Today was my first visit to Benefit to get my brows waxed and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I searched around for the brow bar for awhile and finally found it downstairs to the right of the mall entry in Belk. I thought I read on the website that I wouldn’t need an appointment, but when I got there, they had an appointment book and they were, in fact taking appointments… so call ahead if you can. Even though I didn’t have an appointment, I was penciled in with a 45 minute wait. Tia, the girl who worked with me, ended up being able to take me early, so I only waited about 25 minutes before I was seen.
Tia was AWESOME! I highly recommend her. She was extremely easy to talk to… like I’d known her forever. She drew out the brow outline and went over with me. She was quick and she made waxing as painless as it could possibly be! My brows look great!

It’s unfortunate I have to leave a bad review here because I normally really like my results, but after several negative experiences the time has come. I get my brows done by one person in particular (because of a VERY bad experience I had with another person that I will choose not to go into details on) so booking appointments can be tricky. Yesterday I made a last minute appointment with my girl for today because it was the only option for the next 5 days. An appointment during the day is not ideal for me with work, but I was able to shift around my schedule to make one of only two available time slots work during my lunch break. But then of course I get here and they have me on the schedule for the wrong time, and my girl is booked the entire rest of the day… And that was kind of that. They weren’t apologetic nor did they make any effort whatsoever to try and squeeze me in during an entire hour timeframe. I was simply told to wait for a potential no show, which never happened. So thanks for wasting an hour of my extremely busy day, Benefit. And now I’ll be hungry the rest of the day because of you too. Also I never heard the word sorry until I was literally walking away with steam coming out of my ears.
As someone who came to the brow bar at least once a month, it’s sad that I will now be looking for new places to go instead. Their customer service needs some major improvement before I’ll be back.

Shoot! I wish I could remember the sweet girl that did my brows yesterday. Tees? Something like that … oh well, she was fantastic!
Making an appointment was easy, just go to the Benefit counter, you’ll notice the adorable Benefit Brow Bar at the opening to Belk.
I loved her attitude & personality! We chatted like old friends. She did the brow mapping & explained to me about shaping. Yes, it hurts like heck! My eyes are sensitive anyway. Tees made sure I had Kleenex on hand.
She took about 15 minutes & done! And no redness, bumps or burning. And my eyebrows look amazing. I paid $ 21, so all in all, I am happy. Money well spent.

I’d never had my eyebrows shaped — I’d never really had eyebrows that were adequate enough for shaping! — but the fancy struck me on afternoon and having learned that the Benefit Brow Bar does a complimentary shaping on your birthday, I figured I’d give it a try. The ladies at the counter were friendly and helpful and I was back facing the (surprisingly pretty, pearly-​white) hot wax in no time! After the brow expert assured me my near-​invisible brows were pretty high on the naturally well-​shaped scale and only a little alteration would be needed to get them top-​notch, the wax went on and my errant brow hairs went off. OW. It stung a lot more than I expected, but at least it was over quickly! It left me grateful that I don’t need to familiarize anywhere else on my body with hot wax, so props to the ladies and gentlemen that can handle it! Afterward my brows were filled in and the redness covered by the skillful application of some concealer. It was a slight difference in appearance but even my husband noticed — and that’s saying something!

Ouch. Beauty hurts. But it is over fast. The music is live and the staff is sweet.

Wonderful experience here with Jesse who knows how to listen and give her customers honest feedback. I didn’t want too much done; just a clean-​up job. I got exactly that. Also a nice moisture was put on afterword so the sting was minimal. Will return everytime I need a clean up and a satisfying return to my «pin-​up girl» eyebrows. I knew I was in good hands the whole time and left with natural brows. Since she does such a good shaping job, I don’t need to spend this much money again for about 8 months.

My usual go to brow spot has closed in NC so I was in search of a new place and thankfully I tried this place. I’m extremely picky about my brows and I was more than pleased with Benefit Brow Bar’s results and service. I’ve already booked my next appointment for brows and lashes. If you’re not sure or a little hesitant ask for a free brow consultation. Don’t sleep on the little brow bar!

The brows have it and I naturally have crazy bushwoman eyebrows, so anyone that can tame my wild arches is a godsend in my book.
I had some bad brow shaping experiences in North Carolina — can we say hair raising, seriously? They love the I-​just-​got-​botox-​so-​I-​look permanently-​surprised super rounded arch or just anything that isn’t the natural arch basically.
The Benefit Brow Bar is part of the esthetician services that the Benefit counter (i.e. Benefit Cosmetics) in Hudson Belk, Crabtree provides. They do facial hair waxing, some tweezing, and a few other services that I can’t remember because I was having hair ripped from my eyes with hot wax. Yes — the things we do for beauty. I didn’t have an appointment and they were able to get me in right away which was even better.
I’ve been to many Benefit Brow bars (San Diego was my go to) but this one is unique because it actually has its own glass enclosure in the department store so you have a little peace and quiet from the mall storm. It’s a little expensive for eyebrow arching/​waxing, ($ 16-​$ 20) but I think the TLC to have neat, natural, shapely brows is worth the few extra dollars.
