Lovely waitress but in sitting in front of the kitchen staff who are talking shit about all the customers. Hate your job? Get another one!

I agree with most of the other reviews. Over priced and the staff is absolutely horrible. They make it apparent that they don’t care. I know this is an airport but come on. There are people here from other countries and you are showing them a pretty shitty representation of the States by giving attitude and literally not giving a shit about customer service. Also, AUDIBLY talking shit about your customers and making fun of them in front of their faces. Just because their English may not be perfect, doesn’t mean they can’t understand you. If you hate your job so much, WORKSOMEWHEREELSE. Don’t be surprised when people tip you in quarters(which is what the people next to me at the bar did). Any prospective customers, you do have options. GOELSEWHERE.

I didn’t have a choice when we dined here because my traveling companions outvoted me. Anyways, I’m not a big fan of sit down restaurants at any airport because they are way over priced and the service usually sucks. And of course, I was right about both. The prices here are just ridiculous. Yes, I know this is suppose to be a «famous» restaurant but come on, we’re at the airport, not 5th avenue. And as far as service goes, only eat here if you have 2 hours to spare. OMG, this restaurant is slower than molasses. Our food took forever to come out and our server was nowhere to be found. I think she checked on us once, that’s it. I had to flag her down to get a refill on my drink and when we asked for our check, it took her at least 15 minutes– This place is definitely short staffed. Avoid when you’re in a hurry.

Wanted to get dinner before our flight across the pond to England. This place looked good. Walked in, there were empty tables. The hostess said it was a 45 minute wait for a table. I pointed to all the empty tables and asked«Why»? She said«Managers discretion». I used my customer discretion and spent my money elsewhere.

I had the House Burger-Thousand island dressing. Smoked bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese with parmesan fries. I can’t complain about the food as it was prepared well and the tasted good but with this burger and 2 beers my tab set me back $ 53.00 with tip. I can’t complain about the price as I reviewed the menu prior to entering the establishment. The only issues I have are the condition of the chair cushions my butt is sitting on. Disgusting with stains. Had to put a napkin over the seat. I looked around and noticed many of the chairs are stained with who knows what’s but they all need a cleaning. My waitress was great.

I came here twice because the choice at Terminal 7, JFK is not very promising. The food tastes like it was frozen and just got warmed up, I tried the classic burger and the vegetarian portobello burger on their menu. Considering it is an airport, the service here is very slow too, make sure you have at least one hour of time before you have to get to your gate. I wish there would be good alternatives, the only reason to come here instead of McDonalds is the better seating. Next time I might choose McDondals.

My breakfast was literally out of a can. Coffee was cold. Service is actually good but what is service worth when your meal is an oily pile of old packaged food. We didn’t even touch my boyfriends bacon as it seemed microwaved, coated in oil with absolutely no crisp to it. Beware. Oh and over $ 60 for the worst meal of all time. Neither of of us even drank our $ 3.49 drip coffee it was so bad. Didn’t eat my food.

Disgusting. Very brightly lit(like eating in Wal-Mart), very slow, very bad. I have been here twice. First time ordered the steak. Tastes like eating a shoe. Second was nachos. All chips, no sauce. The staff are on their last leg. Avoid it at all costs. Luckily, I was on work travel so it was expensed. Would not want to pay for the food or the ambiance. It was not relaxing or gratifying in any respect. Get rid of this place.

If you love mediocre food with the service to match, this is the spot for you! Definitely avoid if you have any time constraints.

Overpriced even for an airport restaurant and expectations were already low. Burger was average but somewhat greasy, so it didn’t sit well afterwards. I had trouble finding an option that would work well with a long plane flight. Perhaps this restaurant wasn’t the best choice. Wife’s spinach — beet — apple salad was good. No complaints there. Service not bad — we were waited on fairly quickly and the food came out in good time. Getting the check wasn’t as quick. I would think they would deliver the check with the food — or ask if they should — given that every customer is time-limited by circumstance.

First of all, Todd English’s name should not be on this! airport or no airport, don’t attach your name if you cant back it up even a little. Food: «eh” — steak tips were fine, tender but not well seasoned. French onion soup was good. noodle lettuce wrap with soy steak tips was fine, bland and overpriced though($ 26) Service: fine– mediocre atmosphere– its an airport, so yeah it is what it is bottom line: convenient stop with fine food but it is overpriced for what it is(all airport food is though) but it definitely is not a Todd English spot in any sense of the word would i recommend? no– go to wolfgang and get pizza

The Chicken Palliard and the corn bread with maple syrup were both awesome. It wasn’t crowded or loud. Iced tea was below average.

Breakfast quesadilla here must be one of the better things to eat in the terminal. Would be just as good with half as much smoked salmon

Waiters couldn’t figure out who was assigned to our table. When we asked to be served, the order was taken but the simple burger order didn’t show up for 48 minutes. When we asked for the manager, she didn’t even show up. We just left. Forget Todd English.

