Had the fish and chips last night. AND that’s all you got. Not slaw, bread, salad. Then was sick all night and today. Never again. The other 3 in our group got sick, as well.

Food is always great here. The chicken cottage pie is amazing. Great atmosphere, fun place to take friends.

Go here — you wont regret it. Atmosphere, drinks, big screen TVs, darts, nice staff, good food… Sure, its no beach-side locale, but its a nice, clean, relaxing place to grab a beer. Make sure to look up and check out the cathedral ceiling!

This place has great food, fantastic beer selection, an awesome setting in the 100 year old building… but unfortunately, they have a horrible management team running the place. This is a common problem in the restaurant business, and this is a classic example. They absolutely can NOT handle any large crowds. And the Managers who run the seating are often«missing in action’ and seat people who just arrived ahead of people who have been waiting and have their name on a list. I have seen this happen MANY times. It’s really too bad the place is run so poorly, because it’s a great little pub with good food and a nice atmosphere. Hope they can get it together someday.

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by SW Florida’s food and drink scene. When my parents announced the cliché migration to Florida, I was expecting the worst from their decision to be on the gulf coast. However, there have been some genuinely nice surprises. An English pub with a stunning import and craft beer list is going to catch my eye. I opted to go for the 25 minute drive south on Tamiami to Punta Gorda and had a fine meal and beer. I went with the chicken cottage pie and my parents split a Caesar Salad and the steak sandwich. I found the chicken cottage pie to be tasty and fresh. It was flavorful with an onslaught of salt. My parents were more than happy with their salad and sandwich. We were relegated to the patio on a bust Friday night so it took some time between ordering drinks and receiving them. However, the staff was attentive and friendly. The interior has a serious collection of dartboards that were all being used. I will be returning.

Excellent burgers. Cold beers. We had one bad time there with a really poor waiter. But other than that it was all good!

Pretty neat little place tucked into a street corner in a relatively quiet part of town! We stopped in after hearing from a local that it was a good spot for a quick supper bite. The atmosphere was, admittedly, a bit different. It was sort of a mashup between an American sports bar and a British pub. The menu also reflected this juxtaposition, offering meaty burgers as well as pub staples like shepherds pie and chips & gravy. Nevertheless, it was a pretty good meal. The food was good. Nothing I would write home about, but it was predictable pub fare with a bit of a twist here and there. We had the smothered fries to start. They were great! We had great service sitting in the outside dining area. The waitress was super busy but still very attentive. We were thankful for her intentionality! This is definitely a spot worth stopping by for a bite or a drink. We will be back.

Seems like a local favorite and on this night it was all about the Gators. The crowd are locals, clearly for most knew each other. Nice patio area in the front with televisions. Bar area is rectangular with one large screen television on back wall and smaller ones on corner of bar. Sitting in the middle of the bar offers conversation as you probably will not be able to see the televisions. There’s a back area loaded with dart boards and leagues come to practice. Most of the tables are higher so if you are a child or short, you will be climbing up to your seat. The food is okay. Found that the bangers and mash was really bland with natural seasons, if any. The service was great. Really appreciate the calm and friendly server who explained the wide selection of beers. Found that made the whole trying a new place okay. We didn’t like that there is no private parking lot and street parking is the norm.

Loved the variety of beer here and had the meat and cheese platter which is like a meal for two. Really enjoyed the visit.

Ok, I have eaten here several times. Use to really like it, but the last couple of times the food quality has gone down, down, down. Was with a party of 5 and four of us got the cottage pies and just like last time they were so dry — no gravy hardly in any of them. Did the cook change??? The chicken wings were still good, but really sad about the cottage pies being so bland. The time before our party had hamburger — that were so, so, and one had the cottage pie and I thought he should of asked if they forgot the gravy in his pie cuz it was so dry looking. Come on get back on track please.

Great drinks and a historic atmosphere! We enjoyed the fun times and the great music. The only thing that we aren’t nuts about is the food. It’s not bad– but it could be spiced up a little bit. The servers are friendly and very hipster.

Wow. This has got to be one of my favorite bars, period. A beautiful bar inlay and a great setting– inside Punta Gorda’s historic ice house. Excellent beers on draft and friendly tenders. The real highlight of this place, in my opinion, is the gaming atmosphere. I had a blast trying my hand at darts and there are other games available– billiards, etc. The Ice House provides a fun time for locals and visitors alike. It’s the casual bar experience transposed into a classy setting.

After struggling at the last restaurant, I was thrilled to get a cold beer so quickly with awesome service. Jason at the bar rocks. I asked him to pick me out an IPA and a wheat ale and perfection. He was funny and quick! We got sat rather quickly and our server was good. We ordered friend artichokes and wow! How have I never had this before? b very good. Not greasy but fries and fresh artichokes that had great flavor. My cousins opted for the bangers and mash and loved it. They are regulars here and it’s a favorite dish. I got a cheeseburger and it was juicy and flavorful. I couldn’t even finish it, but my boyfriend was eyeing it like he hadn’t eaten in weeks. My boyfriend snagged the fish and chips for his dinner. The fish was so fresh that for once I wanted the fried fish. It wasn’t one of those way too greasy fried fish either it was lightly done and really good. I continue to enjoy Icehouse for lunch, dinner or just a few beers.

We ate here today and ordered artichoke hearts, a beer, burger and fries. I’d give it three and a half stars if I could. I was told the burger was great(medium rare.) My hearts could have been a bit warmer but the big fat fries were so hot we had to wait a minute or two before we could eat them. So I asked for extra sauce for the hearts and I got it along with an additional $.50 charge when the bill came. It would have been nice if our server had informed us upfront that an extra sauce was an extra charge but she didn’t. Is this place taking after McDonald’s? They probably state somewhere in the menu that extra sauce is an additional charge but I had a hard enough time reading the menu in the dark. Beer was $ 5 for a domestic draft. Another disappointment. I can get domestic drafts down the street for $ 2 all day long. Our server was very nice, the place was clean and cool, and the food was good. Next time we go I’m bringing a flashlight.

2nd time here. 2nd time asked when I was leaving. Heaven forbid I was to stay past 6pm for I was to interfere with trivia night. Last time I will try this place. I don’t need to be accepted to be welcomed. This place is a joke, ONLY snowbirds are duped by this joke. They are laughing at you.

If there was a way to give this amazing pub/restaurant a 10 star, it would be done! It was one of our first stops on our first month long stay in the area three years ago, and we found it well worth our trek from North Ft Myers. As craft beer aficionados, we were so impressed with the selection, and the helpful, friendly staff made us feel like locals. Segue three years later, we return to the same great atmosphere, selection of great craft beer, and a bar manager who remembered us!!! Can’t ask for more!!! We are diehards!

Solid four star experience at ice house pub — lots of room, breezy laid back patio, $ 620 oz craft beer pours, simple menu with quality ingredients and attentive staff. The entrance is a little tricky in that it is behind the building off 41 but once you make the turn off the hwy there is plenty of parking and a welcoming patio. The inside is a bit dark for my taste so we enjoyed our lunch menu selections on the patio with some delicious local craft beer selections. They had local craft beer on tap from Tampa, Punta Gorda and St. Pete — this sealed the 4 star deal for me. Food selection leans a little towards the 3 star range… it’s a good thing I love beer. I would like for them to extend the offering to include my fav, FMBC, some of sarasota’s breweries and more from Lee and Collier counties.
