I don’t understand the bad reviews, every time I have been in the store I have been helped by multiple people who really took the time to find out what I need. The guys at the fly fishing counter are great. I have personally dealt with Jake and John and they are both very knowledgeable about fly fishing in the local area and beyond. My wife and I even signed up for the intro class to see if it is something she would like, and during the class, they let me use an $ 800 rod since I already knew the basics. I don’t find that to be pretentious at all. Sure Orivs stuff is a little pricey, but you really get what you pay for both in quality and pre and post sales support. The only thing I wish is that they carried more size small in the store. Everything is pretty much medium and above and I find their clothes already run a little big to begin with… Oh one more thing. One of the ladies there found out we had dogs, and even though they weren’t with us that day, she sent us home with a bag full of treats for them for later… To be honest, the only way I can see someone having a problem at this store is if they were looking for one.

Worthless customer service. Craig and Joyce made an order mistake and did nothing to fix the problem. Never shopping with Orvis again.

When we moved to the Raleigh area we were happy to find a real brick and mortar store of our favorite catalog! Orvis’ clothing is classic and handsome, with an emphasis on outdoorsy sportsman attire. They are well made and last forever. Customer service at the store and by phone is very attentive and professional. Prices are unquestionably high. They are catering to a mature, wealthy crowd; not teenagers or the same folks who routinely shop at Walmart for their clothing. We keep our eyes open for sale merchandise at the end of the season and have picked up some very handsome, well made items that we have worn for many years.

Looking for the most pretentious store in town? Or maybe you would just like to b ignored by the sales staff? Well, this is the place for you! For a place that is trying to sell a $ 325 barn coat, they sure seem like they don’t need the money! Which way to JCPenney?
