The line was long, but it’s expected of a Starbucks in an airport. However, the barista made my drink efficiently and the cashiers were courteous and kind, which is hard to experience in a large and busy airport.

Decent airport location of starbucks and they take your starbucks card if you have one which is nice. Only thing is that they do not accept any free drink coupons you may have on your card, so make sure you have adequate balance to cover your order. Other than that, solid location with quick service.

White Chocolate Mocha with Soy milk. Always right, all the time, and it’s extra hot. They’re happy and courteous when I’m still trying to wake up after sleeping on the flight.

Grande, extra hot, non-fat, caramel macchiato! AMAZINGLY delicious, maybe it’s because the employees are so happy and courteous!

They are ready to serve you and keep the line moving. When your flight leaves at 5:30 or 6AM, you can trust to come here.

As far as starbucks go this one is pretty sweet. They have what an airport coffee joint needs… open early, open late, good coffee and friendly staff.

They’re open at 5AM, complete with all the stuff you’d want from Starbucks at 5AM(coffee, bagels, pastries, coffee). You may be awake after going through security, but you will need an extra pick me up at that hour. Really, this is all that matters. At 5AM, you can smell like coffee or fried chicken(the fried chicken is from Popeye’s). If it were 8AM, this would be tough, as chicken at that hour is welcome with chicken biscuits and all. But at 5AM, it’s all about the coffee.

Ok. We all know the chain and what to expect; but for me, in this location, this represents what SB could be in terms of customer service. No matter the time of day I’ve stopped by on my way in/out of RDU, the staff has always been cheerful. That must be hard to do when dealing with a lot of sometimes cranky, tired people trying to get somewhere, or worse, those who’ve obviously had too much caffeine already and should instead be looking for the warm milk and cookies or the glass of wine. The employees here somehow manage to engage in conversation with everyone. Maybe it has something to do with it being an airport, maybe it’s the time of day; I don’t know, but this is one of the only SBs that doesn’t make me, on a regular basis, sorry I gave any of my money to the corporate machine. It’s still a Starbucks, though, so I just can’t bring myself to give it 5 stars.
