This is the place in our area that delivers. If something else would open up I am not sure they could survive. With that said I would like to, offer this long time restaurant some advice 1. Update your ordering system. Or hire people who don’t need address repeated 3 times. Honestly, I go all the way to west allis to pick up pizza. I call and they know who I am. 2. Fries are never done. Why ? 3. Each time I order the food gets worse. 4. Both hubby and I can not eat marinara sauce. It’s just not good as others report. 5. Pick up is really messed up. Lost orders and takes very long. Yet delivery is about half hour. HOWISTHAT. 6. Price is often different for same order. Usually burger and fries(fries you have to ask for crispy and then maybe they will be ok to eat or burned 50⁄50 risk) Really sad they seemed not to care, and as others report they will never apologize. I heard a mama wells is opening in area. Yippie

Dined-in on Wednesday evening(Dec 23rd) with some friends from Caledonia. I recall eating there once before and it wasn’t memorable one way or the other. However, this time around the food was actually terrible… and trust me, I’m not saying that lightly. Within our party of four, we ordered two dishes of spaghetti and two dishes of eggplant parmesan. The main thing that killed our meals was the marinara sauce. Not sure how it could taste as bad as it did but it was really bad. We tried to move the sauce away to get at the plain noodles but that was a pretty futile activity. Further, the eggplant parmesan pieces were a saturated greasy mess. Lastly, my wife’s spaghetti had Italian sausage. The link was largely cold… barely cooked. This awful meal started out with French onion soup that was so salty that it was completely inedible and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The waitress actually said that they could water down the broth… REALLY? Maybe the ingredients should be added in the correct amounts in the first place rather than trying to dilute them down after the fact. Instead, we asked that she bring the other available soup… something like a creamy potato with bacon. It was marginal at best and somehow tasted like potato salad rather than soup. Even though we were all really hungry when coming to the restaurant, not a single one of the four of us could make any dent in our main dish. We would have walked away hungry had it not been for the salad and garlic bread. The waitress was accommodating and pleasant but this meal was a disaster especially considering that we spent in excess of $ 55. When the waitress returned at the end of the meal and found our plates full, she asked if there was some problem. I replied that the sauce tasted bad and asked that she taste it in the kitchen. She returned to state that it tasted fine to her. I guess our complaints fell on deaf ears as she brought boxes for all of us anyway. My three dining partners didn’t want to make a scene and they brought their uneaten meals home. I left mine on the plate as a statement to the kitchen knowing that it would go straight to the garbage if I had brought it home.

Screwed up our to go order– didn’t get one meal and was supposed to get a refund and never got it. Don’t waste your time ordering from here– not worth it!

Ordered delivery while staying in a local hotel. Our pizza arrived promptly and fresh. It was large, thin, and cut into small squares. We ordered half cheese, half mushroom. The cheese was delicious and the food was overall addicting. The pizza was very filling. I would definitely order from here again.

Awesome food and the best pizza for miles!!! We always get our carry out pizza from here and it’s been perfect every time, at least for the past 13 years I’ve lived in the area. Service is always great!

While visiting Wisconsin, my friends and I had dinner at DeRango. Cute restaurant, very family friendly, good service, and decent food. Our server(I can’t remember her name) was upbeat, friendly, and very attentive. Between the 6 of us, we had a few rounds of drinks, a salad, and two pizzas. The wine was decent and when we ordered shots, my bartender friend gave instructions to the server on how to make the drinks and they happily accommodated. The salad and pizzas were good — love how thin their crust is.

This review is lucky to get 1 star! Every take out or eat in order is terrible. Tried to give it more than one try, 3 strikes and you’re out! 1st time we tried the henny penny chicken and fried shrimp, Chicken wasn’t horrible, breading on the chicken was soggy, no flavor, fries were cold. Husband had shrimp, bad idea, same breading they use for the chicken, no flavor… well if you wanna call fishy taste a flavor, then i guess it did have some. Yuck! *STRIKE1* 2nd time we had hamburgers, the meat tasted old and really dry. Again, fries were cold and soggy. Nothing we put on this burger could help it! *STRIKE2* 3rd time was hopefully going to be a charm… umm NO! This is an ITALIANRESTAURANT! I got spaghetti and meatballs and my husband got spaghetti and italian sausage. Spaghetti was so overcooked it was mush! Meatballs are NOT homemade, I SAYAGAIN, THISISANITALIANRESTAURANT! I ordered a small appetizer size gnocchi. I opened the container and the gnocchi was all stuck together like a big wad of gum. With the dinners, you get a salad and bread. I didn’t know you could screw up a salad but it was nothing but iceberg lettuce, old wilted iceberg lettuce. *STRIKE3* YOU’REOUT! Manager was very nice and apologized, but I know nothing will be done about the food! Little tip: if you want italian, Olive garden is better! If you want hamburgers go to red robin, if you want chicken, go to Meyers on forest home avenue. If you want steak go to 5 o’clock club in Milwaukee. Racine people, if you want good food… leave Racine more often! There is NOTHINGTOEATINTHISCITY, WELLNOTHINGGOODWORTHTHEMONEY!

