Tom runs a very special store in town. Wa offers everyone with an eclectic mix of exotic treasures from all around the world. The staff is friendly and very willing to provide information. There are a variety of price points, but do not expect to get out of the store without leaving behind some dollars. Great store for gifts and self purchases. Love this store.

Beautiful but unless you can carry it home, don’t buy it. While visiting from NY on vacation my boyfriend & I couldn’t resist ordering a piece of furniture from Wa. The staff were so friendly & kind that we decided to order it through them as opposed to using an online store where we could have gotten it cheaper. The chair was on back order but we were told November. In November we called & were informed it was again on back order till early December. Again, in early December we called & it was back ordered till mid December. Mid December came & we received the joyous news that the chair was about to be shipped using that amazing company(Home Direct USA). We waited two weeks and heard nothing so the calls to the shipping company began. Stage 1: Denied that the piece had been released from the warehouse. Stage 2: Admit that you had the piece all along but claim the piece was now sitting in customs waiting to be cleared. Stage 3: Claim that the item has been released from the warehouse & has been moved to the local distribution center whom I should hear from shortly. Stage 4: Admit you have no idea where the piece currently is and you’re searching for it as you give«deadlines» that are moved further into the future with each call. Each stage took about a week to move the shipping company through. Wa’s response during all of this time was to state their astonishment, make a few calls & promise that we would not be forgotten before closing down for the season & no longer responding to our calls or emails. At this point it’s been 3 months since we were supposed to have received my order. They took our money in August & not once since have I heard anything but an excuse.

Great, unique place in the heart of Ptown. Always love to check the Zen garden in the back and all of the offerings inside. Love the framed insects — so cool!

If I could, I would buy everything in that store. I know for sure that the merchandise is marked up beyond beleaf. If you are into buddahs, indonesian art, wood crafted oriental inspired… its right up your ally… I usually frequent there for my esteban aromas. Now i found out that they mark up the prices on those too. I have no use for this store anymore, they are robbing me and everyone else blind. I can find the furniture cheaper here, in NYC and I can order Esteban directly from the website for cheaper and get free gifts. Peace out WA

So if you have thousands of dollars to spend in the COOLEST, earthy crunchy/worldly/eclectic/feng shui-warm and fuzzy-feeling zen store… Wa is the place to come to. I absolutely LOVE this place, and I really wish I had the Benjamins to decorate every room in my condo here and live happily ever after. Along with the designers from the US, they have lots of décor from Asia that I love. *Disclaimer* A huge run-on sentence is coming up. If you are an English teacher you may want to stop reading my review… The type of stuff they sell here is the type of stuff you would bring back from your travels if you spotted that one amazing find that you couldn’t live without, but couldn’t fit in your suitcase, and was too expensive to mail home, so you decide you need to carry it on the plane, and then once you get it through security and on the plane you realize that you’ve come this far with it, so you can’t put it up above in the bag storage area, or under the seat, because, what if it breaks… so you hold it on your lap and now are kind of pissed that you didn’t just spend the money to mail it, but now you’re committed, so you are sure as hell to make sure it safely gets off the plane, through customs, and safely home with you without damage. This is what they sell at Wa, so save yourself the hassle, and just buy it here. Damn… I think in my rambling I just uncovered why their shi* is so expensive! So worth it now, riiiight? You will love everything here, so if you make the trip all the way out to the end of Massachusetts, then you better be damn sure you bring lots of money and spend it all here. You’re welcome.

Beautiful, inspiring garden. Nice things, very expensive. For me, overpriced.

There’s always something in here that makes me go «oooh!» And then, «Wow, that’s expensive!» The owner of this shop has a great eye for merchandise, that’s for sure. Don’t miss the garden out back(walk along the path on the left side of the building). Wish this was our backyard… I need a little more zen.

Wa is supposed to mean«harmony» in Japanese… this place has wonderful central and Eastern Asian décor for one’s home. Proprietor and buyer has a sharp eye; very unique finds attached to equally unique, high prices. Some of the things they sell with Chinese characters on them — the actual ‘li’ and stroked/balance of the words are super shoddy and poorly written. Shame… but I suppose the average eye wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Large, stately vases, bowls, lion replicas of the Imperial palace, sake sets — -you get the gist. Your home would be beautified with anything here — truly. In cute P’town.

I love this place. It is always filled with interesting items. Some of the prices seem to be a bit wonky, but it make me wish that I was wealthy so that I could just go on a buying frenzy. Take some time away from your stroll down Commercial Street to meander around the garden in the back, it is a nice calming break in your day.

this place exudes a few characteristics for me style — though my bordello in Cambridge isn’t tweaked out in a bunch of Asian décor, I do appreciate the simple lines that a lot of this stuff has — and I can say that I have made a few purchases here that I have been completely satisfied with when I got them back home calm — the music and the incense and the back yard zen-ish garden are a nice respite from the zaniness from Commercial St steps away anger — the mark-up on some of these things, as compared to seeing the same thing on one of my trips just blows my mind. sure, delivery, tarriffs, and P*town rents contribute to this, so I don’t fault them — but I feel like I could make a great living if I just brought a spare suitcase everytime I travelled. note to self. stores like this can be kitschy or Disney-fied, or just plain weird — this one is light years from any of that.

Besides lots of lovely, frivolous, expensive things with which to overstuff your home, this place has furniture I swoon over every time I go there, every time something new. The best were the giant chocolate leather couch(big enough to sleep two people) with hardwood legs and the copper-topped teak kitchen table with matching chairs. I need that table. I have dreams about it still. Also, the owner and everyone who works there are so insanely hip, yet genuinely friendly once you speak to them, it’s shocking.

I’m not usually a fan of Asian aesthetics but this shop has such an awesome selection of home goods. My favorites were the insects framed in shadow boxes or matted in frames, so amazing. The staff was soo very friendly, knowledge, and helpful.

The zen garden behind the store is absolutely gorgeous. You have to check it out. It’s incredible to visit such an oasis of tranquility so close to Commercial Street. Even if you’re not into Buddhism, and aren’t really sure what Zen means(aherm, not that I don’t know), it’s still beautiful and peaceful, the perfect respite from the crowds and strollers. My favorite was the koi pond, but that wasn’t for sale. Oh yeah, so there’s a store associated with the garden too. The stuff in the garden is for sale too, but the store has more everyday luxuries like candles and decorative items. If you’re into Asian stuff, this place has an excellent selection. Check it out next time you’re in town.

Zen. Style. Perfection. This Asian inspired(but not limited) homewares /gift store offers a fine selection of home furnishings, candles, decorations, garden furniture, buddas in every shape and size. They just built a lovely zen garden behind the store(open to the public!) to display some of their wares. Top notch service with a smile.
