Wow. Where to start. This place cannot be as bad as the experience we just had. I’ll try to be concise. — Her grilled salmon was left in the oven too long. I was able to stick fork in it and use it like a mallet; it was a hockey puck. — My steak was tasteless and required the jaws of a lion… so much chewing. So much gristle. — Pecan pie –how do you mess this up! First of all, we paid for a ‘slice’ of pie, and were delivered a third of a slice ‘because they were running out’. SERIOUS. Then, it was just the. I don’t want to be one of these overly dramatic Unilocal jerks. But it was the worst pecan pie I have ever been served. Something was wrong, there was no syrup, there was no sugar. I felt strongly enough to tell the waiter to please take it to the chef. I love pecan pie and bake them every once in a while. This one had no syrup or anything in it, it was not sweet, it was very odd and mealy. All of our laughing privately about how amazingly poor the food was, each time showing the waiter, who said ‘oh yes that fish is way overcooked’, etc and THEJOKEWASONUS, because we got the fancy ‘fixed’ menu they did not remove, adjust or line item anything, even items we _did not eat_. Seriously. What in the f is going on at this place. We were courteous the whole time, didnt argue over the bill and even tipped 10% like good americans who feel they shouldn’t have even paid for the meal. AFIAK none of the feedback was taken to the management or the chef, or I feel the experience would have been different.

I was expecting better, my burger was overcooked, dessert was blasé! I went on restaurant week and thought it would be a good experience, I had a lemon tart, didn’t love it… I’m sure they have better things on the menu and people have had better experiences, but for my first time it was awful, wound’t return unless… I was invited, can’t turn down an invite. Seems like a good happy hour spot, where one unites the gals/guys throw a couple back, pig out on apps to hold it down then über on to the next joint but I did not drink here. And as for having a decent dinner and or lunch here, I’m sure you can find another place to spend your hard-earned moola. Eat wisely my friends!

We had a really wonderful lunch here. We didn’t participate in Restaurant Week as it would have been too much food for us. Husb. had Philly sandwich – said it was the best he had ever had around here. I had short rib tacos with the beet chips. Great combination-flavorful meat, and the chips weren’t greasy at all. We’ll definitely be back!

Quite unhappy with brunch. Server was great, but most of the things on my plate were cold. Won’t come back.

Solid American bar and grille. Menu has lots of burger options. Had the Atlanta burger(pimento cheese and fried green tomato) with the sweet potato fries. Very good. Wife had chicken nachos, said they were good. Waiter was nice and knowledgeable and accommodating. Would come back again.

Amazing food! Their brunch is delicious and the service is impeccable. The salmon burger is my favorite. I often go their with girlfriends to grab a glass of wine. The atmosphere is great and the menu is perfect.

We went to Cameron Bar and Grill for the Great Pumpkin Dinner. It was a $ 45 all inclusive 5 course pumpkin bourbon inspired dinner paired with 5 bourbon drinks. It was an incredible deal considering the drinks alone would run you close to $ 45. All of the bourbon drinks were full size cocktails and were really strong. The bourbon smash with Bulleit bourbon and the pumpkin old fashion were my favorite drinks. I also thought the Big Boss Pumpkin was pretty tasty. It’s half Harvest Time and half Bad Penny. The Pumpkin pie martini was the most unique drink. It was thick and really strong, with a sweet after taste from the candied sugar rim of the glass. Overall, I was impressed with the drinks and how much there was. The food was what I signed up for and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the pan seared scallop over pumpkin purée. The scallop was huge and succulent, and the pumpkin purée was excellent, not too over powering. Following that was an amazing pumpkin ginger bourbon bisque served in a mini pumpkin. It was thick yet smooth and was wonderful to eat. I’m so glad the chef handed out the recipe for the soup because it is something I will definitely try to replicate. The roasted pumpkin frisée salad was refreshing and following that was the highlight of the meal: pumpkin crusted pork loin stuffed with house cured pork belly. The pork tender and juicy and had a good natural saltiness from the amazing pork belly. The pork belly was chopped up and sprinkled everywhere like bacon bits, and it was simply delicious. The meal was finished off with a nice pumpkin tart with house made pumpkin ice cream and a bourbon chocolate sauce. I really enjoyed the themed dinner and would highly recommend trying Cameron Bar and Grill for their annual themed dinners. For $ 45, tax and tip included, you get good food paired with plenty of drinks. It was an awesome dinner, and I would sign up for another one for sure!

I hadn’t been in here for awhile(a year maybe?) and came in here for a late lunch. I had forgotten had good this place is. I had the Brisket Reuben that came in marble rye, packed with brisket, ham, collard greens(COLLARDGREENSINTHESANDWICH), Russian dressing and some yummy Swiss. It definitely was one of the messier sandwiches I have had, but also one of the best! Our server Austin was fantastic. He left us alone for the most part but came over to make sure our meals were delicious. Also, I happened to be extra thirsty on this day and was drinking Diet Pepsi. Every time my glass was almost empty, Austin walked over with another. He provided excellent customer service. I won’t be forgetting this little gem in Cameron Village again. :)

What the hell I haven’t been here in like two months and I was so excited to Finally come back but nope. completely lost my appetite. First glass had nasty dried food in it, second one some weird ass mucus idk what the hell looked like spit or snot. I honestly don’t want to know. Won’t be returning anytime soon, I live in Cameron village but it’s not even worth the 2 minute walk. I can’t believe this. It’s sad because there’s a new waiter who seemed sweet, but whatever. Service has always been slow here. I’ll miss you, waffle fries.

