Food is okay, make sure you order slow because if it’s anything with multiple ingredients they are going to mess it up!
The one star is because even if there not busy they have the slowest service imaginable. 10 minutes to get a bagel and cream cheese. They take about 2 minutes just to ring you up. It’s actually unbelievable how slow they are.

Being that I work very early its nice to be able to grab breakfast or coffee. For a while I bought a pastrami/​egg/​cheese (8.75)* (5.00 across the street at the local Deli) every other day or so. Things were backed up one day and they HADN’T EVEN STARTED MY ORDER and my bus came. She was going to give me the money back but I said «I’ll come get one on a slower day» the manager was there and the one who would have made the sandwich.
I went back today being that I have a later day. I asked the manager and he lied in my face, told me that he made it and threw it out.
The same manager that boast how generous the community was in getting them reopened. He never made the it, and totally ignored the fact that I told him I saw that he didn’t make it. Instead he just walked away.
VERY UNPLEASANT AND NOT SMART BUSINESS!
THANKFULLY THERE IS A NEW COFFEE SHOP CLOSER TO MY HOUSE, AND A DELI ACROSS FROM IT.
I’LL BE GOING TO ROCKAWAY COFFEE FROM NOW ON! I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME!

Food is good. The bagels are soft and fresh which is good, but… the older woman at the register messed up my order a few times and ordered something I didn’t ask for. She tried to make fun of how I said everything bagel in front of people but her joke fell flat.
The owner should consider hiring someone who could take direction especially for morning orders.

Stopped here for a bagel and a coffee. Bagel was fresh but could of been more generous w/​the butter. Coffee wasn’t to bad either. Total price was under $ 4. Also I thought a nice touch was that there is a tv inside w/​a camera showing the bus stop outside so you can see when the bus is coming. All in all a good experience. Hopefully I’ll be in the area again to try out an egg sandwich.

The food is AMAZING! They mix real strawberries in the cream cheese, the chicken is always juicy and tender, and the French toast bagel with strawberry butter is killer! I would eat here everyday if they weren’t SO SLOW. To be a primary breakfast joint the fact that it takes 20 minutes for a bacon, egg, and cheese is so sad. On numerous occasions I have seen people leave their order without paying because they had to leave or be late to work. And don’t try calling it in, 9 times out of 10 your phone order doesn’t make it to the grill. But if you have time to spare or you’re headed to the beach and want a great leisurely meal, stop in. Just be prepared to wait.

Went over the summer. I understand they were busy but they only had 2 people working there. If you know you’re going to be busy have more people working. Took forever to get our bagels. Plain ol bagels, no hot food or anything. As we were waiting a little old lady with an accent was getting her bagels and wanted to look into the bag to see what kind she got. There was a little language barrier and they were out of one kind of bagel the old lady wanted so she was looking into the bag to see what she got. the lady working behind the counter literally snatched the bag out of her hand and told her not to touch it. It was her bag of bagels! Why can’t she touch it?! The counter lady was extremely rude to everyone in the place. I couldn’t believe it & haven’t been back since.

Owner posting on my review is wrong and clearly attempting to hide what he is doing to people. Do not believe a word of his comments. He did not try to make anything right and they still have awful health department violations including contaminated food and improper cleaning. Don’t fall for his BS

Really good bagels, I like this place because its one of the only places around to grab food that isn’t cash only. However right now I’m kind of sad because my bagel was very small and only had a little bit of cream cheese. Still good though.

I’m updating my review because I went there today and waited over 20 minutes for two bagels. One of which was just a whole wheat bagel with butter not toasted and another bagel with bacon and egg. People came in after me and got there food. It wasn’t that many people in the store and the bagels wasn’t as soft as before. My first review I went around 1pm on the weekday. Today was a Saturday at 10am. I can’t figure out why the bagels was softer later in the day. Smh! Anywho I’m giving them one more time and if they still mess up I’m going back to my other bagel spot. I need consistency!

Everything seems very fresh! The bagels are always on point. Only 5 stars b/​c The new grill girl* is quick and makes THE BEST tasteful sandwiches whether it’s breakfast or lunch! Mm! The staff seems fair to everyone but they can put a smile on from time to time with customers :)

All of the staff is great here! The food is delicious… if you are in the mood for something different try the fish tacos. The breakfast burritos are awesome as well. Can’t go wrong with a good old bagel and 50 different kinds of yummy creamcheeses either!

O.k. So I moved over here about 3 weeks ago I have been here every single morning for their yummy coffee!!! I don’t even want to make coffee at home I love it. I am from Suffolk County Long Island Originally and I swear «We» have the best bagels, however I have to give it up to Surfside «They will even scoop it out for you!» :) I am a huge fan and they also have great salads and soups!!!

Sometimes the food is OK and other times it is terrible bordering on unhealthy (like not properly stored & definitely way past its expiration date).
In addition, customer service here is extremely low-​quality. This place seems to hire high school students who don’t care much about their jobs or if the place retains its customers. Especially nasty is some tan woman in her late-​20s who yells out everything (even when the place is empty, it’s not as if there’s tons of noise) and has a weird attitude about SERVING customers, which is her job.
BTW, the place is kind of expensive for the neighborhood.
I’ve been here tons of times though just because it’s close to the bus stop and right by the beach. Usually get chicken salad on a roll or bagel. Recently they’ve become more skimpy with their bagel and roll fillings.

Craving for yummy & fresh bagels that are well baked? You have come to the right place! I have been trying bagels all over NYC (places like Hot &Crusty or Gotta Getta Bagel) and I must say this is one of my favorites! They have a great price for their guaranteed Fresh bagels and sandwiches. They have the usual mix, along with cheese and broccoli bagels. They also serve refreshing smoothies, pastas, wings, and sweet goods! The staff are polite and friendly, I highly recommends this place for passerby and beach goers!!!

For a café, the bottles of soda were cheap, but it cost me $ 6.50 for just a okay ham sandwich with tomato, lettuce and cheese, when I can get a baked one with mayo for $ 3.50 at Elizabeth’s by my house. It took very long to get my sandwich made but the people were polite though.
