Nice stuff but extremely overpriced. The kind of things you will buy people for christmas but really has no true meaning so it will just end up in a closet or box for decade before considering taking it to Goodwill. I found the staff rather rude. Mostly because I was wearing a backpack, I was asked to leave my bag at the desk. There was no please in the conversation. Simply, «would you mind leaving that bag at the front desk?», in a darted fashion. I am a student traveler, new to the area and my experience in Raleigh felt somewhat ruined by this. My bag is my life. In the moment, I was going to abide by leaving my bag at the desk, given that I was already in the shop for 3 to 4 minutes along with that sense of someone hovering around you, like a fly with a ton of eyes. But suddenly it occurred to me. I am am a minority, not your typical average folk to be wondering around the so called area. But I forgot to mention my fellow student and companion who was also perusing the store with me. He is common folk and his name is Kevin. With a saddened face, I left the store half pissed and half defeated. I waited outside for Kevin for a solid 5 minutes. Now given that Kevin has a ‘twice the size’ backpack then I do, and was in the store for 8 minutes total, as he comes out, with a smirk on his face, says«that was unfair». I simply ask«did they ask you to leave your bag at the front desk?». «No», replied Kevin. We both knew why and we will leave it as that.

Great downtown shop filled with quirky gifts for kids of all ages. Great spot to find postcards as well.

It had funny quirky things but it’s just not my kind of store. If you are looking for a funny gift for someone you can probably find it here. They also have candles and soaps and cards but I didn’t think it was anything special.

A cluttered shop of all the coolest things you never knew you needed(probably because you don’t need them, but who can resist a coffee cup that reveals a tiny squirrel at the bottom?!?). Great place to buy quirky gifts for your friends(or yourself).

Really fun place to shop! Lots of fun and unique items. Old posters etc. My husband even like it which is unusual. Highly recommend. Items a little pricy but it is local so I’m ok to help support.

Super fun store, filled with awesome gift stuff, and cards, and home stuff. Lots of things to make you laugh, things for home, local love stuff. Tons of jewelry – looks local made as well. Staff was fun and friendly. Love seeing these kinds of shops when I visit a new place. It helps you take the pulse on what’s hot and hip in a local area. Way dig it.

I don’t usually come here with an item in mind. Sometimes I come when I need nothing, just to see what they have and buy for a future gift. I love the neighborhood candles for the Raleigh city districts. They have a good paper/card selection, as well. And some cute baby/toddler gifts that are a little different than your typical. Eclectic and different with a local feel.

Cute store downtown. Love the small collection of Raleigh themed souvenirs. Came here looking for unique birthday presents, and while I didn’t find anything that I wanted within my price range, I loved the card selection. The store was a little cramped, but I guess that’s part of the vibe. Great place to stop by if you’re in the area.

Don’t miss this Raleigh gem! I stop by here on every trip to pick up goodies for gifts(and myself, of course). They have tons of locally made items as well as some quirky and fun items. There truly is something for everyone — I spend hours here every time!

I didn’t even know about this cute shop until this past weekend at the Sparkscon event in DTR. I went in to browse as I was waiting for my food from the food trucks, which was parked on the same street as Deco. They sell a lot of neat knick knacks from like hand lotions to books to jewelry. I didn’t buy anything, but I thoroughly enjoyed looking around!

Great place to find quirky and cool gifts for friends, and a lot of local, Raleigh-memorabilia types of goods if purchasing as souvenirs or something to celebrate/remember the city by! Slightly hipster style with a Southern twist.

Every time I go to Deco I find something new, and I pretty much have to resist buying everything in sight whenever I walk through the door. If you’re looking for a cool gift to get someone(especially something NC related) Deco is the place to go. Shirts, toys, mugs, jewelry, books, and stuffed animals are among the numerous items they carry. They have stuff for people of all ages, and a lot of the items are made locally. Their greeting card selection isn’t extensive, but the cards are great. I usually try to buy a few when I’m there just in case they aren’t around the next time I come in. I also find myself wanting to play with the children’s toys. Definitely going to get a few things from here once some little B’s are on the scene. If you can’t find a gift for someone(including yourself) at Deco, you probably won’t find them one period.

