pizza tastes like it has been sitting out all day; not fresh. also extremelyyyy greasy, so much so that it makes the pizza soggy and floppy. also old man working behind counter that i’ve never seen crack a smile the whole 24 years i’ve been living in rahway. i know it’s just a pizza place but the inside is just so dreary… maybe it’s just the vibes the old man is sending out though.

Food was okay. I had the italian sub and co-worker had chicken parm. The bread was horrible. Definately day old bread. Never requested my bread to be toasted. That’s the first sign of day old or frozen bread. Key to great sandwich is the bread… call Calandra’s bakery ASAP. Best bread in NJ.

After trying a few pizza places in the area, I’ve finally settled on Papa Vito’s. It’s a hole in the wall place, nothing fancy, but they do make good pizza! Thin crust, but not too thin, good amount of cheese and toppings. They deliver which is a plus for those times I don’t want to go out and pick it up.

Bleh! The pizza I got there was nasty. The dough was chewy, thick, and the pizza just tasted old. The ingredients weren’t fresh either. Canned mushrooms. The cheese was also pretty bad, and the delivery took more than an hour.

As a New Yorker who has moved to the area, all I crave is a nice good slice. Just when I was about to give up on having good pizza in my new neighborhood(I’ve tried 7 different place to no avail) I have discovered Papa Vito. Tucked away in the farthest corner of a strip mall, this pizza shop knows how to do it right. Prefect crust, great sauce and the right amount of cheese. So good!

Great pizza. I really like their sauce to cheese ratio and they have a nice crust. I’ve ordered the pie and the slice before and I would opt for the slice. Cheesy goodness. God I’m hungry.

Five stars for the price. The pizza is fabulous. No, the place is not for looks, and the man behind the counter is a grumpy old man, but the taste and price, hot diggidy! Two slices and a soda for less than four bucks.

Good pizza is hard to find in New Jersey. When I first moved there a few years ago, I visited about three or four pizza joints in my area and was sorely disappointed. I mean, they *looked* like typical pizza joints complete with the counter, the glass case showcasing food and the faded signs advertising Italian Ice, but when I tasted the crust and elastic cheese, I knew something was very wrong. That brings us to Papa Vito’s, a place right next door to a comic shop I frequent. This place looks like it was set up when wood paneling was all the rage but it’s kept clean. It won’t win any beauty contests, but some of the best food comes from places like this. The gents behind the counter are generally polite, but can get a bit surly when things get super busy. So what about the pizza? It’s fantastic. The crust is thin and crispy, while the outer edge of the crust is chewy on the inside. The sauce has a smooth flavor to it and has just the right amount of sweetness. The cheese is piled on in healthy amounts but not so much that you can’t pick up your slice and fold it in half. I’ve had their regular slices as well as the buffalo chicken, mushroom and eggplant slices. The eggplant slice was a bit oily for my tastes, but other than that I have no complaints. Papa Vito’s has good, cheap and tasty pizza at a relatively low cost, which hits the spot when you’re on the go between errands.
