Yoga in Quartz Hill

I’m officially addicted! I love coming here and look forward to my Wednesday postnatal class! It is amazing and I love that I can bring my baby! Thank you for having this amazing class and Pernille!!!

I will first stress that I am a complete newbie when it comes to yoga. So from coming in with no experience, I thought this place was excellent. The instructor (knowing I had little to no experience) offered different positions for me to try and took the time to make sure that I was doing it correctly. And VERY child friendly, they have a baby gate up before the class began.
I signed up for 8 weeks of classes after my first visit :)

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been here many times and I wish I had tried yoga out a long time ago, I’ve been missing out! Great location, great classes, great workout, I leave feeling so grateful. The hours I have available land on Wednesdays, Pernille is the instructor at 1230 class, she is so good at what she does with a lot of knowledge, very welcoming and no judgement!

Three stars for the friendliness but if you call your class Iyengar you should be Iyengar certified… I’ll try the candle light class but I may head over to Yoga Roots

Individualized cues!!! I love it when an instructor gives feedback so that I am learning something! Hylong gives very clear cues for each asana and I can feel the difference after each class! I cannot say the same about their competitor: Yoga Roots which gives very few individualized cues at all and sun salutations are rushed! Hylong makes sure each student has gotten it right and provides modifications if necessary before moving on to the next asana. Classes are a good range of times during the day and evening. The studio is now located in old dance studio in QH that has closed so it is very spacious for yoga with a smooth wood floor. I have called the number with questions also and whoever picked up was very helpful. Props such as blankets, straps and blocks are available for use. I have also met most of the instructors at an Eric Small Iyengar Workshop. Always reassuring to know the instructors keep up to date on their yoga! So wonderful to finally have access to knowledgeable yoga instructors in the AV!!!

This was absolutely, hands down, my favorite yoga studio due to the small, intimate class sizes and very low rates. I felt supported and received the attention I deserved by all the instructors, especially Ella and Michelle. I deeply miss this studio since I’ve moved to San Diego. Again, they are personable yet professional and show authentic care and concern for your best physical and emotional health and wellness. This is the best spot in the AV indeed!

I have been going to this place for about a year. Violet is great, she focuses on my problem areas and i feel totally relaxed after my massage.

This place sucks!!! Save your money and go elsewhere! The lady who answered the phone was not only a bitch but she was unhelpful and totally rude! No wonder you guys don’t have much business!!!

This review is ONLY about the yoga — I have no experience with their other services.
I came into town to visit family, and wanted to go to a couple of yoga classes during my trip. I first tried a place called Yoga Roots– which I highly recommend, by the way. Today I thought I’d try someplace else, so I looked up the schedule for yoga at Shape of a Woman. There was supposedly an Iyengar class at 6. I called the studio to check the schedule, and to ask about the class. No answer — the machine said to leave a number and they’d call back. Well, the machine didn’t say the class was canceled or anything, and I assumed that, in this day and age, a business that runs classes on a schedule would keep their website up to date. I went to the studio, only to find it totally deserted and locked up. I tried calling again, and got the machine again. No mention of a cancellation, no note on the door, nothing.

My husband and I had massages here in April, and they were amazing. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Very relaxing. At the time, I was 7 months pregnant and huge, but my masseuse was very experienced and did a wonderful job. She took all of my pregnancy pain away, and I was surprised that I did not have any back pain or hip pain for a few weeks after that (since being pregnant, it has been a constant thing).
I have already purchased two more prenatal massages and look forward to them.

I been here 4 times since they have been promoting on local living and yes, it is an old house but its very cozy and nice. Violet is amazing, her massage tells you that she has years of experience and loves what she does. I get a lot of massages and like anyone else likes to save money, so this has been a treat all around. VIOLET! You are awesome, thank you for helping my body aches– ache less
