Very colorful inside — the place smelled like cleaning products when we walked in. We went out here to the burbs because we had a groupon or livingsocial coupon(can’t remember which). However, the food was pretty solid — your basic mexican text-mex style food and combos. I’d probably go back, but it’s a bit of a far drive to make it worth it for those of us inside 440. If there was another livingsocial/groupon offered, I’d probably grab it though.

We actually found this place by accident when we were looking for Taqueria El Toro(the map we were using had it located here rather than its actual location across the highway). We figured Los Tres Vaqueros must have taken its place. I was honestly a little skeptical going in as I’ve had more than my fair share of mediocre Mexican food around the Triangle and from the outside this place is nothing to look at. We decided to go anyhow though and I’m glad we did. The menu is huge(enchiladas, tortas, etc), their salsa is actual salsa(not just pico), and their tacos(4 for only $ 7) were delicious. Do be aware the tacos come with lots of cilantro and just the bare bones so be sure to order whatever extras you’d like to finish them off. The service there was also good(the cook even came out to make sure everything was how we wanted it). This sits near the upper-band of 4 star places and a great option if you are in the area.

Man oh man! I almost let my snobbishness about Mexican food deter me from a good meal last night. Remember my review of Los Cuates? Seriously, 3 Vaqueros has all the«suspected symptoms» of another run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex: the bright colors on the walls and decors, the frozen margaritas, the combination #1-#30 page, the fried shell fajita salad, the mariachi music… EXCEPT, it’s not lousy at all! **GREATDEAL** I can get four tacos for ONLY $ 7 and they are quite decent; although strangely I think their chorizo is a bit on the sweet(?) side but I still get to order my tripa and lengua. At other places if you get a chicken soup, you get maybe bite-size chicken breast meat; not at 3 Vaqueros, oh no! Here you get broth, carrots and potato, and a whole breast quarter! Love it! The following is a message specifically for Romin B only — Los Tres Vaqueros has«Burrito Largo» — basically all the rice and bean and meat you can find, shove into a 18 inches burrito tortilla, topped with green chili and red chili and guacamole and sour cream and tomatoes, or as they refer to it, ‘vibrant colors of the Mexican flag.‘ P. S. Check out of their website here to print off some coupons for 50% off or $ 10 off or free entrée on Saturday. Update seasonally.

My family and I have been to this restaurant which we considered to be one of the few good mexican restaurants, but the last few times we went there the waitresses were super rude and very uncourteous. The thing that made it worst was the attitude they had when we tried to order something different and they knew us from before and had a very huge lack of customer service towrds our request. I thought restaurants were supposed to have courteous waitresses and tried to accomodate the customers. This is the least customer service I would expect from a place that wants to keep their ratings and specially customers that visit frequently, and when I say frequently I refer to at least twice a month. I would not reccomend this place to anybody due to the fact that they have the worst people offering their service to customers. This place went from being a good 5 star restaurant to a very low 1 star, and the only reason I would even give it stars is because the owner seems like a decent guy.

Been here twice now and both times I came away very impressed. I sort of expected a run of the mill Mexican restaurant with the same old entrees that every other hole in the wall place has. I did pork tacos this past time and they were prepared excellent. Price is very reasonable and the wait time has never been bad. Inside it is very clean and the staff is always attentive. Drink specials most nights as well which is always a plus. I would say that in the South Raleigh-Garner area this has been my favorite Mexican joint. I plan to go back pretty regularly.

Great authentic Mexican food. Go on a weekend and you might get lucky to see a soccer game being held out in the field across from the restaurant. I love the décor in this place. Lots of detail. I definitely recommend this place for everyone!

Great, authentic Mexican food is all i have to say about this little spot. in a Hispanic shopping mall in Raleigh where the old Big-Lots once was is a place that holds it’s own(Los Tres Vaqueros). by it being up the street from(Taqueria El toro). most people miss it by not taking the extra effort to dive a block up the street to find it. I walked in it’s the classic old skool Mexican décor that gives you the feeling that your in the right spot for the real deal. they have traditional Mexican fare not the stuff you get from taco bell after a late night out. and it wont break tha bank i got 3 taco’s(2chicken 1 pork) and spent less then $ 5 bucks… you cant beat that with a belt people. As i said i got the chicken and pork taco’s and they were amazing the pork was well cooked and flavorful, the chicken was moist and seasoned to perfection. both came with cilantro and onions and salsa verde the entire meal was just what i was lookin for… and thank god i found it. All in all *The food is full of flavor well prepared. *Authentic Mexican fare * Friendly staff *nice selection of Adult beverages p.s the parking lot gets alot of traffic so be mindful of that!