My husband and I are new to the Raleigh area and after a long day we just wanted a really low key dinner. I stumbled upon Cameron bar and grill online and the menu looked good so we went. I have to say I was completely taken back by how delicious the food was! I started off with the agave margarita which was made perfectly– amazing. We got the chicken nachos to share and they were out of this world. Spicy and flavorful, perfect down to the amount of salt on the chips. I got the bacon meatloaf for my meal, and my husband got the southern chicken. Both were awesome! I typically wouldn’t order meatloaf at a restaurant but couldn’t say no after reading the description! What the best part for us was that the nachos and the southern chicken are gluten free. My husband has a gluten intolerance and finding something that he enjoys and is also GF is hard to come by. Cameron Bar and Grill is definitely a place we will visit again!

I ate there last night for an engagement party. The menu was unique and diverse. The presentation was on point and everything was super delectable. Even the service was superior. I had a strawberry spinach salad with crumbled goat cheese, red onions and a homemade strawberry vinaigrette. The chef came out to chat with a few customers at some point and he talked about his Farm 2 Table initiative to increase the use of local, organic produce. It was obvious how fresh all the food was. Even my Mom’s blueberry Crème Brûlée was lick-the-spoon worthy. I’ll be coming back.

We wanted a spot in Cameron Village for drinks and an appetizer before an event at Broughton. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks– nothing special. A positive– I do like that they have nightly specials, like $ 3 drafts on Thursdays. We checked out the menu and settled on chicken nachos. This is the first time we’ve ever ordered food here. First, it is a small portion. Don’t look for a heaping plate of cheesy nachos here. In fact, the cheese was practically non-existent. The chicken, which is chipotle braised, is very spicy, understandably, but wasn’t shredded. We had a couple of chunks of chicken on our chips, which we ended up shredding with two forks. Also there was dozens of pickled jalapenos and no sign of the Cholula cream. We asked for sour cream to cut the heat. The bartender said no problem but never returned with it or checked in again. Over all– blah. I’d like to say we’d try again and update, but why? There are too many good restaurants in Cameron Village to bother with a less than mediocre experience again.

Nice casual atmosphere, but still fine dining. I really wish this could become my regular spot. I keep coming back even though service and food are variable. Most recent visit. Ordered risotto, rice was undercooked, and too heavy on cream. Salmon was perfect. Friend had chicken which was extremely moist(oddly enough, too moist); the more standard options are the way to go here. Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy.

We tried this place while in town for the night. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a side caesar salad. The dressing seemed a little watery than traditional caesar, but the food was good. I tasted the chicken tacos and french fries and was a little jealous that I didn’t order them for myself. The weather was nice so we dined outside — There was ample seating. I will be stopping by the next time I’m in town!

Great Cam Village alternative to fighting the Tupelo Honey/Flying Biscuit weekend crowd. Servers were excellent and food was good for the price. Try the waffle sandwich with chicken and pork belly!

We’ve been coming here for YEARS… I remember the first time we came back in ~2009ish. We have always loved the food. Recently the menu has been tiered more towards a southern stye menu, which I think works well for them and the area. It always makes me nostalgic to sit in one of the half booths in the bar and see all the old blown up pictures of North Hills. The food… to mention some favorites; shrimp wrap, shrimp and grits, brisket sandwich, and the egg rolls. They also have one of my favorite Chardonnay’s by the glass, William Hill, I highly suggest you try it if you like buttery Chardonnays. The only reason why I give this place 4 stars is that one time we have great service and then the next bad service. It’s not uncommon to have to get up and ask for silverware, I really wish the hostess would just give it to you when they seat you OR better yet have it at the table?

The chicken and waffle sandwich is a unique blend of sweet and salty. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I did not know that they served brunch until Lindy and I went to Cameron Village to find an oasis of sunday funday food. I feel like they get spill over from the neighboring restaurant when they should be the main attraction. The staff is a sure bet. They have always been on point with suggestions and are very attentive. They great you immediately and within a few minutes you have a drink on your table. Your glass never empties. I always get coffee and they make sure it stays fresh. The seating is nice too. There are plenty of tables indoors and out. It is a great place to people watch. They offer specials on food and drinks. They have 8 beers on tap and several craft cans to choose from. Also, did you know that they have a coozie club where you pay $ 5 for a coozie and lifetime membership and you get $ 3 featured brewery cans and $ 2 domestic cans. I need one ! They also have live music on Fridays. No cover. My recommendation is the chicken and waffle sandwich with an over easy egg, gjazed pork belly and maple jalapeño slaw. That’s a big ol’ NOM!

Went here on Father’s Day with a group of 10. We called ahead and they had our table waiting for us. Since it was Sunday around 11:30, we were hitting the Sunday brunch. Pretty decent menu with good prices. My husband and I split(we really werent hungry) the huevos rancheros. Very good huevos! My dad got crab cakes and gave me a bite. Loved them! My husband got a bloody mary and said it was pretty good but was definitely on the spicier side. Though, we were laughing when we got the bill cause the bloody mary was more than the food! Definitely will return for a chill meal with good atmoshpere.
