Friendly places are often underrated, but when you get good beer(Winter Street Strawberry Ale) and good food(gyro) what else can somebody ask for. Normally closed Sunday but with 3 on 3 tourney in town, we got lucky. Check out Washington Park and the Lincoln — Douglas debate statue nearby.

Delivery order totaled $ 60+. They added 15% gratuity — to a delivery order. Unaware, I tipped at the door. Wonder how long this has been going on that I wasn’t aware of. Was served reach dressing with the Irish nachos instead of sour cream. That was an unpleasant discovery, believe me. Ordered no jalapeños, ticket says no jalapeños, got jalapeños. Part of order didn’t arrive with food, had to wait for it to be resent. Not the first time this has happened.

I’ve visited this place a couple times. The food was good. I had a patty melt on one visit then the Pot O’ Gold(appetizer sampler) the second time. Both were full of flavor and I was very pleased with the quantity and quality. I also tried their Irish craft beer and it was really good. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful in their suggestions. I highly suggest this place.

Worst service i have ever had. Waitress rolls eyes at customers. She needs to go to customer service school.

The BLT was touted as big, large and tall on the menu, but all that was between two pieces of toast were three small pieces of bacon, two slices of tomato and a small piece of lettuce, with a dab of mayo to complete its skinny ensemble. I tried this restaurant last year and was disappointed in its fare. My companion and I were hungry on arrival at the restaurant with high expectations since we were told that this place had quality food, and we left no longer hungry, because we had lost our appetite being served mediocre food. I always give a restaurant two attempts before I finalize my review of it, and it lived up to my disappointment again. Its remarkable fanfare designed to piqué the excited interest of the hungry BLT lover fell flat on its face.

Craft beer selection was awesome and flight of 9 samples was an AMAZING deal($ 9)…especially for 5 ounce glasses. The food was good, but they were out of burgers which is what everyone wanted. Seemed odd to be out of burgers on a Saturday night so that was pretty disappointing.

I’m from Kansas City, in moving to Quincy I’ve tried so many bars and restaurants. O’Griff’s definitely ranks up there for bar food. I can’t comment on the alcohol because I haven’t tried it. The place on the inside is nice and has a great element. The food there is great and reasonably priced. The staff is nice and friendly and takes good care of you. I will be going there again and again. So, as a bar that serves food. I’ll give it a 5.

Terrible beer!!! Didn’t have food so can’t write a review on that. The service was great, but the beer was horrible & was totally watered down. The bar had a really funny, terrible smell also! Don’t waste your time go some where else!

We just experienced the best french fries, ever! My husband never eats french fries once they have cooled. He continued to eat them and remarked how good they were, even cold. I tend to not care for coleslaw outside our own variations. However, this was extraordinary. It was creamy, not runny, and not sweet. It was presented with shaved lemon slices. I tried the Ivy’s Blueberry Ale. It complimented my lunch(catfish strips) in an unexpected, yet delicious, refreshing way. The ambiance was nostalgic, yet modern. Televisions were varied, strategically positioned and volume was set to enable normal conversation. Service was impeccable, as well. I’m sad I have taken so long to try this restaurant!

Had a bad experience a year ago decided to go back and give it a try no change night time management a joke they spend more times flirting with their own workers then making sure you get your food on time and hot and even tasting any good. I would not call it a family place didn’t feel safe walking out to the back parking lot.

If it was possible to give a review with negative stars I would. I won’t mix words here… After a first, and rather disappointing, trip here back in the summer, I gave this place a second chance over Thanksgiving. My mistake. Three complaints: 1) This place has a major identity crisis. It’s an Irish bar? No, they pride themselves on Italian food? No, it’s a microbrew? No, it’s a pool hall? Figure it out & try to excel at 1 thing first & foremost. 2) If I knew what toilet water tasted like, I’m sure it would resemble their beer. It’s bad when you got to a microbrewery, have their beer, and then are left wanting one of the Bud Lights, instead, out of the cooler. 3) Your staff knows nothing about beer in general, much less your own beer. I’m not being a beer snob here. I’m surprised your bartenders of past here knew which way to pull the tap to make beer… er toilet water… come out into the glass. There won’t be a third trip to O’Griffs.

