Ugh. Thankfully the service here wasn’t bad or else you’d have no stars. Apparently, they forgot we had a reservation and asked a poor older woman to move during her lunch so they could push tables together. I asked for a cherry Coke. Out ok Coke? Ok fine. My girls ordered Old Fashioned’s. Out of oranges. And AND they made it with Whiskey when they asked for brandy! Coffee? Out. Out of 7 of us, 5 got pasta dishes. SPAGHETTINOODLESFORMAC N CHEESEANDCAVATOPPIDISHES?! Gross. Fail. No warning what so ever. Places run out of stuff, I get it. But everything and not warning us about the pasta? Kind of unacceptable. All of our dishes were cold. Not even a tiny bit worth their price tag! They comped us apps and desert, but still. I’m bummed. We came here with our bridesmaids for lunch and it was an epic fail. We aren’t even picky eaters! Note to self, never again. And the waitress complained about splitting the bill which we told her before we ordered. She basically told us it would take an extra 10 minutes per order. The ef?! Nobody likes their food enough to go back. My mac n cheese was not baked and was only made 1 cheese; false advertisement.

Sip is an excellent asset to downtown Racine. It has a cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food at a great price point. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow! What a great great experience. We got there late so to be fair we had the place to ourselves and likely got a lot more attention than I would expect as the norm. Regardless, top notch start to finish. Apps were outstanding — lobster wontons, steak bruschetta, and stuffed mushroom caps. I had the baked mac and cheese and they offered to make it lobster. Well gee, I can do that. I thought it was outstanding and a very healthy portion size leaving enough for lunch tomorrow. Better half had the cod sandwich which was fresh, not at all fishy, with a great homemade breading. Had fries and coleslaw left and they added more fish to the to go box so she could have a full lunch the next day. Who does that? So cool. Gave her an apple sangria gratis to try also. I don’t like sangria at all but this was very good. Even brought us a comp dessert which was some sort of brownie cookie mashup the chef was experimenting with. Knocked it out of the park with this one too. Pretty good beer selection it seems but I just stuck with Stella. It was my first visit here but man, right to the top of our rotation. I can’t wait to get back and try some more items. All that food and drink and the bill was barely $ 40. With the quality and attention we decided to leave a 100% tip so they could enjoy a few frosty beverages on us. I’ve never done anything like that before so I hope that gives you an idea how great a time we had. Give them a try — we can’t wait to go back! Awesome work guys!!!

My new favorite restaurant in Racine. The food is delicious. I’ve been for dinner and had the charcuterie with the different types of cheeses and meats and fruit and it was excellent. Also had the mini pork butt sliders topped with coleslaw. The pork was lightly smothered in a really nice BBq sauce and the little mini buns were very soft and fresh. The potato chips were very thin and crispy which I love and had some kind of seasoning on them that made them even better. Liked it so much that I went back for lunch with a coworker and had the kale salad. Again, delicious. It was tossed in a light dressing with mandarin oranges and candied sunflower seeds. Just perfect for lunch. While we were there the chef asked us to try a new pasta dish he was trying to perfect for the dinner special that weekend. It was cavitape pasta in a creamy pesto sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and it was phenomenonial. My friend gave the chef some feedback on it which he took well because he really wanted to get it right. The ambiance is a little off because it’s kind of like a diner but the menu is more gourmet and upscale so it doesn’t quite fit but doesn’t bother me. The service has been excellent both times. Love this place and will definitely be back.

We went to Sip last night and were pretty disappointed. The restaurant seems like it is falling into disrepair. We have been here at least 5 times since it opened and I can say that unfortunately this will be the last time unless something changes. The place was completely empty at 7 pm on a Saturday. That should have been our hint. However, we went in anyways. We were greeted by someone that was not the waiter, and were told that the waiter was on his way. There was no bartender. When the waiter arrived he did his best, but the restaurant did not give him much to work with. They were out of many main ingredients for their dishes. We were told they had no brisket, steak and no turkey. We ordered the artichoke dip. It was very good but not very warm. It was at this point in the meal that we started to notice the bugs crawling all over the floor. Next, our entrees came. For the most part the food was good, but it seems like this restaurant has become an afterthought for the owner and the staff. Based upon the amount of people, I would be surprised to see it last much longer.

I have been in this place a few times, but only for the sangria(which is OUTSTANDING) and we tried the hummus once. This time I went with my mom for dinner on a Friday night. The bartender was also a server, so even though there were only a couple tables, he was very busy, but did an excellent job of making sure we were taken care of. We started with the lobster wontons(you get 5 of them) and they are served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. They were very good, and my only recommendation would be to serve the chili sauce warm, instead of cold. I order the sriracha bourbon salmon and asked for mashed potatoes instead of wild rice and that was no problem at all. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was very good. Mashed potatoes were relatively bland, but the sriracha bourbon sauce helped somewhat with that. My mom ordered the chicken bruschetta and loved it! I will definitely keep this place on my list of restaurants to return to.

We’ve been several times. So far it’s been awesome. It’s a small place 6 tables setting on a bench and 3 more 4 tops and a small bar. The food ranges from super reasonable up to a steak or fish on the low twenties. Everything we’ve has been really good. Lots of attention to detail with each dish. The presentation is nice as well. Drinks are done well and reasonable. Overall this is a really good spot for couples or a party of four.

Sooooo good! Such a pleasant surprise. Food was excellent, service was great! I had the beet salad and the portabello and Brie panini. So good. Crime brûlée was perfect. A real gem for Racine!

