Obsessed! There aren’t enough words to describe how good it is. Lunch time– get the goat burger! Dinner– everything! Their sweet potato fries are unreal!

Definitely a must eat in Provo. To start the atmosphere is very bright and beautiful. The restaurant is small, so I wouldn’t suggest going there with a big group. The tables were very clean and each table had a small little flower on it which was adorable. The service was one of the best things. The server I had was nicely dressed and was very educated on the menu. He knew all the specials, and was able to promote them properly. He was able to suggest a lot of good options. The food was delicious. Very flavorful. I got the Bleu Burger and the Nachos(special for the day). The burger was so so so good. The grilled onions gave it a nice sweet element; which tasted great with the bacon and Bleu cheese. Also the sweet potato fries are a must. They were packed with flavor and had an amazing texture throughout. The nachos were good. I only had a few bites but what I had was good. The guacamole on top was very refreshing. The nachos had a nice kick of spicy. Overall great restaurants!

The food here is really great! Realize they are serving southwestern food and to elevate it to the level that they are is pretty impressive. We had the Buffalo Nickel Burger w/fries and Hog Jowl Tacos. Buffalo burger was perfect. Literally no complaint at all. Fries were great too. Hog Jowl Tacos we weren’t impressed by, but we’re still good. My wife’s heritage hails from Mexico so it’s hard to ‘WOW’ us with tacos. But they were good and fresh. Pink Cactus lemonade was surprisingly great. Service was fine and we loved the interior. 4 ½ stars, but we rounded up.

Green Chile Frites with and egg on top…½ pound burgers wrapped in delicious flatbread… and Navajo tacos«so fresh you’ll freak». My only regret was not having enough room for the Posole soup.

Cool selection and definitely a break from the norm. Navajo tacos were tasty. Not sure if it was on purpose or if the server had a difficult medical condition but he kept farting near or around around us and it made for a rather unpleasant experience.

This place is pricey, but worth it. The green chile Navajo taco was packed full of flavor. They use the freshest ingredients. Also a very nice environment. Wait time can be a little long, but overall a very good experience.

This is, by far, the best meal I’ve had in Provo. Better than most places through my travels. Nice friendly staff.

Black Sheep Café is a restaurant you shouldn’t go to unless you are prepared to spend more than usual on a meal. The atmosphere is casual but bordering on a bit fancier. It fills up quickly and a lot of people have mentioned wait times but I’ve always got in right away. Something really annoying to me is the fact that they won’t let you make a reservation unless it’s a party of six or more, which has deterred me from coming more than once. Once we were seated we ordered the cactus lemonade which is 6 $ for a glass bottle for the table. The lemonade is good, and all made in house. My favorite appetizer to order are the Frites(8 $) which are fries with green chile sauce, cheese, and green onions. They are DELICIOUS but just a small appetizer. For the main course we ordered green chile Navajo taco(18 $), a red chile Navajo taco(18 $), green chile stew(12 $) and their specialty hog jowl tacos(20 $). I had been once before at lunch and ordered a bbq pork Navajo taco(13 $) and was much more impressed with that. The problem with Black Sheep Café is that you need to come during lunch. The Navajo tacos at dinner are 5 $ more then they are at lunch. At dinner they do add rice and beans, but they’re missable. The lunch portions are much bigger and cheaper. Out of all the tacos my favorite was the barbecue pork taco which actually had a bit of heat, and is not on the dinner menu. The other Navajo tacos were good, but passable. Something I can say is that the pork is wonderfully tender, always. If you are dying to eat at an overpriced restaurant with a cool atmosphere, Black Sheep Café is for you. The food is good but not quite worth the price. It’s definitely worth trying once! Just go at lunchtime, and save yourself a lot of money. Plus yay for bigger portion sizes!

Decided to try something new today. We had an enjoyable lunch. The staff was very friendly. Our server explained the food style as Southwestern with a bit of Native American influence from their chefs. I had the Nachos and the Chimi-Relleno which the typical Mexican dishes did have a unique twist. We definitely loved the Cactus Pear Lemonade! Next time I’ll try the Navajo taco.

