In writing this review as I’m standing here still have yet to be recognized. I’ve been waiting at the firearms showcase for alittle under 15 minutes. There are three men working(Michael H, Doug, David) all have either made eye contact me AND walked right past me without acknowledging that I’m here. Being that I’m customer service management I’m EXTREMELY disappointed and can’t believe the service they allow here. Very relaxed and calm environment enough to where one man was leaning against the counter hand crossed. Needless to say I’ll be going to Dicks from here on out. I will say there has been a older gentleman who has helped the past few times I’ve been in here before to make my payments on my gun. He definitely goes out of his way for whoever he’s helping I wish I could remember his name but I’m sure he’s the only one here with a sense of customer service. After being helped by David he has made this experience a little better.

The costumer service here is not very great at all. I’ve gone in multiple times to look at the weapons and I’ve only had good service once the first time I waited for 35 minutes before I was able to talk to someone about the weapon I had in mind. I also agree with the prices, but for right now they are have a sale where they will match the price and give you 10% for firearms

I been in the store three times and the customer service in the gun department is horrible. Each time, I stood at the counter for 20 minutes and no sale person asked if I needed help. Cabelas and Bass Pro are much better places to shop. I will not be shopping at Gander Mountain again.

This is a pretty solid spot to shop for your outdoor needs. The store is quite large, and it can take awhile to find staff members to assist you, but the folks there seem pleasant and knowledgeable(once you can find them!). Keep an eye out for sales and discounted items; I got some great hiking shoes and boots there for a very decent price. They are good about returns as well, and want to make sure customers are satisfied. Their range of merchandise isn’t quite as massive as some of the largest of the Outdoor World and Field and Stream locations, but they are very likely to have what you’re looking for in outdoorsy gear. Overall can definitely recommend. Parking is usually pretty good, even during peak hours, since they have a large(though shared) lot. It’s not much trouble to drop in if you’re in the neighborhood.

I have to concur with the«pricey» comments made by Mike D in regards to the firearms. I walked in to check it out after I noticed they were open while out and about on a staycation day. The old Best Buy space on Capital Blvd had been nicely transformed into an outdoorsman’s mecca. Firearms aplenty, ammo and camo, fishing equipment, other specialty clothing, outdoorsy types of gifts, cooking and meat prep items galore. I got to talking to one of the folks on the floor to ask about gunsmithing services. They claim to have it and said I could bring my firearm in and get it back working like new in a week or two, but I didn’t ask about pricing.

I had shopped at Gander Mountain before, and did not enjoy the experience. The waterproof hiking boots I bought there for my grandson were NOT waterproof! Anyhow, I got a flier in the newspaper, and they had a S&W AR-15 for $ 599! So, I decided to give them a second chance. After waiting forever to see a salesman, who was very knowledgeable and friendly, I came to find out that they(a) did not have the gun available for sale, and(b) according to the salesman, neither he nor the other salesman were EVER able to find ANY in stock. Could I get a rain check and buy it later? Of course not, but they had the exact same gun available in a «kit» form for $ 100 more. It was a «kit» because it had a case and a re-loader gizmo. I told him, in very friendly and not attacking terms, that I thought that it was unethical for Gander Mountain to advertise something for sale without ever having ANY of the product for sale. He could not disagree. i do not plan on going back.