Probably one of the better pub/bars in Quincy. I’m from there and as far as I know it’s the only place to get a decent beer if that’s what you’re into. Most other places only have your typical bud light, coors light. They actually brew the beer themselves, and while it’s not the greatest I’ve had it does nicely for a smaller brewpub. The stout can be a bit thin but the IPA is my favorite beer there. As far as food, I’d say it’s on the higher end of pub quality food if not a bit greasy. There are a few things you can get there that I’ve not really seen elsewhere. The pig tails are delicious. The burgers aren’t bad and the fried appetizers are pretty good for the cost. It definitely satisfies the craving for pub food Service has always been pretty good. I tend to drink quickly and need a lot of refills; the servers are always attentive and keep my glass filled. I never have to wait very long at the bar to get a drink either. It’s usually not too crowded, even on weekend nights, which is a plus in my book. There are a few pool tables in the back which are decent enough quality, however, some of the provided cues don’t really have their tips anymore.

Really bad greezy tenderloin and the french dip was not as good as it used to be. They also took my credit card over the phone, as they don’t take checks and then tried to charge me when they delivered. Ended up having to pay cash… sure hope it doesn’t show up on my credit card

This was the first time I tried Corned Beef and Cabbage and man was it good! Portions were huge so it’s a great place to come if you are hungry but even better place if you like good food! We ate here twice in one day — for lunch I had a big salad that was more than I could eat but I gave it a great effort because it was really good. My husband had pasta that was great as well. We ordered Corned Beef and took it home for dinner because I didn’t want to cook and it was delicious. I didn’t expect it to be so tender. I don’t drink beer so having a pub that also has good food is important to me. The beer sampler is so interesting — We didn’t try it this time but we saw one and it’s definitely something I want to order next time. There are some beers that I like to taste but wouldn’t be brave enough to try them all. With the sampler, everyone can find out what they want and order from there. We will definitely be going back and taking friends and family!

From what I’d heard from others, their beer has steadily improved. I was in town on a business trip & wanted a salad. I tried their oatmeal stout & it was pretty good. The place was pretty empty, but it was 3pm on a Monday. The one bartender seemed bored and the people at the bar were mostly there to watch the NCAA tourney. The salad was good, pretty typical of a pub. The beer was good also — I wish I’d tried their porter, but I wanted to go outside in the sun. I’d go again if I were in town.

God awful worst hamburger anywhere. I ordered it medium rare, they sent it to hell and put a bun on it and said«here you go, can I get you anything else?»

An irish pub in an Illinois town near Chicago? The devil you say! Love me some micro brews. I got the Irish amber and the honey brown and they were both delicious. Amber was a little smoother, honey brown was a little more bitter and biting. But if you’re into that… For food I got the jerk pork chops. Good, not very jerky though. And I like that the cook ended up slicing into both chops to make sure they were cooked. I don’t do that on my own grill and this guy is doing it for a job? Just one bartender taking care of the bar and the tables, service was a little slow but she was very cool and nice. Definitely worth it if you need cold beer and hot food.

While living in Quincy this was my favorite bar. The drinks are pretty cheap, the food is pretty good, and the bar tenders are pretty. I highly recommend ordering the Seasoned Fries. They are the best i have ever tasted. The only microbrewery in town, great place to spend a Saturday night, a few blocks away from the Mississippi, and 2 blocks away from Back Waters, the the only night club in town worth going to. Everything in the place is great except the restrooms. Its pretty small for the size of the bar, and they almost never have paper towels. All in all, its a pretty cool spot.

Located a few blocks from the Mississippi, on the north side of the square. I would describe it as a bar that also serves food. Understandable since it is a microbrewery. I was unable to sample the beer as it was a working lunch but the food and service was fantastic. I had the Thursday special: tenderloin w/fries for $ 4.99. Excellent value for the quality of the food. I would order it again. I docked them one star for«bar» bathroom. With food this good I would expect cleaner & paper towels!
