Lou’s Custom Exhaust

Went to Lou’s to get the flex pipe on my car’s exhaust repaired. Dealership quoted me at $ 1800. Lou’s did the whole job (plus some extra parts that needed replacing) for $ 375, and cover the part with a 2-​year warranty.
Folks at Lou’s were pleasant, efficient, and knew their stuff. I will be going back for other repairs!

Fast forward a couple of months, my exhaust was leaking bad. I ended up buying a new exhaust for my car. I went to a motorsport shop to get it installed. They mentioned that whoever (Lou’s) did the work before was very bad at welding. The person did not weld correctly which results in exhaust leak and damage.
To make the long story short — you pay for what you get. The guys that work here are not «pros», they just trial and error to fix the issue instead of investigating and determining the root cause of my exhaust issue that I had.

I had an exhaust issue with my car and my dealership reccomended these guys. They took me in same day, as soon as I got there. They fixed the problem and the craftsmanship was great. These guys are very knowledgeable, and friendly with a great price. I highly recommend them.

I have used Lou’s three times to repair various issues with my car (exhaust issues after an accident, tune-​up, and throttle body), and they have always taken great care of it.
As another reviewer said, I’m skeptical about mechanics as a female. The guys over at Lou’s are super nice, respectful of my time and my car, and always take the time to check out my brakes for me too. Pricing has been much lower than elsewhere, especially for the high-​quality work they do.

Disclaimer: I am cautious about mechanics. When you’re a woman, you go into shops with your guard up, ready to be talked down to or given the «I’m not allowed by law to let you leave with the car like that» crap. Because of this, I’ve made sure to learn how to detect BS from a mechanic.
When the muffler on my old Taurus was dying and the cost to repair was more than the worth of the car itself, a car-​savvy coworker suggested Lou’s in Quincy. I brought it there, and walked in to one of the cleanest shops around. Not only did they fix the Taurus’ muffler for ¹⁄₃ of the price the mechanic quoted (most mechanics replace entire systems, hence the high prices), they also spray-​painted it so it looked better.
Since then, all our cars come here when he have exhaust-​related issues. Never was I up-​sold on other services, or given any of the BS you get from some not-​so –reputable places (*coughcoughPrimeToyotacoughcough*).
Since then any exhaust issue I’ve had, I’ve brought it to Lou’s. I can’t recommend them enough.

Was recommended there by my usual mechanic. Not only did they take me ASAP, they called to «apologize» that it might be a little more to fix (they found an additional problem)… and they were STILL half of what it would be anywhere else. I did not mind, needless to say. Got my car back, it no longer sounded like a deranged lawn mower (yay!) — and the owner actually waited for me because I was running late (darn T), even though he had an appointment to get to. Good deal!

Great business. Fixed a catalytic converter for about ¹⁄₃ the price of another place I’ve gone to. Usually when I hear the word catalytic converter, I instantly thing $ 1500+ coming out of my pocket, but I paid $ 400 and it’s definitely helped me with my budgeting of car expenses.

Lou’s is the only place for automotive exhaust work.
My GF’s car was rear ended and the exhaust hangers broke in the collision. I took it to Lou’s in Quincy, and they took excellent care of the car. I didn’t have an appointment, and didn’t even bother to call ahead, but they brought the car in right away and put it up on the lift. They inspected the car and told me they could create all new hangers, while saving the factory exhaust system, and saving me money in the process. The work was fast and of a very high quality.
I would recommend Lou’s Quincy location for any exhaust related work. From high performance upgrades to repair of factory systems these guys can do it all!
