Ate here on 2÷7÷16 around 6:00 pm and had high hopes for this restaurant but was very disappointed. Our party ordered, Triple Delight, Garlic Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Moo Shoo Pork. The Triple delight was not delightful. There was no taste and was served at best slightly above room temperature. The same goes for the Garlic Chicken. Tasteless and cold. The Sweet and sour chicken was OK as was the Pork. Everyone had wonton soup. The wonton was good but the broth was one step up from water. The one highlight was the vegetable egg roll. Very good. Service was acceptable. One point to consider was there was a very large takeout catering order being prepared that may have contributed to the over all poor quality of the meal. I have been looking for a white table cloth Chinese restaurant in the Raleigh area but unfortunately this is not the one.

I have ordered from this place multiple times in the past few months. I have never been disappointed. They have the best quality meat of any chinese restaurant around. The seafood dishes are amazing as well. Everything is very fresh tasting and light sauces rather than the usual heavy sauces on Chinese food in Raleigh. The Mala shrimp is delicious. Spicy, but delicious! The best thing is Bring Me That will deliver their food as well(for a small fee, but totally worth it considering I can sit in my house after my toddler has gone to bed and eat Chinese food). I can order this and have it delivered any night of the week.

Delicious! Delivery was within a reasonable time frame, too. I will definitely order from here again!

Better than any other Chinese take out around. Large pieces of meat and large shrimps come in each dish along with fresh veggies. Owner very friendly. Priced fair

I’ve ordered from Peking garden a ton of times and will continue to but… on this occasion, I ordered the Mu Shu and it was delivered with FLOURTORTILLAS. such a bummer. Everything is else is great. Just don’t order that.

Amazing food! Truly awesome. Their General Tso chicken is off the chain, made with high quality white chicken compared to your average whole in the wall Chinese restaurants serving frozen meats low quality meats, etc. I have had many of their other dishes but have found this entrée to be my favorite. Their takeout is quick and the customer service is reliable. The manager Stephanie was extremely nice during my last visit. Her customer service was unlike any other I have had in a long while. I am very excited to say I spent my money here tonight.

This was our first time at Peking Garden. The restaurant vibe is a mix of a place you’d find in a camping resort, but with an Asian flair. The service was excellent. We ordered sesame chicken and General’s chicken off the weekend lunch specials– a great deal at $ 7.95, includes soup and the option of brown rice, and there were lots of vegetables. Combo plates are only offered at lunch on the weekend, and entrees average $ 15-$ 19, not sure it’s worth it. We’ll go back for the lunch specials, and probably the pad Thai($ 10.95).

Okay so this time I ordered better… yay me! And it paid off with a delicious plate of Hunan Chicken with lots of veggies. Love that they offer brown rice as an option and it’s just an extra buck. Very flavorful, but oddly enough not spicy even when I cut into those thin red peppers. Husband had the once-again really good Black Pepper Steak. His came with a Spring Roll with Crab Rangoons and a Salad with Ginger Dressing. All good. We were there on a recent Friday night and had no problem getting in. Atmosphere is very old-school, but comfortable enough. The menu has a nice variety including Thai options and they do offer healthy varieties. Note to self: Skip the wine though. Had to have come out of a giant jug. So not worth the calories.

We ordered takeout from here today and it was delicious. Hubby had stir fried chicken with mixed vegetables and I had tofu pad Thai. Both were fresh tasting, generous portions and cooked just right. Also we appreciated the option of getting brown rice as we don’t like white rice. Nice cheerful and pleasant delivery man too. I will certainly order from them again.

Ive had a few meals here and the place is just ok. The price difference between Lunch Specials and Dinner are pretty significant with some dinner items clocking in at 15 bucks or more. I got the Mongolian beef for lunch yesterday and it should probably be renamed to Mongolian onions since they really seems to skimp on the proteins for lunch time. We also got the sesame chicken which comes in a double section lunch container and in the bigger spot where the food goes instead of all chicken it was on top of rice along with rice filling the other compartment. The green curry was basically steamed chicken with a white sauce which wasnt bad but I wouldn’t order curry here again. Its a decent spot to grab lunch and maybe you get more food if you dine in but not sure I would pay the dinner prices. Will be trying the Codys chicken and hot peppered chicken next, stay tuned.

My family has been coming here since I was little and now we bring our little one. Always great food at a great price, and I can’t recall ever having an error in our order. I would leave more than 5 stars if I could for consistency over decades!

A must-miss. Greasy, tasteless food. The sweet and sour chicken was awful. The sauce that came with it was bland with notes of ketchup. The General Tsos chicken also had ketchup in the sauce. Ketchup, in General Tsos. We will not be ordering from here again.