The steaks are the best around. The pizza is better when you dine in. When you order a dinner entrée you get soup, salad, bread, and the entrée. The pasta entrée’s are enough to get three meals out of. We always leave with a doggy bag. We never have room for dessert so I cannot say how their desserts are. We are there almost every Saturday night when we are not doing anything else. We would be there every Saturday night if we could. The management and most of the employees are exceptional. When we had a problem with our pizza, the manager came to our table and apologized and took very good care of us. There are a couple of waitresses that are not very attentive to the customers but there are some great waitresses that are fun to talk to and give great service.

They have the best steak ever. They don’t take reservations and the décor isn’t fancy, but they cannot be beat for huge juicy steaks at a reasonable price. Service can be spotty at times, hence 4 and not 5 stars.

Food was fantastic 3 stars though for the service!!! Waited 30 minutes to get a box and bill! Never refilled our drinks, didn’t see if food was good! Another waitress had to take care of us!!! Completely unacceptable we will come back but request another waitress!

Decent food but after the chaos of our last take out order without even an apology, I will never go here again. We waited over 2 hours for an order that was supposed to take 30 minutes. When we arrived to pick it up we were told the order had gotten lost. 20 minutes later they return, having found they order and the reason it had not been made was because the order didn’t specify spaghetti or mostaccioli on a side order! At this piont they had STILL not even started the order! They offered no apology and even had the nerve to charge us full price. This place is forever closed in my book.

This place is absolutely our favorite. To dine in or for takeout. All of their food is awesome. We have lived here 14 years and never had a bad dinner. Ever! They are polite, quick, and accommodating especially if you dine with kids. You can’t eat the whole entrée and will end up taking some home. Highly Recommended.

What I particularly like about this place is the fact that you can get a decent salad and cup of soup, and an excellent dinner, for about $ 10. The décor is aging, but it has a certain charm. The wait staff are all quite friendly, and they are very good about re-filling drinks without being asked. It is a popular restaurant, so try to avoid the most common dining times in order to ensure that there will be a table immediately available for you.

In this area this is the only place to order from. For me it’s just ok. The fries are never done. Soggy and some have even been raw inside. Three ppl in my family and none of us like the sauce on pizza. Actually all of us had such bad acid coming up after that we have never had anything with sauce again. That was 15 years ago. The thing I wish they would change most is their phone system. When a order is placed it is hard to hear/understand. Always repeating. And why not have a system where they already know my address like everyone else. It is 2014.

The smothered cod was rubbery and the red sauce tasted like they opened a can of tomato paste added sugar and dumped it on the pasta.

The pizza burger is as I remember it: awesome-o! It is one of those things that doesn’t require a gentle hand or utensils. Grab, push together the bread, and fit it in your mouth. If you are feeling a little dirty right now, rightly so, because you will be dirty… it is likely that some marinara sauce just spilled down your chin and onto shirt. I am A-Okay with spillage, because I love this sandwich! Order it with pepperoncinis, mushrooms, and mozzarella. The sausage patty is spicy and greasy and delicious, especially with the added toppings. For an extra dose of carbs, opt for a side of fries. You will receive crispy wedges, and they are yummy. They come in a small-ish gratin dish, so you are not overwhelmed by the amount of fries. When it comes to the pizza burger, I highly recommend sharing with a friend. It is a lot-o-bread and a lot-o-sausage. Not saying everyone can’t hold their own, but your tummy may not be able to fit the fries… or the extra large sundae you get if it’s your birthday. Kudos to DeRango’s for having the world’s coolest birthday treat. It is a mondo sundae that a table of 6 shared. Imagine if ONE person tried to take that thing on. Nothing comes in small packaging here. Just ask the sheet pizza.

One of the few South Shore family restaurants that still delivers an over-the-top old-school Italian dining experience. Just perfect.

Not the best pizza in town, but it wins based on location. Your chances of getting sick from the pizza is 50⁄50.

I have long loved this place for their pizza — a wonderful red sauce that is almost sweet and thick enough to not get lost in the toppings. A friend recommended them highly for their steaks and indeed they make a fantastic steak! Great food and plenty of it. All that said, the servers come across as soul-tired and surly, if that means anything to your dining experience.

Seriously no one has reviewed this yet?! Derango’s has the best food! It’s a little more expensive for me so I don’t get their as often as I like. I usually get the hamburger steak which is like 12 oz and huge! I’m a big au jus lover and they have some of the best around. I even ask for a little extra when I take home my leftovers. You get salad AND soup with a warm Italian bread loaf. Friday they have the BEST clam chowder soup ever! I should find out if I can get some of that to go! Pizza is very good and there’s even a carryout window that you can buy their pizzas frozen. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Racine. Not too pricey but just enough that you know you’re getting alot of really good food with a menu to appeal all palates.
