Just gotta know what days and specials there are. The fries are traditional crinkle fries… not nearly as good as South Forks. I love the burger, though… the Super Basket is great. Like many other businesses, it is badly in need of updating!!! Also, parking is a beast. They should find a way to put parking across the creek and then put a foot bridge or something! All the negatives aside, this place is an experience! It’s an iconic Pullman establishment!

Wont be back! Waited 20 minutes for food when there was no one else in there. The college students working there seem to be more interested in socializing than helping anyone. The prices are outrageous. I paid $ 19 for two burgers, one fry and a small sundae. The food was horrible and ended up in the garbage. I think the positive reviews are based on the fact this place has cougar in the name. I am a cougar fan myself, but not a fan of being ripped off.

Not to be «that one guy» but I do not like the food here at all. Really dry and bland and pretty over priced for what it is. Hey, it’s not my place but apparently it’s a lot of other people’s. Go cougs!

Love this place! I love retro drive ins but don’t eat meat, so this place is perfect for me. It’s unbelievable that a drive in offers such a varied menu, with two types of veggie burgers, lots of fish selections. The kids like the kids’ meal, and they will readily substitute veggie burgers for meat, so it’s possible to have a family of vegetarians/pescetarians have some choices, and the kids can have a kid meal(McDonald’s offers us no such options, and Burger King gets weird when you ask that a veggie burger be substituted in a kids’ meal).

I will refrain from making a middle aged woman with wine joke. It’s been done to death, I’m sure. Instead I will say that this is a well preserved blast from the past that probably shouldn’t be missed if you are in the area for longer than a day or two. I usually don’t go to these«drive in» type of places unless I know they are going to have a good customer rate. Too many times I’ve been to these«Frostee, Shake, Freeze, Hut, Burger, Thru» places and the burgers are just OK, and everything else is less than OK. And that is because of the low customer rates. I’m not really into eating food that is so long in the freezer It’s been frost bitten. And by the looks of things during the«spring break» lull at WSU, this place has more than enough action to keep things as «fresh» as possible. I ordered the simple burger with bacon and Swiss cheese, some fried pickles and a pineapple blackberry shake. Shake was so thick I was afraid that I was gonna be sucked into the straw! Fried pickles were perfectly cooked. Not soft and mushy but not undercooked either. I’m guessing they are a food distributor sort of item, but still something I would intentionally go back for. The burger was a burger… I probably should have gotten a double patty, but then I would have thrown half of the burger away because I would have been miserable full. I’m not sure if they just salted the hell out of it, or if this was just a burger seasoning that was super powerful. Either way, next time I am ordering«no salt» just to see how it turns out. The gal who took my order was expertly friendly and helpful. Not one nanosecond of noticeable frustration or irritation with my «never been here before» line an went the extra mile to get me a soda water with lemon.(Yeah I’m that guy). $ 15 later for burger, pickles and shake. I wasn’t disappointed with my meal. Well, other than all that food I probably could have done without. But it did feed me until the next day, with only snacking here and there. Pullman obviously knows it has a gem on it’s hands with the Couger Country. The only question left is… will you try this gem out?

Always a great stop. Great food, good variety if you don’t want a burger, a few vegetarian options. When they are really busy parking can get tough, drive through has block road traffic in past. Yes it is that good of a local joint. Lots of different shake flavors and most likely the one you are looking for.

The establishment itself is okay and the service can be a hit or miss. Today I went in with my boyfriend and his friend to get dinner because they had been on a bus all day. The lady was super quiet and her demeanor was the same as a person that toked up a couple times before work. She was super quiet and took forever to respond to our orders. After we got everything ordered we didn’t check the receipt, assuming that since there was no line shoe would easily get our order correct. Of course it was wrong this time and she completely left out the burger on my boyfriends order because she«didn’t hear him.» The food itself was great as always but I can get a better shake that costs less back at home. Overall if you want a good burger go to Coug Country but expect adequate service at most and a ehh eating area.

A Pullman Coug tradition! Cougar Country is a classic«burger joint» with good prices, seasonal milkshakes – huckleberry! – and quick service. Their chicken sandwiches are tasty as well. The drive-though folks often have treats for car passenger dogs, so this is a favorite for the whole family.

Good ol, burger joint. Nothing fancy but its your regular burgers and shakes kind of a place. Affordable and good.

If you want an amazing burger at an extremely affordable price, then you need to go to cougar country because they have the best burgers possibly in the state and they are extremely cheap. Huge burgers as well. If you’re in Pullman, eating here is a must. Highly recommended.

Oh. THAT kind of cougar. Oh, darn(kidding). This is one of those great local burger joints. Perfect stop on a roadie. No, you aren’t going to get Painted Hills patties that were hand-formed and in my case, I don’t care. It’s the basics and it’s done well. They have an ice cream concoction they call the Cyclone that’s suspiciously reminiscent of DQ’s Blizzard. Well played, CC.

High ratings from others are due to being local and nostalgic. Truth be told, this is typical«fast» food except they are super slow. Boring burgers and lots of fried food. This is basically Zips but costs even more. :/

Solid 4-star experience. The cheeseburgers were fantastic, however the large onions rings I ordered were so tiny(like, barely enough for one person). I’m not sure what happened! The cashier confirmed that yes, it was a large size but it seriously looked like half was missing. :/That part was majorly disappointing(especially because it didn’t feel like I was getting my $‘s worth) but the burger was fantastic, so yes I’ll go back.

Best burger in the Palouse area! Everything there is delicious(although the fries are not my favorite). I always get a cheeseburger deluxe, fried pickles, and a banana milkshake. The milkshakes are the great, the banana milkshake are made with fresh bananas.

Great burgers, fries and all that jazz. Cyclones are awesome but disappointed they quit offering Nerds Cyclones.

I just don’t understand all the hype about this place. The burger is dry and overcooked. Their«fry sauce» is just a simple mixture of Mayo and Ketchup. You can make it at home.

Had the cougar special. It was really good. Prices were pretty decent for a drive in. The fried were hot and crispy. Overall a good experience for a small place. Everyone in the family enjoyed their burgers. The bathrooms were clean but need updating. I would recommend.