Sometimes you are stuck in a terminal with limited options, this is one of those times. Speaking with the waitstaff was like trying to communicate with person recovering from a drug habit. They are cranky and irritated and stare at you with all the attention and joy of watching paint dry. At least the food order wasn’t messed up. A decent place to grab a bite while waiting your flight in JFK. I have to say the seating host was great. He was light hearted and quick to make a joke without being too overbearing. What other reviewers said is true… THESERVICEISSLOWWWWWWWWWWWW… We waited like an hour for our steak strips and burger to come. The food was A-OK. Nothing fancy but definitely better than the airplane food. Also we sat as far away from the kitchen as possible however it was still stifling hot!

Really great food — and not just for an airport. I had the French Onion soup and it was perfect. There is a good variety of choices on the menu. If you have enough time between flights, give it a try.

In my opinion, you can’t really expect a 5 star restaurant at any airport; we’ll need to review based on airport standards, which to me is average food(not bad) with good service. I dined here for dinner with my husband before our flight departure, our flight was delayed so we had plenty of time to spare; we were seated right away since it wasn’t too busy(probably half tables filled). The food here was decent, especially their steaks, the beef they used were surprisingly high quality, so tender and flavorful. Our server was very friendly and nice, greeted us with a smile and brought our food out really quickly; one star off because she forgot to put in our Onion Soup order, but she apologized. Overall, we were pleased with our visit and would come back if we visit NYC again and have the time to spare.

For the crime of wanting a decent meal before flying across the country, my husband and I are paying with a day of nausea. I don’t know who Todd English is, but I assume he’s some large-headed celebrity chef, because normal chefs don’t feel the need to put their name on the food or to ruin perfectly simple, classic meals with a bunch of unnecessary nonsense. Husband had a burger, which he said was good, but not great. It came with a pile of fries that looked wonderful, but were soggy and oversalted. The only crispy part of the fries was the random pile of black herbs sitting *under* the fries. The herbs were also salty. The burger came served on a brioche, which, apparently, justifies its hilarious price tag. Now, I know that airport food can cost twice as much as food in another location, but even at half the price, it would have been a ripoff. The portabella quesadilla was just a travesty, start to finish. A quesadilla is such a classically easy dish, it really takes a celebrity chef to screw it up. How? Well, you could put four different cold salsas on top of it, along with a massive pile of cold onions and a wholly unnecessary mess of cold, slimy cilantro, so that food that is meant to be hot and crispy is cold and soggy after the fourth bite. The corn salsa was sweet, which might have been OK on its own, but made no sense with the other flavors. The salsa fresca was tasteless, comprised of mealy tomatoes. The avocado crema was just confusing and didn’t go with anything else. It’s pretty much thin green sour cream. I’m not sure what the additional oily green mess smeared all over everything was supposed to add. As for the portabellas, they were homeopathic-grade, i.e. scarcely detectable. I pulled the quesadilla apart just to confirm their microscopic presence. The interior of the dish contained far more red onions than mushrooms, which made the giant pile of onions on top really seem like overkill. By that time, the cheese was a sad, congealed mess and the tortilla was simply wet. This meal cost $ 40! It was maybe worth 9. But at Todd English, you will pay $ 9 to add some chicken to your already ridiculously overpriced salad. An order of chips and salsa costs $ 8. Note to Todd English: chips and salsa should be free, on the table, when you sit down. If your cost for chips and salsa is more than 50 cents a serving, you need to sue your suppliers. And if you legitimately think you should be making a profit of $ 7.50 on chips and salsa, your customers should be suing you. Class action lawsuit, anyone? We should have known what we were getting into when we noticed that each table was stocked with 3 bottles of water: plain, Fiji, and Pellegrino. No doubt if you so much as touch them, you’ll be charged, probably at a 600% markup. Anyway, now we’re both sick to our stomachs, and we have an entire day of travel ahead of us.

You have to be kidding me. Does Todd English even know that his name is associated with this place? Did his agent ever inform him that he cut this deal? You might want to check your portfolio, Todd. The only reason we ended up here was because it was directly opposite from our gate, we had about one hour until we boarded our next flight, and we were absolutely starving after being on the go for almost 20 hours with only airline food to sustain us. All of those factors led to a really bad decision. Feel like paying $ 18 for a burger? How about $ 16 for a «Kobe» hot dog? I certainly wasn’t going to opt for the $ 35 steak with the option of paying another $ 10 for a baked potato on the side. Talk about wallet rape…

When you are in the airport, your choices are limited. So we ended up here because it’s the beginning of our vacation and we were too early for our flight(thanks to allocating time for traffic, and there is no traffic!). Anyways, service is SLOW, drinks are weak, food is ehh and it’s expensive. We had 2 drinks, 1 soup, 1 burger($ 18bucks) and salad… for $ 70 blah…