I’ve only been here once, for a solo lunch, in an almost empty restaurant. The hostess/bartender/waitress tripletasked like a pro. I had the steak bruschetta — and it was really damn good!!! Zesty, hearty, and satisfying! A couple o brews, and that’s a damn good lunch. I’ve heard a pile of dicey reviews of this place, and I can’t wait to go back, and disprove them again. Good job, Sip! Keep up the good work.

We were visiting Racine from Milwaukee and looking for a place to eat lunch. It was a freezing cold Saturday and Sip turned out to be the perfect place for a delicious lunch. The food was very good and very generous. The waitress was friendly and efficient without being omnipresent. Ithe restaurant is attractive and the parking was easy. The final good thing was that my husband inadvertently left his credit card at the restaurant and they are graciously mailing it to us with no hassle. I highly recommend Sip!

Late lunch on Saturday January 10th. The waitress quickly brought big beautiful glass mugs of pale steaming green tea. My brie and portabella panini melted in my mouth. I loved the fresh rosemary leaves pressed onto the panini. My husband had the Sip burger — delectable!

We went to Sip on this Saturday night, and I was very pleasantly surprised! We were visiting from Madison, and when my mom suggested we try this new place in Racine(she had heard great things about a kale salad), I must say I had my reservations. But I am very glad we went there because we had such a great experience! They were busy(good sign to me), and we were seated right away. The waiter was great. He was attentive to us without being pushy, and we received our food in the perfect amount of time. Now, the food — oh was it delicious! Our group of 4 got some appetizers to share(chorizo filled mushrooms, garlic mozzarella broccoli, and artichoke dip). The artichoke dip was incredible. I would definitely go back for this. We each got a meal and ended up sharing with each other. I got the steak bruschetta, which was presented beautifully and the flavors were well matched. I would have liked a little more seasoning on the steak, but everyone was saying my dish was the star of the table. We also got crème brûlée and a chocolate flour-less cake, which were good. The best part was when we got the check. We had drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert and coffee for 4 people and it was all for under $ 100! I’m very happy Racine has such a nice place to go to — pleasant atmosphere, great service, delicious, high quality food all at an affordable price! Definitely recommend!

We went on a Friday night around 8pm. The place was quite small with only one other table they were serving. After being seated and warmly greeted by our waiter, we started to look through the wines. Soon afterwards, we started hearing the very loud waitress having conversations with our waiter before she even left the dining floor. Even after she went into the kitchen, the place was so small that you could hear everyone speaking, so the fact that she was talking and laughing VERY loudly and obnoxiously was very irritating. After the bartender caught on that we were getting annoyed, she went and told loud waitress to quiet down, after which there was a bit of a lull, but before long, she went back to having a loud conversion with our waiter about some earlier customers she had(very unprofessional). I was so grateful when she finally went home about an hour after we came in. She makes the place trashy, I honestly thought she may have been drunk. Aside from that, the fish fry was quite good and the bottle of Cabernet we ordered was excellent. We also had an appetizer of chessy broccoli, which was surprisingly flavorful and perfectly done. Thankfully OUR waiter was gracious and respectful. He never mentioned the specials, though, and we had to overhear them from another table that came in after us, who was seated by the bartender. The atmosphere is cute and cozy but the waitress ruined a large part of my dining experience and the waiter we had seemed a bit too novice to provide us with the best service, so I give the place 3 stars because they make up for the disappointments with pretty good food.

Stopped in and had a chicken and roasted veg wrap. It was very delicious. The asparagus soup was also delightful. It was great they were open on a Sunday afternoon; not many places are.

Went her with great friends and loved the experience. We split the fish fry(super fresh tasting perch) and loved it. We don’t live in Racine but highly recommend this new local restaurant for any who do or are traveling through.

Had a terrific meal in a fun and energetic atmosphere on Friday night here. Service was friendly and engaging. We felt well tended to and were given good suggestions for food and drinks. I had the fish fry, light and tasty perch. We also had the beef sliders– a must try. We like the menu variety Sip has to offer, their fresh flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Welcome to Racine!

I went to Sip over the weekend for lunch with my sister, step-mom, and niece. The restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere. We had three of their salads and one sandwich between the four of us, and all of the food was delicious and well thought out. The service was very good, and I’ll definitely be going back.

I’ve been here twice now for lunch and the food is great. I’ve had both the roasted chicken and vegetable wrap and the caesar salad(they’ll add chicken for $ 2). Really tasty and makes for a healthy and light lunch.

2.5 stars So promising! Yes only second night open, how wine given the history of the owner and the chef, expected better. Love the space and what they did to transform the place. Need more than one waitress and fewer hostesses(5 or so?) Great vibe walking in, lots of excitement then crickets while sitting at our table. Finally flag down host to ask for water and drink menu, no drink menu, host wasn’t quite sure of selections so we had to order without a clue(wine) of what we would get and at what cost. Ended up ordering an appetizer from hostess like our drinks because the waitress hadn’t had time to check in with us. When waitress did stop over she took our main entrée order. A bit later appetizer came, had to flag down anyone to get silverware and napkins. No lie that within 6 mins of getting said appetizer that we had barely started she brought out our main courses. There wasn’t room on the table. The rest of the dining experience we were ignored. My biggest issues: short wine pour for my glass but the table across the way had 2 glasses filled much more significantly, chef visited that table 3 times during their service that we were there for, we figured later that it was the parents of the chef or waitress. Again, so promising, get another waitress, space out the orders, don’t ignore your tables you are not related too and create a drink and dessert menu. I wish them great success but really hated getting less than stellar service.
