Better than others, but still quite bad. If you can ignore unsupervised screaming kids, people intentionally getting in your way without excusing themselves, and the lovely parents who, without so much as an apology, let their kids throw food at people and try to grab their clothing with their food-covered fingers, then this may be for you. All I could do was look around to see where this chaos was coming from. I saw a table of women behind us chatting away with piles of dirty plates on the table, food strewn on the floor around them, and kids running around like they were at the playground. I looked at the women, looked at the mess, looked at the kid trying to grab me and looked back at them to be met with one of the nastier looks I’ve seen in awhile. She slowly returned her gaze to her friends and kept chatting away. The staff gave me sympathetic looks when they saw what was going on and asked if we wanted to move. We were nearly done so didn’t bother, but the staff made sure we got extra attention and came over to pick up the flung food and ensured our table was cleared and clean. On the way out I handed her my tip in person and said, «there’s no way I was leaving this on the table!» She gave me a «I completely agree but I can’t really say that» smile and thanked me with a handshake. Take your money down the road to many other places where the food is so much better and you’ll still walk out full. If you don’t like supervising your kids, don’t mind kids playing with the food on the buffet, don’t mind kids acting like animals toward other patrons, and don’t mind other parents who feel the same entitlement as you, then by all means head on to the golden trough. If you have any sense of decency, avoid!

I regret coming here at this time. No food!!! Nothing is being cooked, its just empty. The fullest thing was the salad bar and thats it. Wasted my money.

Not bad. I didn’t want to come here but my husband loves it. So I agreed. Food is OK. Waitress was really friendly. But I guess it’s normal to feel a little disgusted after any buffet. It’s OK but personally I wouldn’t want to come back.

I am not one to frequent the Golden. But had a craving for whatever. So.. The food was ok. What turned the tables was our waiter pouring hot water on food stains on the floor and rubbing them in with his shoe. Secondly the Mongolian grill guy coming out of the bathroom with his gloves still on(thank goodness I didn’t eat at that station). Thirdly several diners complaining of cold chicken dishes(which was true and so was the chili!). Nevertheless all the ice cream was melted. So, it’s hard to believe this gc is right down the road from headquarters and fails.

Overall, it’s a 3 star joint. Not horrible, but not fancy by any means. But if you’re looking to overstuff yourself and amaze everyone by how much you can pack away, come here. All kinds of stuff. Enjoy hand dipped ice cream. Best part of the place.

Quick service today. No lines at the cashier and no lines at any of the serving stations. Good was fresh and tastee. I have the same problem at all of these. I EATWAYTOMUCH. But I think that’s why I go here. Always consistent and film the tummy.

Over the past 25 years I’ve eaten at Golden Corral well over 100 times. I don’t expect great but I do expect decent. A few months ago we had a mediocre experience, but we chalked it up to a bad night. This evening was terrible. The majority of the food was over cooked and salty and the balance was cold. My wife mentioned it to the manager who saw fit to berate her. After 15+ minutes she refunded the meal when my wife told her we didn’t want free passes as we won’t be back. The table assistant was pleasant and attentive.

I went with my son and two granddaughters to eat at this Golden Corral. It has been over 10 years since I last ate there. The food was ok, I was very disappointed with the fish tacos. When you see the picture sitting on the table and then the actual tacos and so much fried food. Very disappointing. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the apple cobbler and the customer service from our waitress, she gave outstanding customer service. I think her name was«BJ.» I can’t say if I will ever go back, but I will not recommend this Golden Corral to anyone because of the food.

So much food! Actually, the best thing I liked was the salad bar and the hand dipped ice cream. I was hoping to get a medium well steak at the grill, but it was definitely medium. I guess I should have asked for just medium. There’s a lot of food to choose from. I wanted to try out the mongolian style grill, but I was too stuffed after the salad and not so good steak. The dessert section is a little over-whelming, so I decided on the apple cobbler with a scoop of hand dipped butterpecan ice cream. At 15 dollars and some change, you definitely get what you pay for and some.

This is the worst Golden Corral I’ve ever eaten at :(The food was bland and some stuff wasn’t cooked right. None of the sweet potatoes were cooked! This was really disappointing. Normally we are very satisfied with this chain!

Haven’t been to a Golden Corral in years. Now I remember why. Dirty. Food not replenished enough. Poor waitress service and the steaks were embarrassing badly cooked. Strawberries way past their prime. So much to choose from and a good value if you want quantity over quality then this place is for you.

I usually never give buffets five stars but everything was hot. The service was awesome and management was constantly cleaning. Of course I used the bathroom and was impressed with the cleanliness. If only all Golden Corrals were as modernized and clean.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. My daughters forever ask that I bring them back. Birthdays, holidays, they want Golden Corral. We all enjoy different foods, and for me the best part is I CANEATSEAFOODAGAIN! My youngest cannot stand it, so I never get to cook it. I love their spicy fried sweet potatoes as well. I do wish they had more veggies. Sometimes they run out and all that’s left is okra. I’m from NY, I don’t do fuzzy cucumbers.

