Sure McDonald’s is McDonald’s but this one is ridiculous. We sat in the drive through for 15 minutes! They have double the lanes but obviously not double the workers. I’m guess the double lanes shorten the line and make you think you won’t have a long wait. It’s an illusion. There is still just one pay window and one pick up window. Sigh… do better.

As far as McDonald’s go, this is one of the best I have ever been to. Yes, it has a large play set, as mentioned in another review, that my kids used to use when they were little. But, it also has two fireplaces, a lounge area, several flat screen TV’s, and self serve coffee pots on the counter for refills. Oh, and did I mention the awesome Thursday evening car shows in the summer? Great McDonalds!

Racine PL… In recent times, McDonald’s has been undergoing something of a renaissance into trying to become some odd upscale Starbucks-a-like, and in doing so, as a parent, I’ve been disappointed to see a number of nice playlands disappear. McDonald’s seems to have forgotten that they have the playland market cornered… so anyways, I’ve decided to review some and share some hints for other parents. This location, at first glance, might not appear to have a playland, but it actually does have a fairly large addition on the side which encloses one of the area’s bigger playlands. With an area set aside for seating and eating, it is actually a great choice for families with younger kids. The playland isn’t big and might not present that much for older kids to do, but an air hockey table is also available. I find that the playland is usually only lightly patronized, but occasionally is mobbed. I’ve never seen any logic to that. Our last trip out there, and it was like walking into a zoo, most of the tables were filled… yet it cleared out almost completely in 45 minutes.
