My husbands favorite. Their root beer floats are perfect with the cheeseburgers. We don’t eat here often and when we do, the parking lot is usually packed. I stop by to pick up food sometimes, but honestly it’s better to eat it fresh and there. we like to eat at the low slung deli counter. The waitresses serve behind the bar. It’s nice to be bale to talk to the other patrons. Definitely not somewhere to have a private conversation about anything.

Love it. Been coming to this place for years; it never changes, and that’s a good thing. Cheap, satisfying, hot and fresh patties, served up in a classic cheeseburger. It’s not a gourmet burger, and it’s not probably not the best burger you’ve ever had, but it just really hits the spot sometimes. They make their own root beer, and it’s all right, but the key thing is, you can get it as a root beer float, and it’s the perfect way to accompany your burger meal. I’ve had the chicken sandwich too, and it’s a crisped up airy, chewy patty that reminds me of cafeteria food and childhood, but somehow I really like that too, served plain with just some pickles on top. Casual, fast, friendly, and CHEAP. Honestly, I think the prices are at least half of what makes this place taste so good.

Their burgers are a staple of Racine. If you have lived here for any amount of time you have tried or at the least heard of Their burgers. Great burgers and awesome 50’s style feel to the inside. Stop here for a great lunch at a great price.

I came here with my husband & his aunt and uncle because his uncle read about it in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a few months ago. It is kind of like a little hole in the wall diner that is sparsely decorated except for a big display of kewpie dolls(which I can’t stand). There is a menu behind the counter on the wall. That is the only menu in the place(so make sure you look at that before you sit down). The food comes out fairly quickly. The burgers are pretty good but nothing special. I got the chili and it was decent. They make their own root beer. Everyone at my table enjoyed the root beer but I didn’t. I don’t know what it is but I didn’t like the taste… I prefer Sprecher’s Root Beer but to each it’s own. Would I make a special trip just to come here? No. But would I come here if I was pass by? Sure… I guess it helps that it’s super cheap. Just an FYI — they don’t do grilled onions… only raw onions on your burger.

A Racine classic. Burgers prepared 20 – 30 at a time, fried up on a greasy skillet, with 10 pounds of raw, ground beef, just sitting there ready to fry. Just waiting for you to make it lunch or dinner. Cheese for your burger floating right there next to that burger, simmering in the grease. Order 3 – 4 of these burger delights… they’re small. Fries golden brown. You may want to think about ordering up 2 servings here. Wash it down with a rootbeer float, or a hand made shake. Delicious. If you love tofu, sprouts and mineral water with a lime, go somewhere else. If your a PETA whack job, please don’t stop in and rain on my parade. I love eating tasty animals. No, I’m some over weight slob. Willing to bet I’m in far better shape then any«I don’t eat anything that has a face» vegan. If you’re like minded, and love a good ‘ol greasy chesseburger, this is your place. Besides, there is nothing wrong with rewarding yourself every now and then. Life is too short.

Burger was good enough but service was terrible! The waitress Samantha, couldn’t of been more surly if she was working at Ed Bevics where it’s part of the atmosphere. Never greeted us, smiled, said your welcome… nothing. She’s in the wrong business that’s for sure. Get your burger to go. You will enjoy it more.

Another must-stop place for me on any trip to the Racine area is Kewpee’s for a delicious double cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate malt. I tell ya their double cheeseburgers burgers are so good I could eat two in one sitting! Not because they are small either, they just taste great! As the legendary Stephanie H. stated in her review, «The burger is cheesy and greasy and absolutely amazing! Also, the prices are super low!» I second that statement. Classic greasy spoon that you gotta hit up. It’s worth going out of the way for.

Always a great place to eat when I’m back in town. Great burgers and fries. The old school diner atmosphere just adds to it

I love places like this and glad we found this one. They have a cool lunch counter and a lot of creepy dolls on display. The food was inexpensive and homemade. Simple. They had their own parking lot which was nice too so we didn’t have to pay the meters on the street. Would definitely come back if we lived in the area to try the breakfast. Our waitress had a little too much attitude, I mean, not even a smile. It must be a mundane job dealing with the public, but I always hate when I feel like I’m annoying someone who’s getting paid as a representative of the establishment. I just don’t understand apathy I guess. But the rest of the experience was great! Loved the root beer floats too.

