MAC Cosmetics

I love MAC products, so when we moved to NC I was disappointed that the closest MAC store was over an hour away! My husband and I decided to drive up to Raleigh and check out the mall. I was so excited that the Crabtree Mall had a MAC store because I had received a sample of MAC pigment in the color «Jardin Aires» and loved it so much I wanted the full size one. When I walked in the store I tried looking for the pigment but couldn’t find it… I tried to track down an associate but they were busy with customers or so I thought (one was doing make up on a customer and the others were gossiping with each other and friends) I walked up to the counter to see if I could get someone to help me. I waited a minute or two and once I was noticed an associate asked if I needed anything… I asked if they had the pigment I was looking for, I couldn’t remember the exact name and I told her «I’m looking for a pigment called Jasmine Aires or something like that» … She saids she’s never heard of it and called another associate over. This associate looked at me in a judgmental way and I told her the same thing, that I was looking for a pigment called «jasmine aires or something like that» … I also explained to her that I got a sample online and really liked it and that I was wearing it on my eyes (so she could see the color) she also said she’d never heard of it, so I said again that I might have gotten the name wrong. She then proceeded to tell me that I probably got a «knock off» sample online because I couldn’t think of the site I ordered it from!!! I couldn’t believe this… Seriously, you accuse me of purchasing knock off MAC products online … Because YOU’VE never heard of the color? How about you stop being lazy and try searching for the color (I’m sure they have a data base on their computers with the colors they carry or have carried?) or how about this offer to show me other colors that might work? I was so insulted I left and went across the hall to BareMinerals and purchased two pigments similar to the one I wanted from MAC! The name of the color pigment I wanted from MAC was called Jardin Aires not «Jasmine Aires» … so yes I did get the name wrong but I wasn’t far off!

If I could give this no star, trust me, I would. Don’t get me wrong, I love MAC. I just despise this location. Every time that I’ve walked in, the associates are either helping someone else, talking with their friends, or even worse, gawking at me as I walk in and completely ignore me. And what I find ABSOLUTELY hilarious? I’m only spoken to when I come to the counter to pay. That’s why I’d rather shop online than be subjected to terrible, snotty, MAC associates who CLEARLY don’t understand what customer service is. Until the associates learn some decency and actually learn and exhibit what customer service is and actually DO their jobs, I’m not stepping foot into this location again.

Love MAC products, hate this location. I have never walked in and actually been helped. I usually go in knowing exactly what I want because I know that the staff are not going to help me. They are too busy clocking out for lunch, or chatting with their friends.
I was in desperate need of some Viva Glam VI and didn’t want to wait for it to be shipped if I order it online, which by the way has been my standby to avoid this location. I walked in and went to the counter. The associate said, «I am going to lunch but she can help you when she’s done». WTF?! I stood there for 5 minutes when others came in and filed behind me. I finally went into the cabinet where I knew the item was and said loudly, «I need to pay for this, now!». The associate came over, rang me up, and told the others who were waiting that she would be with them when she was finished. She went back over to gab and I walked out.
I vow from this point forward to only order MAC online.

Lip color is my new obsession and MAC’s lip colors are so rich and abundant! I love going to the counter at Belk and playing around with all the colors; it’s a great way to pass the time, and of course, without even intending to buy a lipstick, I’m walking out with a little black bag. The artists are knowledgeable about which liners look best with certain lipcolors, and what would match with my skintone. I bought the new Lady at Play with a beet liner and I’m in love.

It’s MAC people! What more can I say?
Great line of cosmetics. Although I think too thick for me for an everyday occasion, I never fall short on a night out.
These people are the bees knees! They do your makeup when you purchase over $ 50 of products, with appointment. I should say I am not a fan of the small store though, but that’s not surprising because most MACs are like this.
Good make up doesn’t have to be expensive and although MAC tends to dive off the deep end, they are usually worth the investment.
The founder of MAC Cosmetics is probably friends with founder of Victoria Secret.

MAC has the widest selection of foundation and makeup color range than any other cosmetic brand. Their products are reliable and consistent. If you have lots of questions or want a makeup application, i suggest coming on a weekday.

I’ve always heard how fantastic MAC cosmetics were, but I could never get close enough to the counters b/​c of the crowds. I happened to make a visit to the MAC store near Belk Men’s during the middle of the week before the afternoon rush. My visit was quick but worth it. The make up artist was so fun and attentive. He’s a fellow Leo, but what was so great about him was his ability to ask the right questions to uncover your needs, really hear what you’re saying, and provide the best recommendations without the bullshit and the attitude (which was much appreciated). Plus, his recommendations met my needs. Now I’m a fan of MAC.