Whenever I’m in downtown Raleigh and walking past Deco, I ALWAYS stop in. It is totally my type of store, crafty, cutey, gifty, hippy, and I want to spend ALLMYMONEY. They have some fantastic artwork, Tin Roof Teas, children’s toys and classed up story books, jewelry, fake hipster glasses, the list goes on! I love their array of greeting cards and both local and non-local products. And come on, they have a little green area built onto the street right next to their shop. This is the perfect stop if you need to find a cleaver or thoughtful gift. Too bad they don’t sell booze, wine or beer, although they’ve got some sweet accessories. And come on, everyone can bring a bottle of wine as a hostess gift, why not pick up something that sets you apart! There’s just something about Deco that draws me in. My A+ man doesn’t always feel the same way, so this might be more of a feminine shop but even a techie can find entertainment at Deco. The prices are higher then what you’ll find at a big corporate store, but you’re supporting LOCAL and that makes it worth it. Deco, you’ll always have a special place in my heart.

Deco Raleigh is a really cute fun place to shop. One of my best friends recently moved away from Raleigh for work and she is rather homesick. I went there looking for a ‘Raleigh’ gift to send her. I found just the thing! Her husband proposed at The Art Museum and there were plenty of handmade items featuring parts of the art museum. She said receiving my gift in the mail made her whole day! You will find something for everyone on your list at Deco.

Great gifty shop :) I go there a lot. They have an awesome selection of NC/Raleigh shirts, nick-nacks for any occasion and a great friendly staff! I could buy the whole store. Downside? It’s tiny and cramped, but with an awesome selection and lots of customers, what would you expect?

Deco is a wonderfully curated shop of serious(like gorgeous, interesting local jewelry) and not-so-serious items. There’s lots of NC home-pride items, Raleigh t-shirts, swag from local breweries, postcards(!) and quirky gifts for kids and adults. Deco is a gem and the perfect place to start your holiday shopping.

This is a cool eclectic shop in downtown Raleigh. It reminds me of one of my favorite spots in charlotte with kitschy items and local goods. It boasts everything from kitchen towels to children’s books to hilariously inappropriate magnets and adult books and everything else in between. You could spend hours in here trying lotion samples, flipping through the books, chuckling to yourself at the cards and slathering all of the lotion up your arms. I will definitely stop in again and take up space and maybe even purchase something next time, like the super cutsie raleigh coffee mugs. Hey, those would actually make a great gift for your extended family that you’re not super excited about at the holidays!!!

A fun and interesting little gift shop in downtown Raleigh, I finally had an excuse to go check out this store for some Xmas gifts. From the outside you’ve got a cool neon sign in(of course) art deco style while the inside opens up to a space crammed with knic-knacks, postcards, prints, candles and more. Definitely a great browsing experience with stuff displayed at all different levels, make sure you look up and down as you roam through Deco. With a mish-mash of hard to find gift items and fashion items, Deco leans pretty heavily towards a female clientele but I had fun poking through and ended up getting flask and candle made out of a recycled bourbon bottle. Deco also works on providing a great selection of local goods to support the local creative community, nice! Service at the counter was very good and apparently they will wrap your gifts for you if interested. All-in-all I enjoyed my visit to this eclectic little shop and love the fact it’s in downtown Raleigh. While I love my restaurants and bars, more independent retail and shopping is definitely welcome ITB and in the downtown core!

Love this store! I can always find something cool to gift at Deco, and even if i’m just browsing im entertained by all the cool and affordable housewares, clothing and jewelry! The store layout is a bit claustrophobic in places, but since everything in here is so unique I really don’t notice until it’s a really hot or crowded day. The ladies who work here are great as well! They have answered all my questions without hesitation and you can really tell they are committed to the shop. Here’s hoping Deco Raleigh is downtown for a long long time! It’s always great to find unique, decently priced shopping downtown!

Perfect place to shop for those who are hard to buy for. This is a great unique, quirky and totally local gift store right in downtown Raleigh. I had so much fun browsing around and laughing my a– off at some hilarious dishtowels, napkins, and greeting cards. I found tons of fun gifts for my family members for Christmas. Some fave finds were ninja gingerbread cookie cutters, beer bottle candles, «you’re kind of a dick» gum, local Raleigh t-shirts for men, women & babies. They also carry handmade jewelry, and Holly Aiken hand bags. There is no way that you can walk out of this place without buying something. Shop local this holiday season and check out Deco.
