This place was just«ok» the music is pretty decent… What I was kind of disappointed is that it isnt a place for lesbians now… its for everyone — Both times I went there were more straight couples then anything… And last thing I want in PTOWN is some horny sweaty guy eyeing me, and wanting to dance up close and personal while I am standing next to my wife…

This place is a nasty drug hang out… Reggae music blast until 1am… DONOTSTAYATTHEPILGRIMHOUSEABOVE! While looking for a member of management… i walked all over that place. and found it to be disgustingly dirty! Food on the kitchen and bar area that had been there for a LONGTIME! Do not go here. if you value your life and health!

I have never stayed at the inn; I have just been to the bar. The bartenders are friendly and the mixed drinks are strong. The bar is decorated nicely, with comfortable couches and pool tables. When I am in P-town I always make a point to stop in here. I also just wanted to make a point about language. If you are not sure about someones gender identity you can ask them what their preferred gender pronoun(he, she, either he or she, Ze, etc.) is. Using terms like he/she is offensive, it’s okay if your not sure but please ask.

On a trip to Boston, my friend Jen L.(who also wrote a review below, hi Jen!) and I decided to head to the Cape for the weekend; I couldn’t possibly leave Massachusetts without seeing THE gay resort on the East Coast. And our accommodations? When in Rome… we booked ourselves at a lesbian inn, of course. We walked into the downstairs bar: picture a straight girl in Marc Jacobs and a gay guy in Armani, both with humungous sunglasses, struggling with several pieces of luggage. I’ll always remember for the briefest moment it was like a record scratching on a kd lang CD and all the lesbians in the place looked up at the same time with the look of «Are you two *sure* you’re in the right place?» We walked up the stairs to the check in desk, where a transvestite, or intesex, or whatever started to find our reservation. And let me tell you, homeboy/girl had a little bit of an attitude on him/her; he/she refused to even look at me, and when I asked a legitimate question about finding a clothing boutique, he/she made a point to turn to Jen to give her the answer. Jerk/bitch. But whatever, we never dealt with him/her again. We got to the room, which I will concur was immaculate and had a large bathroom. A little cramped, but we weren’t there for the bedroom, so it was just fine. Downstairs back at the bar and pool tables, the lesbian chill in the air had thawed, and when we ordered drinks, we skipped the pretentious cocktails we usually get and had ourselves a beer. You know, to blend in. Everyone there was really sweet. Some of the lesbians had their dogs. Also like Jen mentioned, we eventually met a lesbian couple from the Deep South who had just tied the knot. It was an odd conversation to have, being from Texas, but I was so glad that we did. God, I want to live in a blue state. That was the only significant time we spent at Vixen, but it was memorable. If I were a lesbian(or like us, a fan of them), I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Awesome lesbo club/inn right in the thick of things in P-town. I will second Bryan S.‘s comment that they are kind to everyone, queens and straight people included. We got an amazing deal — I want to say it was around $ 80/night for an immaculate room with a double bed and a huge bathroom. The downstairs area is nice — has a bar, some pool tables and couches. We met some nice lesbians from the Deep South who had journeyed to MA to get married(awww, so sweet) and had a few beers with them. The downstairs area gets pretty loud as the evening goes on, but who comes here to sleep anyway? The only downside is the abysmal parking situation that plagues so much of P-town, but there was a lot a few blocks away that wasn’t too expensive.

The place gets good ratings for the pool tables, expansive dance floor, and wine bar upstairs that suits everyone’s tastes. If you want it they likely have it at vixen.

Vixen is basically a mini-resort for lesbians in Ptown. What I especially like about this place is that they are warm and welcoming to everyone — not just the womyn. The rooms are clean and comfortable and open year round. The lounge has 2 pool tables, board games, etc. — great place to chill during the day. The dance club, eh, not for me. They have also added a wine bar upstairs that looks very nice, I haven’t been there yet. My posse tends to include gay men, gay womyn and our straight friends, so Vixen is a good find where we can all enjoy a night out together.
