Friendly service and great breakfast. We stopped in after camping the weekend for breakfast before heading home. We had he special French toast casserole, which is amazing-pecan topping and raspberry syrup. also had a veggie omelet. Omelet was a large portion and was cooked well. Coffee was green mountain and had several flavors to choose from. Would definitely return If in the area.

Food is good but the daughter who is a waitress is insulting She is slow to serve and acts as if she does not want to be there. We have stopped going there

It is very hard to find a good breakfast up here and this place is worth stopping in. Our waitress Erin, was attentive and friendly. The food took a little longer than expected which is why I only gave it 4 stars, but was worth the wait. The waffle was great! I will definitely be returning.

We camped and mountain biked the past few days so the Log Cabin was a welcome retreat in the way to the UCIMTBDH at Windham. After all, BGH burned just about everything edible in the campfire. I ordered the Lumberjack and really dug the crispy cheese deal on the outside of the omelette(a first for me). The ham was great too. All the fellas liked their meals as well. One tip: close the bathroom door after you use it. Ahem.

Wonderful, tasty wraps, homemade potato salad, salads, desserts and more! Cash only, but prices are very reasonable. Friendly owners had a great album of Cairo/Round Top-area resort postcards from 100 years ago.

This is the second time we stopped in for breakfast. Last year we had such a great meal we had to return, and this time was just as good. It a small place, fills up quickly for weekend breakfast. But they do a good job getting you seated. The food takes some time getting out, but it’s prepared in a way that takes time. The girls serving are very friendly and work well together taking time to talk to you with a smile. If you have the time, I would recommend stopping in.

My country place is not too far from the Log Cabin Café, yet I’ve only eaten here on 3 occasions, each as mediocre as the last. First off — the water. UGH! If you’re not from around here, you’re probably not familiar with what we call«sulfur water». It’s a very hard, smelly well water that imparts a horrible«rotten egg» taste to whatever is prepared with it. They have the gall to serve this stinkwater to their paying customers here! Most folks around here don’t even consider this water drinkable, and the local restaurants serve purified water to their customers, but not this dive. One whiff, and you’ll know what I mean. Their foul-smelling coffee is made from it as well, and their juices — all from concentrate — share the same sulfur smell, so don’t bother ordering those, either. Bring your own bottle of water, as I have done following my first visit here. The service… oh my! It is indeed S-L-O-W. The place usually has just a handful of local regulars, and the occasional visitor, so there is no excuse for that whatsoever. The food… eh. Average, at best. Eggs, toast, sandwiches, etc etc. None prepared out of the ordinary, and certainly nothing to write home about. If you happen to not be able to find this little place in the middle of nowhere here, don’t sweat it, don’t GPS it, just keep going. You didn’t miss much.

Ooooh. Mmm. Whoa. But seriously. Whoa. I can only grunt with approval about the food, cuz I’m currently wheeling from the mountain that was the Catskills omelette — a mother load of creamy, tender, delectable, cheesy goodness. If you’re hungry and you know it, do yourself a bonus and descend upon this establishment. Clear your schedule, take your time, and chill the fuck out — these guys will FEED the fuck out of you. My only complaint. I also ordered the poster on the wall because I saw it and it was that sick, I just knew I needed it. They said no. I asked again. Still no. I guess that should tell you something about the décor. Oh well, maybe they’ll get sick of it and next time I come they’ll give it to me for dessert.

My BF and I went to the Log Cabin Café because it came highly recommended from the ladies at the Greene County Visitor’s Center. The place is small-ish but holds a few tables(and stools for counter sitting), shelves of locally made products and a convenience section for those on the run which offers eggs, milk, newspapers and a coffee bar. I must say the place is charming and clean-so clean! The menu is on the smaller side but provides something for everyone. They have a menu board behind the counter with the days specials which adds another few items to choose from including whatever homemade soup the chef made for the day(Italian Wedding soup was the days specialty). Also on the board, written very tiny, is the fact that this place is cash only. For our lunch I decided on the black bean burger wrap for $ 8.95 which came with a choice of side and the BF got the Caribbean Salad which was a large season chicken breast over mixed greens, sliced almonds and mandarin oranges. Was the service slow? …it was close. Just when I started to remark that the food was taking a long time, it came out and was beautifully presented. You could tell the chef wanted to perfect his product and he succeeded. Both our dishes were delicious, well thought out and were a nice change from the normal Catskill fair. I don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes if I’m going to get food that’s good! Our waitress was cheerful and eager to please. We cannot wait to return to this little gem!

This cute little rustic gem was our choice for lunch in the Catskills this day. Here’s what we munched on: Our parents had the BLT and Grilled Cheese sandwiches. They were both very satisfied, judging by the clean plates they left behind. I had the tuna melt on wheat with tomato. A nice job, with the tuna being of the perfect consistency… not too much mayo so as not to sog up the bread. The food took a bit of time to come out of the kitchen, and the only server was a bit busy with half the tables filled, but it gave us time to admire the décor. I’m holding back one star because they only do cash. An inconvenience for patrons, that’s for sure. If your in town, stop in. It was very good.

I am here all the time. Great food, good coffee, and even better people. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. My favorite breakfast is the Lumberjack. Waffles are excellent as well. I could rave about this place all day!

Bottom line: The setup is nice and the staff friendly. However the service is very slow, the food is mediocre and in the end they only accept cash but they did not post this fact clearly when we got in. The pro’s: One of the only places you can go to when you are in the Cairo(NY) area — usually camping. The setting is nice. It is clear that though has been put into the design, in order to make it seem like a friendly cabin. The staff was very friendly. The con’s: The food was mediocre. The eggs were actually good(sunny side up), but the omelette and pancakes were bland. In my opinion an omelette is not an egg folded across vegetables. The vegetables should be incorporated into it(in their favor I would say that this is quite typical to many places in the US. But it does not make it right. Also in their favor — they did not smother the egg with cheese). The pancakes were bland and there were no options to spruce them up(such as chocolate chips or blueberries). Next, the service was very slow. Finally, having to pay cash in the end, in a place that is quite far away from normal ATM’s is not pleasant.

Had the Goin’ Bananas(French toast) and it was very yummy. It used simple syrup — which is sugar melted into water, which I only know because I asked. My beaux had an omlette and it had cheese crisped on the outside — he said it was phenomenal. Our friend had the feta cheese omelette AND the strawberry and banana waffle. He was expecting it to be better actually. So 2 of 3 were more happy than not. :) When we left we bought some milk, muffins, and rolls for our anticipated grilling. They also sell things like maple syrup and other items… The folks working there were really nice too!

Just happened to stumble upon this place one morning as we were looking for a breakfast place. It is a gem. Very well run and they offer some very good breakfast specials. The staff are incredibly attentive and gracious. Well worth the effort to seek out if you are in the general area.

A recently opened/renovated café/diner that serves good breakfast food and a reasonable price. I was there on 1⁄30 and was very happy with my 3-egg omelete with tomato, peppers and ham($ 6). My buttered rye toast was very fresh and the home fries were very tasty. I also like the style and neat appearance of the café. Even the bathroom was very clean. Overall, if I am ever passing through this area again I will make a stop here. Keep in mind they only serve breakfast and lunch and they don’t except credit cards.

First time eating at the old log cabin, I hadn’t been in there since it was a gift shop in the sixties. Good coffee, good service, adequate menu, we both had the waffle with strawberries and bananas, everything else looked good, Ok prices. clean, will put it on our regular breakfast rotation.
