A gem in Provo. The owner has a passion for chocolate that is other worldly. I had the ice cream with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and it was probably one of the best things I have ever tasted. You get the feeling that Taste is one of those places that one day you will say«I was there at the beginning when it was just a small little shop in Provo.»

I came here over a year ago on their opening night. Since it was opening night we were able to try some chocolates and oils and they were really delicious. You could tell that the staff had a great appreciation for chocolate and they definitely made me feel that same appreciation. Now you can do different tasting events that come in a variety of price ranges, awesome for date night! I also came here on a tour through my school and the workers were very accommodating. They told us all about the process of making chocolate and we tried their in house chocolate, Madagascar. I then brought my husband here for a treat the other day. I had the vanilla ice cream taste style, which comes with strawberries, lemon or tangerine olive oil, and a super delicious balsamic. It may sound weird, but man was it delicious. They don’t give you a ton, but it was really rich, so still plenty.

Attended a tasting there, and was impressed by the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Small(they’re no Caputos) but high quality selection of chocolate, and I loved their oils and vinegars. Excited to see how their business and selections grow.

Cutest little place off university avenue. Had a agirls night out there and we just walked in. Called a couple times before because we didn’t know if we needed to make reservations but no one answered. We get there and there’s a large group doing chocolate tastings but the restaurant is still open during the tasting with their full desert menu. If you want to do chocolate tastings you need appointment though. Well, we were very pleased with our deserts though. We ordered each a crock Monsieur to start off which is the only savory item on the menu and it is so cheesy and delicious but keep in mind that the place is called TASTE for a reason. Their portion sizes are very small. We also ordered a molten chocolate cake with side of ice cream, a smore, European sipping chocolate, iced chocolate and gourmet vanilla ice cream served with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and strawberries. I know the combo sounds different but somehow it all works together and makes a delicious and fresh desert. All their chocolate deserts are made from real good quality chocolate and it tasted bittersweet. If that’s not your thing don’t bother going. I appreciated the entire process and the fact they didn’t add tons of sugar but the highlight was the chocolate. I feel like my palette has been refined after my visit to TASTE and I’m already planning to go back for a formal chocolate tasting.

Just takes to long… Slower then a Turtle in Reverse. Took 45 mins to bring out 4 hot chocolates two scoops of ice cream.

My husband and I loved our double date here for a chocolate tasting! The girl was so knowledgable about the eccentric chocolates and we had a fun time tasting them the way we were«supposed» to. We can’t wait to come back!

Only reason this did not get a 5 is because it can get busy and service can be affected by this. We timed it perfect. Service was good. Chocolate and balsamic tasting was delectable and priced at just 6 $ made for a unique and reasonable entertainment. But you must try the vanilla ice cream with strawberries and topped with cherry balsamic and tangerine olive oil. Unique treat. Ended up buying many of the treats and having shipped home.

5 stars. Why? Because you don’t know chocolate until Phil Davis describes it to you. Why? Because he is an amazing man who makes you love life. Why? Because he loves life. Why? Because he knows chocolate. Why? Because he’s not you. Now ignore the haters and go have yourself some chocolate that’s worth talking about. Take that Hershey Bar, throw it on the ground, stomp it, then take a torch and melt it, so that no one has to suffer anymore. They say if dogs eat chocolate they die. Well that’s because they are tired of eating the terrible«chocolate» they get after Halloween. Do yourself a favor, and live the life of a human who enjoys the finer things. (Side note: don’t feed dogs chocolate) Recommendation: 1. Everything.(But really, grab yourself some ice cream tasting and the frozen hot chocolate). 2. Everything.

I was very dissatisfied with my Taste experience. It’s all about the expectation, and they did a terrible job of advertising what the $ 20 chocolate tasting was about. At the time, the only thing that the website said, was that there was a chocolate tasting. This was not the case. It included an olive oil and vinegar tasting as well. Now, I’m sure there are plenty of you out there that think chocolate, olive oil, and vinegar sound great together, but I was wildly dissatisfied, and quite frankly, a little embarrassed because I brought a date and she didn’t enjoy the oil or vinegar either. Not only that, but with a $ 20 cover charge, I expected a little more than 9 ¼ oz pieces of chocolate. The long and the short of the story is — don’t trust the information on the website. If you know what you’re getting yourself into based off prior experience or from a referral, trust that, but not the website. To be fair — the chocolate that I did eat was very good, and the one guy gets really excited about chocolate, which is entertaining. Because of that, it’s 2 stars instead of just 1.

