My review covers a visit Thursday night. My guest and I met up here because frankly we couldn’t decide on what exactly we were hungry for and since we hadn’t met up in a while this had a little of everything. I’ve had mixed experiences at Golden Corrals all over the state. Some decent, some bad and some outright horrible. With so many people hovering over, talking over, coughing over, double dipping in and kids likely burrowing fingers into each food dish you seriously run the risk of intestinal discomfort before you make it home. Because of my experiences I generally go into each GC with gritted teeth and battling the lingering urge to Flee, Fat-ass Flee! Getting drinks and paying for the meal. Painless. Getting a table. Painless. Passing two servers who actually took a moment to welcome us in with what seemed like actually genuine smiles? Ok. Good start. Server’s name is Megan and I watched her flit like a social butterfly from table to table and even going so far as to admonish departing guests that they weren’t allowed to abandon her so easily. Ok. Better start. I stuck with the basics for this meal. Steak, mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans, corn, mac’n’cheese and a few varied sides. Not only were the sides on point but the steak was the most pleasant surprise of the night(besides Megan). Previous experiences with ANY meats served at a GC involves a level of dry compared only to the Sahara and a texture/taste of saliva mixed with some grit of sand. This time I kid you not this steak was done exactly as I requested it. Medium Rare. And juicy. Picture the Matrix movie… Cypher, eating a steak while sitting with Agent Smith inside the Matrix. «The Matrix is telling your brain that the steak is juicy and delicious.» Yes, yes it was. Not too shabby of a visit. I would even say that I would bypass two other GC closer to me to see if a repeat visit would be just as good.

As a food appreciator I had really like the theme and idea of Golden Corral. Now believe me I don’t expect gourmet, but geez please keep areas clean. It should be a priority ! There was salad dressings that people had spilled that oozed into the nearby dressing, specifically the white ranch into the Italian which turned me off. There was some attention needed at that salad bar as people were requesting refills of various food items there. This was the second time I went there this week. And both lunch times they ran out of chicken fingers. I just like them with my salad and I was annoyed that from my paid receipt at 12:17 to 12:45 that a half ripped chicken finger was all that remained there. So I asked my bubbly server to see the manager and she was curious of the nature and I explained it had nothing to do with her but the food station. She indicated she had to finish her round and summon I believe his name was Len. Now I am a reasonable guy and explained about my two visits, and he said he would straighten it out. He also came up with some lame excuse that the frying guy had to come to that area away from the other fried food. He said, «well I guess you come here often, so I will remember your face as I know what to look for» or something very similar to that. No Len! Just keep the chicken tenders coming and don’t worry about me! A plus is the men’s bathrooms are very clean! Same lunch menus by the way Mon & Wed.

Another place with bad ventilation. You leave smelling foody & have to wash your clothes when you go home. Food is ok. Just ok.

We reserved space for our group of 15 a few weeks ago for a Saturday lunch at 1pm. Some of our group started arriving at 12:30, and our space was already available. We had a separate room away from the other customers and an excellent server arranging the tables, bringing fresh hot rolls and keeping beverages filled. One reason we selected Golden Corral was the variety of foods available. This was my first visit to the this location, as well of most of our party. Everyone was pleased with the selection, the service, and the buffet price.

I’m not to impressed with this particular golden corral. Its a nice looking restaurant, but that’s it. The food isn’t good and i heard they have roaches. I took my mom there for breakfast for her birthday and the food was tasteless. I was so disappointed and i don’t think I’m going back.

What is it with following basic health guides here in North Carolina, first off the food was kept out way too long, dried up pasta, half cooked pizza, raw fish, empty food trays that stayed that way for the hour we were there, then the biggest problem is cooks going to tables with there gloves on shaking hands, picking up babies and running their hand thru their hair and then going back to work without changing their gloves. The only reason I stayed there was to see if he changed his gloves. This places was a great disappointment and I will never set foot in again. A waste of money as I did not eat a thing neither did my wife.