Went in today for lunch. Portions way too small. Price way too high for what you got. Environment too cold. Service very slow. But the small portion tasted great. But had to go to another restaurant to get enough food to fill me up. Because the incremental prices were too high.

This place was highly recommended. I wasn’t very impressed. The bruschetta was OK. And ended up being my favorite of the evening. My husband got a «chimi-relleno» which was a deep-fried chili relleno. It had some chicken a tiny piece of chili no cheese. The rice and beans were not that great. I had the shrimp and polenta appetizer which featured exactly 2 pieces of shrimp. The service was very slow.

One of my new favorites from the first step in the door. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. The wait was a bit long since there were 3 tables open. But it’s a small space and not overly staffed. But the food was amazing and fresh. I got the green chili Navajo Taco and forced myself to eat the whole thing cause it was so yummy. Also the grilled zucchini squash was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The cactus lemonade was sooooooo delicious. I am a lemonade girl and it’s at the top of my list! I will definitely be returning. A lot.

I ordered a burger with blue cheese in it, and it was great :) !! I love their thick sweet potato fries! It is the best. The servers are super kind, and I love their service. Great place for a date! I will go there for dinner next time.

This is one of my favorite places on Provo. Great food, good service, and good view of downtown. I really recommend you try their green chile fries. They are soft yet mild spicy and with some source cream. Good stuff.

Black Sheep is currently my favorite restaurant in the Orem/Provo area. My husband and I are split on whether this title belongs to Oteo or Black Sheep, but I have to give it to Black Sheep for consistency and for great drinks. We’ve eaten here several times now, and the dishes are always exactly as I remember them, and excellent. Service here is usually perfect, sometimes with a wait for a table and sometimes not. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, with a bustling kitchen, tables spaced properly, and a nice view onto University Avenue. I don’t usually notice the music they’re playing, which is a good thing. There’s a nicely priced beer menu, and some more expensive cocktails; the cactus pear margarita is worth the money. We’ve tried the green chile fries, pozole, green chile stew, chimichanga/relleno dish(I can’t remember what they call this), and the Navajo tacos. My favorite dish is the pozole with frybread. It’s a smoky, slightly spicy pozole with big pieces of perfectly cooked pork. The green chile stew has delicious root vegetables and is a little healthier-tasting. My husband isn’t a huge fan on the Navajo tacos because of some of the Americanized toppings(black olives and lettuce), but I like them. I keep coming back to the pozole, though! My one complaint is pricing. Dinner here is expensive. Lunch is priced much more reasonably, and I wish that dinner prices were the same. The food is excellent, but the first time I saw a $ 19 hamburger in Provo, Utah, I actually laughed. In my opinion, nothing on the menu should run more than $ 14 or $ 15.

Great restaurant with a novel menu What you can expect: A fusion of experience starting with Italian options for small plates and ending with a Mexican and Native American fusion entrée What is unique: vinaigrette and lemon that has cactus infused into it and it seems to work Food: Tastes great especially their squash soup is amazing and is a must have and seems to pair well with their in house black sheep salad. Pros: Awesome service which contributed in a big way to my 5 stars coupled with good food and a casual dining experience surely has the ingredients for a winner. Con: Pricing is on higher side so go with some junk in your trunk(I meant money in your wallet). No dessert option on the menu. Suggestions: if you are planning on going for dinner on a Tuesday, do go early as they have a Tapas Tuesday night where they have partnered with BYU and trust me around 9 pm it gets crazy crowded and every staff gets super busy tending to this big crowd, so you might find yourself waiting that extra longer time. Also due to credo to space ratio it can get pretty stuffy pretty quick on the inside.

