My regular person moved away and I had tried a few different places but never happy. I saw the reviews for Mark Christopher, which I had seen because it is close to my neighborhood. So in an impulse, I gave them a call. I had medium long «blah» hair that is getting wavier with age, plus I swim pretty often which is not good on it. AND I hate to spend a lot of time working on it. Annie is awesome and gave me a great layered cut I love that I love because I can have different looks with it. The first 2 people who saw me this morning both said I look SASSY! For someone who is 59, feeling sassy is pretty great! Guess it’s time for a new business card photo! Thank you, Annie! You have a new client!

I absolutely love this salon! What a great find! Katie did an amazing job on my cut and color. Everyone was so friendly and sweet. I highly recommend Katie and the other stylist!

I like my hair much better since Steve has been my hairstylist… I have cowlicks which make cutting my hair a challenge. Steve works with my hair, capturing the essence of how my hair naturally grows.

I moved to Raleigh almost a year ago from NJ. I tried a few places before I finally found Katie at Mark Christopher. She gave me an amazing cut. It’s an edgy, modern pixie that I can play with and try different styles. Katie sat down and wanted to hear about me and my style. I felt so comfortable with her immediately, that I just let her do her magic. After all, she is the expert, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
The salon is nice and relaxing. This is now my place.

Erin is the most knowledgeable stylist I’ve ever had. She listened to my needs and mad a plan to achieve my expectations. I felt completely at ease knowing I could trust her. The other employees I met were also very nice. Took the time to help me make my future appointments without making me feel rushed. I also met one of the owners and he took the time to tell me he appreciated me coming out. Just loved the overall feeling of my visit. And my bayalage of course!

I just love this place! Everyone has always done a fantastic job! Currently I have been going to Dan and he is so incredibly awesome! It is not just a good haircut or color service — it is the whole experience that is always top notch. Meaning, from the second you walk in to the moment you leave — so different from any other salon I have been to. The receptionist/fashionista’s are pro’s at good customer service and always look so darn stylish and pretty. This is a great place filled with good people — I would recommend to anyone! MacKenna is a gem– she gave a little trim to fix up a really bad cut I got a few months back. But thankfully my search for a stylist is over and I’m sticking with her from here on out! Also a plus is that they sell my fave Oribe products here!

As someone who has always had unruly, curly hair, getting a good cut has always been a real challenge– and one I’ve never succeeded at. As I’ve gotten older, my hair has calmed down, but my fear of horrible cuts remains… until Mark Christopher Salon.
I chose the salon and the stylist Makenna solely based on numerous positive reviews and I was not disappointed.
I went to the appointment with my hair clean and with no product in it, so she could see the issues. She spent several minutes running he fingers through my hair and considering different options. I suggested that maybe I should go shorter– she disagreed and told me I just needed layers and this and that.
Makenna cut beautiful layers into my hair and it has never been more bouncy and healthy. Then she blew it out. For a curly haired girl this is kind of a big deal, and for me, I had never had a blowout.
When she spun my chair back around I nearly fell out of it. I could not believe how gorgeous my hair looked. She said she just wanted to show me my hair’s potential. If you are looking for a fantastic stylist, one who will take time and really asses your hair, Makenna is the one for you. But note, she is very popular and books months out, unless you get lucky and get a cancellation. Regardless, she is worth the wait for an appointment.

Mark Christopher Salon is a professional, friendly salon with stylists who are true artisans with hair. Mark does wonders with my short wavy, fine hair, giving me a classy style that I can manage at home as well. He’s magic…

Even though I’ve moved to DC, I still come back to get my hair cut here! I’ve been obsessed with lobs recently and Makenna does an amazing job!

I swear this place is heaven on earth! I moved to Raleigh from NYC a few months ago and so I’ve been to my fair share of ‘fancy pants’ salons in the city and none of them can even come close to this little gem! I feel like I have always bounced around from hair stylist to hair stylist for most of my life… being too afraid to commit to one stylist and always looking for some place better. However, I can proudly say that I am now in a monogamous relationship with MC Salon. This place just couldn’t be better.
My hair stylist Brandon not only has serious skills with both color and cut, but he also has an amazing personality that makes anyone in his chair feel welcome. Each time I arrive at the salon, I am promptly greeted and offered a beverage of choice. Then, Brandon and I chat about what I am envisioning for my cut and color. He’s always offering me suggestions and really takes an interest in crafting a look that he’s confident I can rock. I also love the fact that after he’s finished with my color and cut, he asks me how I would like to style my hair for that day. I don’t know about you gals, but I am always trying to figure out how to get that ‘just left the salon’ blowout look and Brandon breaks it down step by step so I can re-​create (or at least come close to recreating) the style at home.
So ladies, seriously, stop going to wherever you go to get your hair done and give this place a try. You literally won’t step foot in another salon once you’ve tried MC.

I love Makenna and I look forward to seeing the staff at Mark Christopher every five weeks when I go! Makenna has taken me from brown to blonde (and back again) — from short to long (and back again). She’s incredibly talented. If you have to sit in someone’s chair for 2 ½ hours you want her… she’s got such a great personality. I really like everyone I’ve met there — they all seem to have their own talent and charm. Mark, Chris, and Brooke deserve special mention, too. They are always warm and personal! I have been going here since it opened with no plans of changing salons! Love!

Great stylists, atmosphere, and the haircut is phenomonal! Highly recommend this for anyone.

Hands down, the best salon in Raleigh! Sarah Pohl does an amazing job each and every time I come in for a cut/​style. The salon is professional yet relaxed and had a great vibe. Highly recommend everyone to come here!

I’m beyond impressed with the professionalism of this salon. I’ve been going there for years and last week had my first mediocre experience. When I got my survey in my email about my appointment, i answered it honestly. I had had better service and cuts there before so I let them know.
Within a couple hours the owner had called me to apologized and offered to have Christopher cut my hair next time for free. He thanked me for my honesty.
They really take their business seriously here and I couldn’t recommend them more.
I know I’ll continue to be taken care of and will recommend this salon to everyone!

I’m clearly in the minority here. I loved my stylist, and was pleased with my cut and color, but the way the management treats it’s customers is atrocious. I have therefore left a talented stylist, and the stylist has left as well, and now have my hair done elsewhere. I’ve also seen quite a few stylists leave the salon in a fairly short period of time. I do not see or hear any dissatisfaction amongst the employees but I do see that there is a high rate of turnover. I choose a salon for quality first. They have achieved that. But I will not spend my money in a place where I am treated rudely and with disrespect.

My first visit to Mark Christopher Salon was to get my hair done for Redress Raleigh 2013. Makenna put my hair up in a lovely updo. During my updo, Makenna was friendly and I noticed how lovely the salon was. A very professional, stylish, relaxing environment. They commented that they are big on social media so I started following them on Facebook and Instagram and I signed up for their email list serv.
I really enjoyed my experience and had every intention of going back. In the meantime, I kept up with their before and after pictures on their social media and I always tried to win their giveaways. One day, I received an email offering 20% off on a hair color and cut. I always love a good deal so I took advantage of the 20% off and finally made an appointment.
I requested Makenna and she did a lovely job!!! I described what it was that I was looking for and she did what I wanted and more.
Side note: While I was there for my appointment, I ran into a coworker. We were talking about our company’s holiday party coming up that weekend and I mentioned that I was gathering giftcards to give to the employees. One of the owners overheard me and he generously offered to provide 2 $ 25 giftcards to the salon. How awesome!
Another side note: I love how you can book an appointment online.
I cannot wait until my next hair appointment with Makenna! I highly recommend her and the salon!
