t competent to mix a drink with more than 2 ingredients so I settled on a vodka cranberry. I then told the waitress I heard the owner’s less-than-respectful comments about me… to this she replied: «She’s just made because every drink she makes keeps getting sent back!» …well, I can tell you why! SHE is AWFUL at mixing drinks! She must have mixed it with water from a puddle out back! The food was despicable. My friends order a dish with mashed potatoes! INSTANTMASHEDPOTATOES! WHAT?! Who in their right mind would serve instant mashed potatoes at a restaurant? That is foul! The chicken was dryer than cousin Kathryn’s turkey dinner from Christmas Vacation! Everything that they served came served straight out of the microwave! Hot, hot, hot in the center and a lukewarm surface! Boxed Pasta. Jarred Sauce. Frozen Chicken. Frozen Steak. Frozen Meatballs. Frozen EVERYTHING. This is a family restaurant?! I wouldn’t bring my worst nightmare! Woof! The owner has since commented on my review. Several weeks later. Though his defense of his food is admirable, it is misplaced and pure evasion of the real problem. My friends read the comments made about the quality of the food written in his comment and it was beyond a hysterical joke. First and foremost, those mashed potatoes were instant, out-of-the-box, mush — and to call them anything else is a lie. I stand by my review and feel this food is better served on a styrofoam portioned tray as it is suited for a school cafeteria. After sampling your offerings, if you are truly hand-cutting your steaks and making those meatballs fresh daily, I suggest you reexamine the recipes and quality of the meat purchased. Thank you for your apology of the less than mediocre service provided by your bartender; her erroneous performance and treatment of guests was not acceptable. I wish you luck with future culinary delights, and I hope you take my review as constructive criticism to make the changes so desperately needed instead of defending something less than your best.

All weekend long I had been eating at all the tourist trap sort of restaurants. At the end of the weekend my family and I came in here for dinner after the fourth of July fireworks and was surprised it wasn’t more busy. Everyone raves about lobster rolls in cape cod, but the best thing I had was the Lobster Club sandwich here at the mayflower café. It was actual lobster perfection. Everything was buttery and fresh and just delectable. Not only was it WAY more affordable than all of the restaurants we had previously been to in Cape Cod, but also the most delicious. Definitely go here.

Decided to have lunch here on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Ordered the garlic bread with cheese for an App. There was plenty of cheese and garlic on the bread. A little strange that we had to cut the bread into pieces. Still excellent thou. We order a BLT with chips and a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a side order of onion rings. All were very good. The grilled chicken came with 2 pieces of chicken. The service was good and the food came out within minutes. I would stop by here again.
