When my father comes into the area, he likes for us to go get some pizza & beer to hang out and shoot the breeze. He always likes the Pizza Hut type of pizza and gets frustrated that the Dine-In type of Pizza Hut seems to be an extinct species as of late. We found this one on Western Blvd when he was in town competing in the NC Senior Games and went there. It’s your standard Pizza Hut setup inside. Looks ok and seems to be well maintained. Be careful outside as the parking lot is at a pretty good incline, and the step/walkway at the door is not full sized sidewalk, pretty small IMO. There is a ramp for handicap access. We found they were having the $ 10 any pizza special going on when we entered, bonus. We ordered, they let us split the pizza in half by what toppings we preferred, and we found we got free cheesesticks with our order, nice. The beer, not so cold, though. Can’t even describe it as chilled, maybe I can go with slightly below room temperature. Even our server apologized for the beer temperature. Pretty disappointing. This temp would not have set off the Super Cold or Cold bands on the new Coors Light bottle, that kind of un-cold. Our Thin ‘N Crispy pizza arrived and it was good, and we were starving so glad of its arrival. Pretty standard Pizza Hut fare, but I like the Thin N’ Crispy type of pizza, as does my father. We made quick work of it. Our server was great, stayed on top of things and was very nice. The speed of arrival of everything was pretty good. No complaints about the service. In all, I’m giving it an A-OK 3 stars. I would go back if in the area and jonesin’ for Pizza Hut but wouldn’t go out of my way for a trip.