This may be a bit unfair as I’ve never been to a chocolate tasting place, but this place was AMAZING! Atmosphere: The interior is designed to look like an upscale café. Service: If you do a tasting(I did a mini tasting), the(not sure what to call them) server gives great advice on how to experience the chocolate fully with visuals, scent, feel, and taste. Food: We had the opportunity to taste 9 different chocolates, 2 different oils, and 3 different drinking vinegars… I loved all chocolates and ended up purchasing 4 of them and one drinking vinegar… I really wanted to buy the lavender infused oil, but I decided to buy it outside as it was cheaper on the site. Overall: I’m glad this isn’t anywhere near me… I’d go there way too much!

I love fine chocolate, so I really want to love this place… but my initial experience wasn’t good. I travel quite a bit and have favorite places where I can partake of quality chocolate. Again, I was pleased to see Taste open a store and to give them a chance. So far, I’ve not had the best experiences and the chocolate isn’t the problem, it’s their service(über slow) and frankly the haughty overtone of their tasting experiences. But I’d suggest toning down, I’m talking volume here, the talking guide’s voice is distracting. I understand that their tastings are to help people understand the distinct flavors found in quality chocolate and to guide people through the process, but it should feel like it’s your stores main emphasis. We can during a tasting and didn’t really feel attended to in spite of there being four employees working. I would suggest really working on service… making customers feel like guests instead of intruders. I really want them to succeed, but when it took a party of four 45 minutes(10 of which was watching their employee work their cash register) for four cups of sipping chocolate. I have favorite places in NY that take 4 minutes for the complete service for the same transaction. Please, please work on your service!

Love this cute place! Best hot chocolate and actually serves REAL chocolate. The iced chocolate is not as good as Serendipity, but I’ll take it. Provo doesn’t have anywhere like this. Fun environment, great chocolate.

I’ve taken my wife to taste and every time, we love the experience. The staff is friendly, the décor is pristine. The desserts and chocolate are high quality. You can tell everyone who works there has a passion for what they are doing. Above and beyond that, the pricing is extremely reasonable. Lovely experience. We’ll be going back again and again.

Great atmosphere, some of the richest chocolates to be had. It is a specialty version of Tony Caputo’s. The experience with Phil or any of his other trained chocolate Tasters is a must and especially great for date nights. If you decide to go home with any of the chocolate it will get pricey, but will last you quite a while(if you eat it properly).

I am so glad to have found this gem the only night I was in town! I was staying at the Marriot in Provo passing through town for my west coast road trip with my family. I came here with my young teenage sisters in search of ice cream after taking a stroll down University Ave. Their first impression stepping in was, «are you sure we are supposed to be here? It looks like a wine bar.» It was a Friday night and Taste was having a rowdy tasting event on the main floor. I proceeded to order 3 of the vanilla sundaes at the bar and convinced my sisters to stay and do a chocolate and vinegar tasting even though they thought it would be boring and too adult-like. Well a sundae and a few chocolate pieces later, this whole experience has completely changed their view on food. It really is like a fancy wine and cheese bar except they are serving chocolate and gourmet condiments. We ended up buying a few chocolate bars to take home as souvenirs from our vacations. I ended up spending something like $ 70 for the three of us but it was a great once in a life-time experience! I felt like I stepped into another world. As we were leaving, my sisters told me they can’t go back to eating Hershey’s anymore or even the fancy Lindor truffles. I really like that this place is fun for all ages. I love gourmet food and drinks(like cocktails) but never thought I could share a food tasting experience with my younger sisters with an age gap of 10+ years! My 13 and 14 year old sisters thoroughly enjoyed the sights and tastes and the classiness of the whole place. Thanks Taste! If i’m back in Utah, I will definitely hit you up again and refer all my friends to you!

This place is awesome. We got the Vinaigrette Ice Cream and the Iced Chocolate. Both were unique and delicious. The ambience is fun and reminiscent of a 1930s ice cream parlor. Absolutely recommend that you check it out.

Man this place is cool. So refined. I came here in any shirt and jeans, and instantly realized this place was a lot classier than I thought. Grant, the guy who helped me sample things was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. He helped me understand exactly how to taste and sample chocolate, and explained what to «look» for while savoring the chocolate. The chocolates are incredible! Seriously! So classy. They have chocolates from all around the world. Some from France, stuff from Italy, Brazil, and I think that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I didn’t get to try everything because it probably would’ve taken me hours. I ended up buying the bacon and chocolate bar. I never would have guessed to put those two together, but it is so good. I’ll be sure to make a trip back to this place soon. I want to be able to try everything they have.

You have to have Phil Davis give you a tasting seminar of the various chocolates and vinegars. He has such an expertise and passion for great tastes– you will never look at these foods the same again. Going to Taste isn’t a meal, it’s an experience! My favorite of the chocolates is the Melissa Criollo Francois Pralus 45%