The ambiance of the little diner was adorable, even with the creepy dolls staring at you while you eat. This dive is a simple place with a simple menu. Burgers and fries is what you really want. Their burgers are good, a little on the smaller size. To me it tasted like a more fresh and real McDonalds. They are dressed with mustard, pickles, and mustard. You ask for mayo and there is ketchup on the tables. The fries were smaller krinkle fries. The food gets cold pretty fast so eat fast. For dessert get the root beer float. Its legit, with their homemade root beer. Very good. The atmosphere is local and cool. Support your local restaurants!

Excellent handmade patties, and crinkle cut fries. Very basic american food, made deliciously. The burgers are a bit small, so I would suggest the double. You get a lot of fries. The drinks come in small glasses, but you get refills so no issues. The staff wasn’t overly friendly, but no complaints! They said hello, served me my food, and took my money. Simple transaction! I would definitely suggest this for lunch if you’re in the area. BRINGCASH!

This is exactly what I want when it’s burger time. 1st& most importantly: FLAT-TOPNOTGRILL!!! It’s the 1st in many steps of how to, and how not to do burgers. The result is so much tastier, you get all that good grease that stays right there in the burger… No compare. I hear they put a little bit of liver in the ground beef… Who knows? KRINKLECUTFRIESARETHEBESTFRIES. Good shakes, root beer, root beer floats… All awesome additions. The place has the retro diner theme in full effect, since the big remodel, oh I dunno, 15−20yrs ago. It used to look like a bus station in Detroit, crouched into the corner of a parking ramp. Hey did u know that it was a rare satellite restaurant of a Michigan based chain??? Hmm… Didja?

Was here the weekend after Christmas — and we had a great experience! Two open diner seats right when we walked in, so we were able to place our order quick. I’m glad I checked Unilocal first so I knew to bring CASH and that there are no actual menus. We ordered fries, two burgers, and a rootbeer float. All of which were awesome. Before we were even finished with our first burgers our attentive waitress asked if we wanted to order two more which of course we agreed to… and dang did those things come out fast! Our tab was less than 12.00 for two people, and full bellies. It did get crowded as we were leaving — they have short hours during the day, and minimal seating, but everyone was in and out quickly and effificently! :) Cant wait to go back!

A small children friendly eatery with great fries and burgers. The servings seemed small though and I was Hungary within the hour but this is my type of old school place and diner. Prices are cheap and is another cool Racine location marked off that I have been wanting to visit for sometime. Itis cash only but there is an ATM in the place

So I stopped here after reading some reviews on Unilocal while staying the night up in Racine. First off the décor is fun and the seating is as well. They have small stools at half circular counters. The food is only a couple bucks for everything but the burgers are small(but fresh!!) I compare it to a steak and shake almost. It’s def worth a stop in to try and experience. Helpful Tips: –Cash only my friends! –Take a seat, they will come take your order. I felt kind of dumb because I went to the takeout register to order… –The menu is only simple burgers, shakes, and fries.

I love the old school burger joint vibe at Kewpee. Not sure when this was built, but it is certainly in the Art Deco style of architecture with strong horizontal lines throughout. Some people may find the abundance of Kewpie dolls(note the difference in spelling) a little off-putting, but I thought it was kind of cool. Inside, a couple of peninsula counters jut out into the dining room to make space for lots of counter seating. The burgers are of the smash-em on the griddle variety, which gives a nice crust to each side. Service is friendly, and your fellow diners are likely to be as well. Thanks to and the Sterns for clueing me in on this amazing bit of Americana in Wisconsin.

Kewpees is an excellent stop for fantastic burger and fries. I usually get the Double Cheeseburger and french fries. Occasionally I will get a strawberry shake as well. The burger is cheesy and greasy and absolutely amazing! Also, the prices are super low! Don’t expect much from the servers… Remember you are here for the food, not the service. You will notice 1920’s décor with dolls around the walls. It’s fascinating to read about the business and how it all started and changed throughout the years! If you like great burgers and fries at an amazing price… Come to Kewpees.
