OWNERVERBALLYABUSESDISABELEDMAN. On Sunday 11⁄29 I visited Southside Quincy. Upon entering, Sean, the owner, says to me «we’re closed». Due to disability, I have a service dog, so next Sean says«no dogs allowed». So after I order an ale, Sean goes off the deep end because I said something about the bathroom. His behavior was so bad I had to leave. BTW they have a urinal that has no running water. So, I return on the following Tuesday, Sean shows up again, I tell Sean, «never talk to me like that again». Well, Sean goes right to battle stations again, starts yelling like a girl, hides behind a big male bartender(Mike) and calls the police. Sean the coward. Anyway this guy has no character. DON’T GOHERE! everything is over priced. The chef has no creativity. And, oh BTW Sean is abusive.

Great spot to watch some Saturday college football. The staff was great and very friendly and attentive even when it got busy. Definitely will be back.

Great lunch specials friendly staff. They have some typical pub food but also they put a twist on classics. Steak and cheese egg rolls to spicy sausage sandwiches Presentation is great. Great variety of beer for a small place.

South Side is right around the corner from my house, so I go there a few times a month for quick bites and beer. The food is good. Nothing totally original, and I’ve never been displeased with it. I really like the steak fajita wrap. The staff has always been friendly, but are a bit slower when they get packed. I definitely prefer to stop by on a weekend afternoon than a weeknight. All other things aside, it’s a solid neighborhood joint with pricing you really can’t complain about.

I’ve been here half a dozen times. Kind of in a weird spot — just off the Burgin Pkway near a lot of automotive shops — but it’s nice enough on the inside. I go on Monday nights for $ 2 pizza and 35 cent wings. The bartender is a nice guy. Remembers that I drink a 20 oz Coors light.

This place would have been cool… too bad the workers only pay attention to the regulars or their friends. South Side in Quincy is trashy. With so many bars/pubs in the area, why waste your time on bad service and half decent food?

Not a luxury bar environment, but if you are looking for a fun night out with friends in an unassuming bar scene this is a good bar to go to. Local hometown people and friendly staff. All ways stun time at the South Side Tavern

Good food, salads are fresh and not wilted, and good hamburgers cooked right. Good service. It’s a sportsbar with several flat screens.

Absolutely horrible. The floor is always soaking wet with beer, it’s always obnoxiously loud with a mixture between college-aged kids and 40-somethings playing ‘frat house’. The beer selection is limited to Bud Light, Budweiser, and Heineken – and only bottles. Literally nothing on tap. If you’re not allowed to have parties at your apartment(and your parties usually consist of a bunch of obnoxious kids you don’t know ANYWAY), then this place is for you. Except expect to pay a lot more for the same bottled beer you can get down the street. On the weekends they have live bands, which is the only redeeming quality about this place and the only reason it’s not getting one star, as it operates much better as a small venue while the dive-bar atmosphere fits the live band vibe nicely. If you want to go to a bar, go to a real bar. If you want to go to a sports bar with great food, go to Coop’s. If you want to watch a bunch of drunk frat boys yell at each other while hitting the«Punching Machine» in the corner, women in their mid-40’s pretend to dance to music they’ve never heard before, and the staff ignore spilled beer, dirty bathrooms, and paying customers trying to order food, while you enjoy a $ 4 bottle of Heineken, go to the South Side Tavern.

If I could do 3.5 I would. This place is kind of like a legal frat party with great tvs and actually really good food. I kind of envision it as a place where the might be a good drunk ruckus before closing time on Saturday nights. We got there at 6 on a Friday and no one was eating but that’s actually why we went. No table service, you order at the bar(which was fine). Weird that our beers had to be poured outside but whatever. The nachos were really good and the burgers were really well-above average. The waitress did literally wipe food off our table with her bare hand but honestly, I wasn’t too surprised?(Nor was I offended, I mean, I wasn’t eating off the table!). I wasn’t quite sure the toilet was actually secured to the ground but overall it was an adventurous time and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch the game, grab a few beers, and have some good pub food.

Great food — the buffalo chicken things that look like crab rangoon are delicious. they have NTN trivia. a little expensive for what it is, but not bad. Def the best bar in the area. Skip the bars on Hancock Street and come here. Oh and the bartender is really really nice.

Dive bar in my neighborhood that I can walk to. Been a few times and it’s good for a casual night out at the bar. Food is ok. pizzas and typical bar food. Waitstaff is friendly and there seems to be a bunch of regulars when we go. When I drive by on weekends there seems to be a younger crowd outside so is probably a mixed bag depending on what night you go. Last time I was there they were setting up beer bong but we had to leave unfortunately. Would like to make it back for that since it seems to be a weekly thing. used to be called the Cottage and I think a lot of peoples reviews fall under that heading.

The South Side Tavern is literally 4 doors down from my house, has great bar pizza, and is a good spot to catch the game. It’s small, as it’s former name(The Cottage) suggest. The staff is friendly and the place can get pretty busy. There’s a tiny outdoor seating area and plenty of parking spaces. There’s been beer pong here on Thursday nights, which I think is pretty awesome.