This is actually more like 4.5 stars, but that isn’t a possibility so I’m giving them a straight up 5 due to our fantastic experience. We arrived when it opened(5:30) with no reservations and 6 people lined up in front of us. We were in and out in an hour. Kathrine(Kat) was our server and she did a fantastic job. She always kept us informed and had great recommendations. We had the cactus pear lemonade which was fantastic and not too sweet! It was almost like you were drinking really yummy water, very light. To start my husband and I shared the black sheep wedge. It was delicious! We also shared the Navajo tacos and buffalo burger. Both were yummy and crazy fresh! It depends on what I’m in the mood for but at that time I preferred the buffalo burger. I would absolutely order both again. Very creative menu, great presentation, super fresh, and yummy. Awesome service. Only negative was that the pretzel bun was dry. The bun fell apart or got very soggy. That’s the half star off if I could. And I can understand how it could get really backed up and take a long time if you go on a really busy night.

Walking in to the restaurant I didn’t know what to expect. Sophie, the stewardess, was very helpful with her recommendations and was very kind. The wait wasn’t too bad at all, especially since we showed up about 6:30. The waitress Kirstie was super cool, and in my opinion went above and beyond what was expected. The cactus pear lemonade is really good. Highly recommend it. I ordered the braised pork chimichanga. It took a half hour to get my food which I felt was pretty long. The first bite I got a mouth full of pork fat. Overall it was pretty good though. I tried some of the buffalo nickel burger. It was a little overpowering. The fries were really good but I didn’t like the sweet potato fries. Overall I would give the service a 5 star but the food a 3 star since it took so long and the price was a little high. So I settled for 4 stars.

For me, Black Sheep Café is a Godsend. Living in Provo Utah the selection of non-chain, high quality restaurants, is extremely limited. When someone asks me what are good restaurants in Provo, there are really only two that come to mind. Communal, and Black Sheep. I have tried every item on the menu at blacksheep over the last 4 or 5 times that I have been here. I can honestly say that every single menu item is delicious. My personal favorite — the filet with the cabernet reduction sauce served with a side of parmesan mashed potatoes that are to die for. IMPORTANT — if you are coming here for a quick bite, DONOTCOMEHERE. I usually come here when I have an entire evening to spend on good food, and good company. In all of the times that I have been here(regardless of the night of the week) I have never been in an out in under 2 hours. Honestly, I think the hosting and waiting staff could step up their game a little bit. It is hit or miss — some of the staff are phenomenal but some just have no idea what is going on. This place gets super busy on fridays also, so try and get a reservation or you will not get in. The chimichanga is delicious, the fries starter, the navajo tacos, everything is good. My recommendation is order whatever you think looks best, because it doesn’t matter. I have tried every dish and they are all very very very good. Don’t forget to order a bottle of the cactus lemonade as well — very refreshing. Bottom Line — average service with incredible food. Come for the food and the experience, and plan on spending a while here. It isn’t a bad thing, it’s just the way it is.

ummm… another one of those, WEREREALLYUNIQUEANDCOOLANDWEOWNYOUMOTHER *******. I was going to give a 4(this is like a 3.5 for me) until two people who came in to be seated were not helped for about 10 minutes and they left. I thought dub step TF. There was eye contact made with staff… but the two people were just ignored… they werent even that busy! i mean… there were 3 two-seater tables available, and 3 four-seater tables available… and we waited 15 minutes to be seated. I am still so confused.(total of maybe 16 tables there?) Um the food was pretty good, a little less quality than price. I got the navajo taco for 13 dolares it was… good?(im ron burgundy?) it had a nice little taste dance in my mouth but i wasnt like I NEEDMORE! because i didnt. The green chili fries were the highlight of my experience. I don’t know what it was… perhaps how easy it would be to prepare for myself at my house… but it was good. I wanted more so… extra points to BSC. The price of the 2 entrees, and fries was(with 18% tip) $ 44. So… i dont know… 44 dollars… do you know how many bdub wings that buys on tues and thurs??? 73.3333 wings. THINKABOUTTHAT!!! THEVERDICT: Just another one of those hey… we have a weird menu… we are near center street… and we cost a lot of money… so bring your college debt with you and bring your date and hey lets have a good time! I would say try it once… and maybe not again… if you do go again… you fit a stereotype. but a sexy one.