I am lucky enough to work across the road from Peking Garden, so I walk here a lot for lunch. I have never had a bad meal here, in fact it’s one of my favorite Chinese places. Where else can you get white cloth tablecloths, cloth napkins, a very Asian décor, and real flowers on every table for $ 7?! I typically won’t eat beef at other Asian places, it’s always tough, chewy, and without flavor, but here it’s super tender(don’t know if it’s a better cut of meat, or if they tenderize it somehow). I have recently been trying their Thai dishes, and they are good too, although they come standard with no spicy heat and are on the sweet side, not sure if you can ask for it to be a bit spicier or not? I always get the ginger salad, I absolutely love their ginger dressing and wished they sold it bottled because I’d probably drink it like soda, LOL! Oh, and the food is always brought out very fast, is super hot, and the waitresses are very helpful. One last thing I want to add is this place is super clean, even with all the decorations everywhere, there isn’t a bit of dust anywhere, and even the bathrooms aren’t gross like they are at most other Chinese places. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting great Chinese or Thai food!

My partner and I came here for dinner before going to see Inherent Vice at the Colony. The mixed reviews made me a little skeptical at first, but this place is underrated! I started with the egg roll, which was a winner. I don’t get the other, negative reviews of it on here since I thought it had a good filling and not too peppery. My entrée was the garlic chicken, which had a great sauce, not too heavy and reminiscent of a good Thai sweet and sour sauce. There was maybe too many vegetables and not enough chicken for my particular palate, but what chicken there was was really tender. The service was prompt and the décor was charming, too.

Yes, please! Very cheap and yummy. I love the koi(or were they carp? I never know)…that swim in the little man-made pond inside the restaurant. Décor is nice, although the carpet could use an update. Hot and sour soup is phenomenal. I had a pork dish with fried rice. It was really delicious. I had left-overs to take home. Aside from my refrigerator smelling like Chinatown for a day, I would rank this as a very solid and yummy dining experience!

Why do Chinese places just get worse? As a child I used to love stuffing myself with Honey Chicken and Fried Rice. Now I realize that it’s mostly frozen stuff and bad quality food sodomized with sodium. So we went to PGNOTPF. I went for the Crispy Tofu, because in the past, I’ve asked for tofu and have gotten Jello-Tofu. Guess what? the Crispy T wasn’t crisp. It was wobbly and undercooked. I was hungry so I ate it. Whatevs. I had the vegetarian dumplings which were pretty good. IDK what to say except that. Otherwise the place was very surreal and pretty, with Koi fish in a faux pond. yeah, I think I’d rather have Korean and some Japonaise and Thai. But I’m going to give up and make C food at home.

This is not one place that I would care to eat at again unless somebody else was buying. Even then I would still present other options. The food did not seem fresh, and worth eating. Only bothered to eat half the food, and then threw the rest away. The rice was decent, but the meat with the entrees was sub-par. #298

Peking Garden is really good. In reality I think they are a 4-star, but compared to all of the other Chinese delivery I’ve tried in N Raleigh — they’re simply the best! Why? All of the ingredients seem fresh. I don’t detect any greasiness, no over-saltiness, and no gummy corn starchiness. I appreciate that very, very much! Also, the flavors are good for americanized chinese(or whatever you like to call it). It boggles the mind that there are other delivery chinese places nearby that actually have a better overall rating. My favs have always been the kung pao chicken & honey sweet potatoes. Mmmm. All of their beef dishes are also top notch — they use some other cut of beef than the norm. It’s tender & flavorful. We’ve been eating here for about 4 years(with a 1 year gap while in CO). Glad they are still as good as ever.

The sauces at Peking Garden are typically lighter than at other Chinese restaurants. They don’t seem to use a lot of corn starch or thickeners. I like that they are light but flavorful The chicken with garlic sauce, cashew chicken and Kung Pao chicken are all wonderful. The steamed pork dumplings are very nice. The wonton soup stock seems a little bland, not very much chicken flavor but the wontons are good. But you don’t get very many wontons. Not a fan of the egg roll. Too much cabbage & black pepper. Same with the spring roll. Their delivery is fast. The restaurant is attractive. Worth a try especially for the dishes mentioned above.

There is one place in Durham where we get really good Chinese to include General Tso’s chicken. We don’t bother getting Chinese anywhere else. The other night we wanted Chinese food, and because we aren’t in Durham, we opted to only order things we haven’t had before to avoid the inevitable comparison. We ordered Tender Hot Chicken and Chicken Chow Fun. It was really good. I would give 5 stars, but they forgot the chicken part of my Chow Fun. It was still great. There was also a six dollar delivery fee, which is quite spendy considering it’s pretty close to my home. Still, I wanted Chinese food, and I didn’t want to change out of my pajamas. I will definitely order again. That combination, the peppery chicken on the silky Chow Fun was bloody fantastic.
