All I can ever say is…“Get in my mouth…” Amazing food and good customer service with great prices and 2 drive-thru thingys. Always a win and always great shakes.

Cookout is the best. My favorite is the cheese fries and so I rarely get anything else. The drive through is always super quick and staff is friendly. This location has a slightly weird traffic problem, so just avoid during rush hour and peak lunch times. Must try for people visiting NC.

Purely because I hate pulling in and out of the drive thru. Any sedan will bottom out, but the quality of the food is standard

Questionable. It’s hard to see everything that goes on inside here, but what you do is is somewhat shocking. Very young personnel/supervisors/managers… They are always goofing off in the front(ie: pushing each other around on carts, I saw a manager poor a bucket of ice on an employee, in a playful way of course, but extremely unprofessional.) They are very loud and swear a lot. I think they do not realize after they slam the window shut, us customers can still hear them. It’s quite amusing at some times but there are issues with the food that are less than funny. For instance, I have had to go back on 3 separate occasions because my order was completely wrong. Mind you I was only introduced to this establishment in January. So roughly 3 months experience I’ve had with this place maybe once a week. Overall it’s just a «flying by the seat of your pants» type essence when u go here and I often question the sanitation inside…(from Mar. 2015)

These are very good fast food hamburgers. You can get them in 4 different sizes and as many toppings as you can think of. The fries and milkshakes are very good also. Service is super fast at the drive through and the prices are low. I really enjoy it here.

Every time I need to get food for more than just myself they mess up the order. If you’re gonna go, go alone. They can’t handle more than one person’s order without messing up.

When the Cook Out mood hits, it’s good to know there’s one close by. Thankfully for me, there’s one near my house. Pros: — easy in & out — double drive through windows — reasonable prices — burger cooked thoroughly — Cheerwine was deliciously refreshing — order taker was friendly & spoke the order back to me Notes needed for improvement: — better speaker at drive-thru — only given four onion rings — corn dog could have been cooked a bit more — employee at window could be more friendly

Ive been going here for years and it still satisfies me. Their super-late open hours are always great when you’re up late. The cookout tray is by far my favorite meal deal in raleigh. The watermelon milkshake is amazing when it’s in season too. Try it out.

I have been their customer for years. At first it was just a quick sandwich and fries. I became a real advocate for their long list of milk shakes. I have hurt McDonalds business I know by turn their customers on to The Cook Out shakes. But something I seldom hear about is their Bar B Que. It is excellent«Eastern NC style». Either a sandwich or a plate with a side of Cole slaw and hush puppies. We compare as we travel around… the Cook Out is as good as you can get in Raleigh. Try it you will become a repeat customer like me. WHW.

Burger and chicken sandwich were good. Fries were really good. I don’t get the hype over the shake though. It tasted very artificial to me, like they are using really cheap ice cream. I’ve had better shakes at White Castle and Burger King. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place but it hit the spot.

A good hamburger! Made by hand not frozen. I’ve tried to stay away from the milk shakes but sometimes the Devil wins.

The best time for cookout is after a few drinks! It makes the food better also. The food isn’t great but it’s fast, cheap, and opened late! This location has gotten my orders wrong often so make sure you check it before you leave.

The Cook Out Tray is the best deal on the planet. Main dish, two sides and a huge tea for under $ 5 bucks. Where else is a corn dog a side? This location is consistently tasty.

«Their milkshakes bring all the boys(and girls) to the yard!» This is what I’m singing, as I suck hard on the straw to get to the thick, creamy and delicious cheesecake chocolate chip milkshake. And it’s soooo worth the effort! So, this was only my second trip to a Cook Out, and my first time trying one of their Triangle-famous milkshakes. The first time I went, was with my husband, who can sometimes be on a health kick, so I wanted to be good in front of him. But this time? Oh… this time? I was by myself, and was determined to take the plunge into the endless sea of milkshake flavors. Unfortunately, there was a line behind me, so I quickly chose one that sounded tasty. It was hard, though, because they ALL sounded tasty! I also had one of their combos — the ¼ lb cheeseburger with the fixins, fries and hush puppies. I’m not usually a big fan of hush puppies, but these were crispy, sweet and very tasty! One warning, though: be careful when turning into the drive-in. I drove into the drive-in’s exit! Fortunately, there were no other cars at the time. The cashier said that old and new customers do it all the time. Very dangerous! So, other than my life flashing before my eyes, Cook Out was a very enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, Cook Out and my workouts are not a good combination. :-/

2 of 3 stars(good, fast food). (see explanation of ratings below) I never order burgers here anymore. On three separate occasions, I got burgers with bits of bone(or something hard) in them, so never again. I do like their other sandwiches and love their shakes. You absolutely cannot beat their«combo» deal(which they call a «tray»): a sandwich, dog or chicken strips, 2 sides and a drink or float ALL for just $ 4.25. Best combo deal anywhere. Otherwise, figure about $ 5-$ 7 per person About my ratings: Only fine dining establishments can garner five stars. Until Unilocal realizes that a fast food joint cannot possibly be ranked equally with a $ 100 per person place, I need to draw the line somewhere. If we were only talking about the quality and presentation of the food, it would be a different story. But, as we know, Unilocal’s rankings take into account the entire dining experience. Therefore, I divide restaurants into three categories(and I wish Unilocal would do the same): 1) fast food and«fast-casual»(no table service) 2) casual and«polished casual» dining(table service) 3) fine dining(linen napkins, no plastic cups, no TV’s in dining room, typically more expensive than casual dining) Fine dining can earn a max of five stars. Casual dining can earn a max of four stars. Fast food can earn a max of three stars.

Awesome service, delicious hush puppies, and the best peanut butter banana shake I have ever had! Not to mention everything is super cheap.

Being from San Diego I was anxious to see what the big deal was about this place. I’ve been here twice and can say that while I’m not in love with the place, I would definitely come back. Like everyone says, the shakes are awesome. I just wish I lived in the area so I could sample all one billion of them.(K, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. One million.) The hush puppies are also very good. The rest of the food was good, not great. But it’s definitely a couple steps up from McDonald’s or another fast food joint. Overall, a great option if you want some fast food that’s got a definite NC spin to it.

Take one hungry guy, late at night and add: 1 quarter lb. cheeseburger + 1 corndog + 6 hushpuppies + watermelon shake + polite service — $ 6.00 = probably THE best quick, late-night meal in Raleigh, the Cook Out Platter! Serious calories and happiness in a styrofoam box, do the math. And with 40 different milkshake flavors, near unlimited flavor combos…
