I came to the city to spend the holidays. My uncle was nice enough to give me the guest bedroom in his townhouse so I felt like i should do something nice for them. The family was celebrating my cousins birthday and I felt like I should do something nice to contribute. He just got a basketball scholarship to college so I told them I was going to get the cake for the diner.
I found a beautiful sculpted basketball cake picture and sent it to a few shops to see how much it would be. The responses got me nervous. Most of them said they could not do the cake in less than a weeks notice and they all told me 300 dollars plus. I started looking at some cake shops that were outside of the city and NYC Birthday Cakes helped me out. I filled out the quote form with the sculpted cake and they quoted me $ 275 but then I replied to the quote and asked them if they could do it cheaper. They told me it would be cheaper if I chose a buttercream design and sent me an example picture. Needless to say this New York vacation is costing me an arm and a leg so $ 100 dollars felt like a steal. Not to mention that they delivered it right to the townhouse for 20 dollars!
I am sure the New Yorkers already know to order their custom cakes outside of Manhattan but I wish one of you guys would of left that tip on Unilocal

I ordered a cake for a birthday.
I did everything online: I sent a form with two options I had in mind. Joseph was very helpful. He immediately contacted me by e-​mail giving me the detailed pricing of each option. Then once I confirmed one of them we spoke on the phone and he made sure to get every single detail I wanted on the cake by writing. Even during the cake making process he sent me pictures asking me if that was the way I wanted a certain thing done or if he had to change it.
My cake turned out to be amazing!!! I’m soo glad to have chosen NYC Birthday Cakes! I would definitely do it again.

A HUGE thank you to this amazing bakery for a quick 24 hour turnaround time. On a wedding cake! They were SO flexible and basically agreed to make the cake look like any picture I sent them. It tasted amazing, and the guests couldn’t stop commenting on how beautiful it was. Such nice people to work with!
