mothers day may 8, 2016. Made reservations. arrived on time. seated within 10 minutes. food came 45 minutes after ordering. chicken chow mien was soggy and slimy, sent it back. waitress wanted to know why so chef could be informed but I see this was a previous issue. Mothers Day menu did not included American food. One of our group said they did have shrimp on their Mothers Day menu either. Our waitress did not ask if we wanted to order something else because that would be another 45 minute wait. They did not charge for the chow mien. Now to cleanliness. The fish tank water was low and the tank dirty. The area where we ate smelled like the carpet had been cleaned and was still damp. You know wet dog odor. I said smelled like but the carpet was dirty so I don’t know where odor came from. I will say bathrooms were clean. Great! I mean that. No sarcasm here.

It pains me to give this review. House Of Kee has been a long time favorite on Southhill for decades. I remember eating there often as a kid. Even as an adult my wife and I would treck all the way out there once every couple years. Then it was closed for a while. It been reopened now for maybe a year or two? Something has changed and not for the good. We visited six months ago but I didn’t write a review. I thought perhaps that visit was a fluke. But, we visited again last week with a group of five friends. The food was the worst I’ve experienced. The sweet-and-sour pork was gristle. The almond chicken was soggy, the chow mime was awful. our server was friendly so that was good. Something has happened, and something not good. Where is the old house of Kee remember?

My wife and I dine regularly at the House of Kee and find the staff to be friendly and professional, the food to be tasty and plentiful, and the cost to be reasonable. If you are looking for good Chinese food you cannot go wrong at the House of Kee.

I live so close and always pass if and decided to give it a try bc our normal spot is closed on Mondays… Big mistake. 5 containers cost us $ 73.00. Never in my life have I spent so much on Chinese food and I’m Chinese lol. The chicken chow mein was basically all sprouts little pieces of chicken here and there and practically no noodles at all. It’s also completely watered down. The tofu that is supposed to be spicy has no flavor at all like zero not spicy not any flavor at all. I’m so upset I not even eating anymore of it at all. I will never eat here again.

Just like one of the Unilocal reviewers mention if your Asian do not go here it will not be your kind of taste pallet. I should of known when I look at the menu that the food wouldn’t be up to par, but my husband being American he wanted to stay and give it a try so I agree. We will never eat here again. If you been to a authentic Chinese restaurant you will understand when you see the menu and you will know it’s authentic Chinese food. This is definitely Americanize Chinese food. If you want real Chinese food Chinatown is where it’s at its a long drive but the food tastes authentic.

I’m not much for Chinese food but my husband was wanting it so we decided to try this place. I actually really enjoyed the food and the price was decent. The restaurant is quiet and casual, no frills. The staff were all very friendly and checked on us several times. We will definitely return and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant. For what it’s worth we had our three year old and infant with us and still had a good experience so it’s definitely family friendly.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for four years. Never again! The hostess was terrible. Never have we needed to wait for a table for more than 5 minutes. Tonight it was 40 minutes with a lobby full of people, and empty booths. Really people… this is the best you can do for customers who have been loyal to your restaurant for four years? Wow!!! Maybe you are dropping in the level of customer service. Well… people need to rethink going here for family night. We love Chinese foods but it needs to be backed up with respectful service, clean and trained employees. Really reconsider some well else.

It was Ok– i’ve had better. I will admit for a Friday night dinner it works in a pinch! The place had several«to go orders» The service was Ok. Overall it was«ok» and like I said works in a pinch for a Friday late night dinner. A step above the supermarket«Chinese food» but that is about it.

The worst service I have ever seen. They had people in the banquet room so all the food kept going back there and the customers that were seated in the regular dining room got nothing. It took 20 mins to get a table and then another 10 before they took our order. The service just kept getting worse, they told us ours was next but by now we are so mad I walked out and my husband told them to make to go. I personally wanted to tell them where they could put their food. We have been going there forever but it has been about a year since we have been there. Boy has it gone to hell.

