Sonic

Was hungry. I was craving coffee. I walkt over to the Sonic to get a coffee tho the next closest place was coffee pods.
There was a sign advertising the Boom Box. Which gives the customer a hamburger tater tots a hot dog and drink… i askt if i could order a coffee instead of a soda. since they said yes that sealed the deal.
The combo runs for 5 $.

Today sonic gets four stars. Usually these guys are super slow and overpriced, but today at happy hour they were actually really quick! Got my slush drink in less than two minutes probably. Score one for Sonic.

UPDATE: I totally lowered my rating from 4 stars to 1 because I just paid $ 2.50 for a drink that is 80% ice. That’s so lame. I’ll post a picture. I’m debating whether or not I should go back and give them a chance to fix it, but I have 3 kids 5 and under, so crap like this is a MAJOR inconvenience for $ 2.50, but it’s also seriously lame. I should’ve just gone to Sodalicious, but Sonic was on the way.
I learned to love Sonic when living in Texas. Sonics are everywhere. If not for my Texas life, I probably never would have come here. As far as Sonics and fast food go, I would say this one is a 4. They do 50 cent corn dogs several times a year and my husband goes crazy ordering more corn dogs than any human should. We also come here for corn dogs at random other times (especially during happy hour when they’re 99 cents) and occasionally just for drinks or ice and less frequently for other food. I’ve never had them mess up an order. Sometimes they’re really speedy and sometimes they’re less so, but I’ve never had them be slow. Their fountain drinks are good, their limeades, lemonades, and slushes are tasty, but fairly sweet. There are many places that are better that I would also rate a 4, but I base my rating on context. This is Sonic and for Sonic/​fast food, these guys do okay.

My husband and I ordered 2 Dr. Pepper slushes and they took an extremely long time to give us our order. I would’ve understood if they were super busy but they weren’t. When they finally did give us our slushes, there was hardly any syrup in them and they did not taste like Dr Pepper. They tasted sour for some reason. It was disgusting and we didn’t finish them.

Sonic’s quality is going down the drain. Using cheap syrups for their shakes. That’s blasphemy.
ordered a peanut butter fudge shake. tasted very bitter. Didn’t seem like there was any fudge or peanut butter in it. Just some disgusting flavor squirts, which were not mixed in very well. Sticking my straw on the bottom was a bad decision. So bitter! Like seriously, what is sonic using. I paid $ 4.39 for a shake that did not even have real fudge or peanut butter in it. That’s ridiculous.
My buddy ordered a snickers blast and we received a butterfinger blast at the window. We sent it back but the cashier confirmed it was snickers. It turned out to be butterfinger.
We also ordered some mozzarella sticks which were cold by the time we got them because our shakes took so long to make.

We absolutely LOVE Sonic. We go there almost every day to get our soda, and rarely do they make a mistake. The people at the drive-​up are incredibly nice, so much so that we usually feel inclined to tip them. And I rarely tip anywhere but a sit-​down restaurant. They make our drinks just the way we like them and they are always friendly. Their ice-​cream is delicious and creamy and we like the fries, tots, and mozzarella sticks as well. We also like the option of the drive-​in where we can sit, relax and talk while we wait for our order, and it’s fun going there on summer nights where we can sit outside and enjoy the warm evenings. Thank you Sonic for being a part of our day that we really look forward to! (Keep in mind, this is a fast food drive-​in/​drive thru, and that’s what you get when you go to Sonic. They don’t pretend to be anything other than that and we don’t expect anything more than that.)

I don’t always write a review. I’m not from Utah. But I come to Provo often. I don’t think there is one time I’ve gone to this Sonic and it’s been good service. I just ordered 1 plain hotdog with ketchup on the side, 12 in and a large Coke. (Not the route 44) the total was $ 6.44. Wow. I asked what was the cost of the hot dog. $ 3.99. For 1 hot dog!!! Sheeze that better be one great hot dog!
Not only was the girl snotty with me, when asking me for clarification of what was ‘ketchup on the side meant?’ (Packets– don’t like it soggy) but I didn’t get the packets and the dog was cold. Bummer. What a rip off!
The last time I went through I accidentally ordered a «blizzard» and the guy corrected me rudely that it was a blast I was ordering.
So for having to word things correctly and paying for an expensive meal– I should get good service!

Have you ever been to a sonic that does NOT stick to the half priced drinks between 2−4pm!!! Well this is one. I noticed on my receipt that for 5 route 44’s they only took one dollar off. So I asked why that was and the answer I received was… «The manager does not recognize the happy hour prices on combos.» !!! I mean seriously!!! I have never ever seen that at a sonic. So you would have to order everything separate to have it count!!! Won’t be coming back.