This location is said to be their Premier Restaurant since the corporate headquarters are located just down the street. This designation is well deserved. It is the largest Golden Corral that I have visited and features at least 150 items spread out along the entire length of the building. Very impressive indeed! One thing that stuck-out as rather odd was the layout. It is hard to describe, but you will recognize it when you see it. Basically, everyone returning to their table(or going to the buffet) is bumping into those people just coming out of line after paying the cashier. It is just a really poor design. This creates massive bottlenecks of people. However, that one minor design element aside, this location certainly earns the«Premier Restaurant» designation due to its pure size and vast selection of foods. Expect to spend $ 12 per person for dinner — lunch is a few bucks cheaper. Golden Corral has certainly changed over the years. Back in the 1980’s it billed itself as a steak house with a buffet. You would order a steak, and the buffet was included with the meal. Back then, the buffet was small, and they stuck to the basics. Things have changed big-time since then! The only thing holding back a 5-Star Rating is how they handle drinks. Old Country Buffet(now out of business in North Carolina I believe) used to allow guests to get their own drinks. They had soda fountains out in the open. Not at Golden Corral. I do not understand why they insist that only their employees are capable of operating something as complicated as a little lever attached to a Pepsi machine. Golden Corral really needs to re-think this idea… let us get our own drinks!

Leave your diet at the door. It’s 9.99 for a buffet. Now most buffets I go to are tricky when it comes to the freshness of the food. Being that Golden Corral is a food chain I don’t have high standards of them. I do like the varieties and assortments of dishes they have. Especially the chocolate fountain. *eyes twinkles* If something doesn’t look fresh for whatever reason I just won’t simply eat it. People like to be crucial judges of these types of places when it’s mainly for convenience and alternatve comfort foods. I don’t go here often but when I do, I go in! I would’nt know where to begin if I were to list everything I ate. Maybe next time.

I don’t think I’d ever been to a Golden Corral before moving to NC last August. This is how it goes: First time: «Whoa, this is a heckuvalotta good food for such a low, low price and my kids love it! I’ll be back! Yay!» Second time: «Whoa, this is a heckuvalotta okay food, I guess. And the prices can’t be beat. At least the kids love it. I’m sure we’ll be back. Whatevs.» Third time: «Whoaaaa. All this salty food, again. No wonder it’s $ 9. Why did I let my kids start liking this? They’d better not try to drag me back. Dang.» Last time: «Aaaaaaah! I only like the donut station! I’m wasting $ 9! I don’t care if my kids like it, after this, I’m telling them it burned! Never coming back! Heeelllp.» It’s a great place for children, mine act like we’ve found the fountain of youth every time we go.

This was my first time to Golden Corral since they re-opened with their new layout. I have to say that I like the new setup. All the buffet items are grouped together by type and everything is in sort of corridor which stretches basically from one end of the restaurant to the other. The food itself was pretty much the same. Your usual offerings of soup, salad, American, seafood, dessert, etc. Overall the food is good, but nothing mind blowing. The pan seared seafood station in the middle was pretty excellent. The other highlight for me was the mini steak burger. Basically it was a slider with one of their delectable yeast rolls as the bun. While I didn’t get any, a couple of the new dessert highlights seemed to be the chocolate fountain and the cotton candy. The service was friendly and I don’t think my drink was ever empty. I’d say the new setup is a definite improvement in general. Can’t say that it will make me get there more than my somewhat annual trip, but with a buffet this size that’s about as much as you really need to go.

Holy Salt Lick, Batman! Out of curiosity triggered by an article in the paper on the improved GC on Glenwood, I lured the spouse out there for a feed-bag-a-thon one sunny afternoon. We came after the lunch rush, and while the place was still relatively full it was also clean and the food offerings appeared fresh. There were plenty of choices for me even though I only eat non-fish seafood when it comes to the meat department, and the salad bar offered a lot beyond the standard iceberg lettuce — quite a lot, in fact! While vegans might have a harder time, if you’re a vegetarian who doesn’t object to fried foods, carbs or starches, you will do well here. We tried a little of everything that caught our eyes(and there is a VERY large selection of food to be had here) and while it wasn’t bad, it was salty. SALTY. SOSALTY! At first it wasn’t too apparent, but gradually the taste of salt sucked all the ability to taste out of my tongue, leaving nothing but its lingering brininess. They could easily cut the amount of salt used in any recipe by half, and possibly even by ¾, which would allow the flavour of the actual food to shine through(and possibly extend the lifespan of any GC regulars!). So if you want a lot of variety, decently fresh buffet food and a nice flirtation with high blood pressure in your dining experience, head on over to the Golden Corral!