Our food order to go was awful. Their food was a little to much Americanize to my taste. We were better off to have ordered at Panda Express

Let’s just say if you are Asian this is not a location for you! If you like Americanized Chinese food you will love it here. I literally thought they got my order wrong LOL.

Food is okay to good. I am not usually a fried food person so stay away from that. My favorite is the Chow mein. The drinks are good. Service was good. The waitress was nice. For what you pay you get a good value. I went because it’s a close place to spend some time with friends. Nice environment for that.

My husband and I choose this restaurant to go to last night because of its close proximity to our house. We arrived at 820 pm and the dining room closes at 9. The hostess took us to our table quickly and we could hear our waitress say to her«What time is it anyway?”(in a angry way). I guess we were to late for her. We ordered the Cantonese family special for two, which is multiple courses. I have never been served so fast in my life. The waitress brought the BBQ pork, said sorry only ends are left, you did come in late. My husband and I are laughing at this point at how obvious it is that we are not wanted here. The busser had our dishes cleared as soon as they were emptied. She literally stayed perched at the table next to us. Then the waitress(I wish I had got her name so I could post it) brings the check. The bill was $ 50.24. I gave her $ 61 and said keep the change.(great tip for lousy service but hey it’s the holidays). She stands there and says no it’s $ 60.24 so my husband gives her another ten and she runs off. We had two beers at 3.50 a piece, 33.90 for the meal and one shot. That is 19 for a shot if we go with her numbers. I was beyond mad and asked for a copy of the receipt. She runs by and drops the bottom tab which shows 50.24. My husband made me leave because it’s Christmas! Don’t go here unless you support bad service and out and out stealing. This is the response I got Hi Gina, On behalf of the House of Kee, I want to apologize the misunderstanding occurred last night. We have investigated the incident and here are the details to our best knowledge. When you handed the waitress money for your bill, she took it up front to the cashier. The cashier was busy with several other tickets and closing procedures. She didn’t want you have to wait a long time for your change so she glanced at the ticket thinking it was $ 60.84. So she took a quarter out from her pocket and gave the change back to you thinking it would speed up things. Yes, her handwriting is not the best and she is also a diabetic with vision issues. By the time the cashier had the opportunity to ring in the ticket and let her know there was $ 10 change, you had already left the restaurant. Please let us know where can we send your $ 10 back. Again we are sorry that this unfortunate incident had occurred, rest assure this was not intentional. Sincerely, House of kee This is the answer I got from the restaurant!!! Don’t tip If you go here. Just enjoy the food!!!

This place was just awful!!! Never have I had such poor service and just sickening food. There ate much better restaurants — Chinese restaurants — in the Puyallup-South Hill area. I am not a picky eater but this was just an unpleasing experience. Go somewhere that makes better tasting food and where the staff provide better survive that makes you actually feel like a customer.

Went last night to the Karaōke bar with some friends. Had a lot of fun. Small bar area, but otherwise, pretty cool. Strong mixed drinks.

The absolute worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life! Portions are not good for the value. Our order was wrong and the waitress did nothing to fix it. Do not come here whatever you do!

My husband, mom and I went to House of Kee for dinner tonight. The service was not so good… They didn’t greet us when we walked in the door. We had to ask to be seated. We were sat and waited ten minutes for a waitress to come give us water. They don’t allow you to substitute anything on their menu. We wanted hot and sour soup but almost every dinner combo came with wonton soup. We were told, repeatedly, our appetizers would be there. We had to ask for our soup. The BBQ pork had no flavor and was dry. Our sweet and sour pork was chewy and fatty– I pulled a huge piece of grizzel or a vein out of a piece. We ordered margaritas that were disgusting and tiny. The pork fried rice was dry. The pros– good egg rolls, chicken chow mein, almond chicken and fried prawns. That’s about it. This restaurant was extremely dirty and it gave off a shady vibe. Our check tray was caked with food crumbs. Gross!!!

Great Saturday lunch special. Soup, chow mien, SS pork, and almond chicken, $ 9. I don’t ever go here w/o getting the egg roll, not frozen pre-made from the box store, fresh made and wicked good.
