I was looking for a place with tableside guacamole. I found them and hadn’t tried them since they changed names, so I gave it a try. We arrived shortly after 5 pm. We were literally the only patrons there. I started wondering what was wrong with the place but decided to give it a shot. The outside is not very appealing, but once you get inside it’s nice. There is ceramic tile flooring throughout and new tables. There was even a nice meeting room. There could be attention given to the televisions. The dish hookup and all the wires are exposed and a little tacky. The server was very attentive and took our orders quickly. We were given both red and green salsa, which I appreciated, being one that prefers things a notch spicier. The guacamole was okay but not as good as I’m used to from some of the other local places. I ordered the chili rellenos, which seems to be a dish I can’t get more than one restaurant to perfect. Unfortunately it is not this one. This dish was plated fine and looked edible enough. The chilis were actually cooked fine. But it was covered in a tomato sauce that tasted canned and lacked any flavor. Nothing to love or hate here.

This location has been through several incarnations of Mexican restaurants, this is at least the third and by far the worst. The interior has been opened up and has a much better look by removing the large section of booths in the center of the restaurant and replacing them with tables and just leaving booths along the wall. But the food was really awful. No one in our group except one liked the food enough to take leftovers and they were taking the leftovers to repurpose them for other things(guacamole, chilcken fajita meat, rice, etc). The red enchilada sauce was not homemade, seemed very canned and had a tomato-ey taste which most true enchilada sauce does not have, it’s basically supposed to be a gravy made with dried chili powder. The only bright spot was the Margarita special which was $ 1.50 each for an acceptable Margarita.

Overall a very good experience. The food was very good, both had fajitas of different types. Service was prompt and the waitress was attentive. Only slight negative was the music was a little strange and too loud at times. We’d go again for sure.

My office is close by and we go there for lunch often. Great staff, prices, and food! Lunch fajitas are my favorite!
