Hamilton Ridge Apartments

Hamilton Ridge and Mariners Crossing are owned by Related Management Group. The company deleted their Unilocal pages twice because they received too many legitimately negative reviews.

I moved into Hamilton Ridge Apartments in January of 2022. A few days later, two members of the maintenance crew (Robert K. of Mariners Crossing and Rafael L. of Hamilton Ridge) took my truck for a “test drive” and never returned it. A week later, they signed a contract to buy my truck but never made any payments. They then harassed me until I was forced to leave in fear for my life and property.

I notified Nate V. of Related Management Group and Kayte B., the property manager, who actively worked against me to protect their employees and avoid negative publicity. My truck is still being driven and used for business purposes by employees of Related Management Group who have done everything they can get away with to avoid justice. Future tenants need to be aware of who has access to their apartments before they decide to rent with such an unsafe and unethical management company.

My neighbor had their car broken into and money stolen from their bag last month. This is the third break-in and theft I have heard about since January of this year. Please don’t fall for the superficial upgrades. These people have made my life hell and I pray that no one else has to suffer like I am.

I do not recommmend this property
1) refusal to fix water damage in proper manner
2) break ins… lots of them
3) no padding under carpet so the toddler upstairs sounds like an elephant
4) mold growing in ceiling outside apartment never been fixed
5) apartment was not cleaned before I moved in and I had to shampoo the carpets myself because of a big stain in the living room and clean food off of cabinets
6) impossible to clean behind refrigerator or stove because the kitchen is too narrow to pull them out
7) can’t open refrigerator all the way because it’s against a wall
8)Tacks sticking through improperly laid carpet that cut up your feet
9)maintenance is slow to respond and not well trained
10) «power washed» the buildings and just made them more dirty and smell like bleach

The property manager’s customer service is the best. I considered breaking my lease and Aldan was so helpful in offering different options to help my situation and budget. I was so pleased with the way that Aldan and her team handled the situation, that I changed my mind about leaving Hamilton Ridge. I love it here!
They also respond to service request in a timely manner and the handymen are extremely trustworthy.

I lived here for about six months and like the other reviewer mentioned there were a lot of good things about the place, at least initially.
+ The location is great, despite being able to only turn in one direction on Creedmoor when you get out of the complex
+ My room-​mate and me lucked into (cause the office bungled up) one of the newer/​newest apartments they have, and it was really quite good. Excellent appliances, new carpets, fairly large layout and great closets.
+ The area is fairly wooded/​verdant and most patios seem to afford nice wooded views.
+ The rent isnt «bad» for the area I think. We paid $ 900 in rent for a 2bed-​2bath.
+ The repairs got taken care of quickly and were well done.
+ There’s a food lion pretty close (not really walkable though) and a Kroger further up Creedmoor and lake Lynn is nearby.
+ Never had any trouble with insects, though I did hear some rumblings from other residents, personally never had any problems despite being on the first floor.
+ Fairly quiet, didnt have noisy neighbors, car was and vacuum is neat.
Despite this after a good first couple of months, things started to go seriously downhill and I ended up leaving before I really wanted to. There were a bunch of small negatives I could write about but the primary reason I moved out was safety.
— All of a sudden around the Christmas break there were a spate of car break-​ins, people had stuff stolen.
— One of the houses adjoining the property (near the car wash. It has a fairly prominent «keep-​off» sign and an unfriendly aura about it!) has a fairly aggressive dog. According to some residents, on occasion it would be roaming the parking lot inside Hamilton Ridge.
— Multiple times saw cop cars in the complex. Often apparently investigating possible criminal activity.
— Cant really explain it but the apartment just felt more unsafe all of a sudden. Unfamiliar faces in parking lots, random folks walking about in the dark.
— The worst bit was the managements response was particularly poor. They responded (belatedly) with just posters saying «it happens everywhere. Lock your doors». No security cameras, no nothing.
I saw multiple apartments empty out at the start of 2012, and I am guessing many of them were due to security related reasons.
If the security situation at Hamilton Ridge changes, its probably a pretty nice place to live. But given what the situation was when I left (April 2012), I wouldnt really recommend it to anyone.