The service was okay but a little slow. The food was good and at a decent price. Their cheap shakes taste like cheap shakes. It’s worth going to on occasion for a change of venue.

Currently waiting at the drive through window. I’ve been waiting for about five minutes without anyone even opening the window to ask for my card. Through the window I can count about 5 employees doing close to nothing.
They finally opened the window and tried to give me my food without asking for money.

Seriously the worst. Waited 25 mins for drinks and then got the wrong ones. Even after we went to an associate and corrected the order since the girl on the intercom didnt hear us right and she was gone before we could correct her. Then, when we asked for the order to be corrected when we were brought the drink they brought back the same incorrect drink, with the incorrect order written on the cup. Unbelievable how terrible the service is. Definitely will not be going back

Tried the new super crunch chicken dinner, and it was meh! Carls Jr chicken tenders are the best near BYU campus at present. Hopefully, Popeyes or Zaxbys, will locate nearby sometime soon. The DQ chicken tenders on Canyon Road are pretty similar to Sonics.

Absolutely Terrible! 35 minutes to get through the drive-​thru. Waited 10 minutes at the speaker and had to say «Hello, Hello» into the speaker to get anyone to help. The cashier than was rude and said the system was down and they were only accepting cash. It then took 20 minutes to go from the speaker to the pickup window. Our shakes were melted. The staff has no idea what they are doing. The manager has no idea how to run the store. Terrible experience. I then called customer service and the area Manager, Skyler Stephens, emails and doesn’t even care about my experience or do anything to make me return. I wont be back.

It’s hard to really write up an amazing review when all you’ve had here are shakes and drinks.
The drinks are good. I enjoy an occasional Ocean Water, and Sonic does that for me. Of course it’s not like there is much to mess up. They have good promotions going on pretty regularly as well.
When I have had their food I usually wish I hadn’t. Which is why I now stick to drinks and shakes.
So go enjoy a drink and shake.

THIS SONIC LOCATION HAS A FAULTY DRIVE THREW MACHINE. I WAS WAITING IN LINE WITH NOONE INFRONT OF ME FOR PROBABLY A MINUTE AND A HALF. NOBODY, NOT A SOUL SAID ANYTHING. So I drove up to the window, banged on the glass and asked for a dirty diet coke. The man was very kind and in his mid 30’s. I felt a keen sense of trust. He begged for an apology. I granted it and he gave me the dirty diet coke. It was well put together. Presentation was on point. The ice level was exactly where it always ought to be and that I appreciated. I hope this is helpful.

They’ve updated their car stalls with digital menus. I like that because you can see what you are being charged before you swipe your card. Sometimes I just feel like a cheap slush and Sonic is good for that. Their drinks are awesome but I can’t say the same for the food. Every time I’ve eaten something, I’ve regretted it.
It is not the fastest fast-​food around so don’t be surprised about a bit of a wait.

Since getting new management, I’m happy to say I can take back a lot of my original comments. True, it’s still fast food and it’s never gonna be stellar. The burgers are never going to be 5 Guys, but you know what you’re getting into. Their act has been cleaned up immensely. Haven’t had any more messed up, late orders. I like the new (finally) updated ordering screens.
I do still have one complaint, though… what’s the deal with cookie dough being a syrup? It took three different times of ordering a shake with cookie dough in it and not finding any and finally asking someone to determine that when you order cookie dough, it comes in the form of a flavor shot. Seriously? A full ¾ of the point of cookie dough is for it to actually be yummy chunks of dough, not just a vague sweet flavor that disappears into the ice cream.

Don’t expect your order to be correct if you order anything more complicated than a soda, they’ll definitely mess it up
The staff is very nice though.

SO VERY SLOW. Computers run slow. Had 3 employees take our order. Had to repeat each order more than once. Had to redo order since slushes are not ½ price when part of a combo. And we haven’t even gotten our food yet.
Order was correct, Tater Tots were mostly cold.

These people are assholes. Rude as hell. On a cross country drive in a huge uhaul and couldn’t pull in to drive through. So we went inside. Filthy dirty and gross for one thing but I asked where to order because I didn’t have a clue because I’ve never had Sonic they aren’t around In la. Asked an employee and he was a dickhead and moved far away from us like we had the plague, I could have slapped him in the face. Luckily I’m from LA and don’t live in Provo, UT. Pissed me off so much I wrote a review. Fuck this place. Oh and I know Spanish and understand when you talk shit in Spanish. And yes im covered in tattoos that don’t suck because I’m a tattoo artist and touring professional musician. Don’t treat us like crap you have no clue who we are. End of rant. Assholes.
