They never answer the phone and takes way too long to deliver! Food is great but not worth waiting 2 hours

I must say that I have mixed feelings about this place. I think we should all support small or family owned businesses… but this place had a lot of hit and misses… First, I enjoyed the pizzas… We ordered the Saturday special(1 lg specialty pizza and 1 med pizza). Didn’t get a warm-fuzzy from the lady on the phone tho because I had to haggle to get the 1 topping for the medium pizza. She told me that the offer had changed and that they no longer honored the special as listed on their website. She won, we paid the upcharge for the pepperoni topping… Anyway, the food quality was pretty good, fresh tasting, not greasy, but the portions were sparse. When we arrived to pick up order, we were greeted in a timely manner and entertained by the dough maker tossing pizza dough flying saucers in the air… The total wait was about 25 – 30 mins as we were told. Looking around the dining area, it hints that they just had a mad rush because every unoccupied table in the restaurant was littered with dirty plates, pizza stands and cups. Well, at least you can say that they are doing good business…

This was my first time ordering from them. I would most likely order again because they deliver. My husband and I both ordered sandwiches. I got a chicken parm and he got a meatball parm. I’m used to traditional sub rolls and didn’t care for the«fancy» bread they used. It reminded me of a panini or something. I took my chicken off the bread and it was great. It had the perfect crunch to it, had just enough sauce and cheese. I’m picky with meatballs and didn’t like his sandwich but he liked it. My daughter had chicken Alfredo and that was really good. It took forever(about an hour and 15 minutes) for them to deliver it. It turns out that the person taking my order wrote my address down wrong.

The salads are fresh, sausage authentic and service great! My salty satisfaction lunch spot. And if it matters, the guys are pretty good looking too. Lol! Great place to go and have a pizza not full of doughy bread crust! The wood fire stove makes the crust just right. I like it a little burnt!

They boast of Gourmet Pizza & Pasta. A huge place as Pizza places go. You order at the counter and they’ll bring it to you. They have fountain drinks they give you the glass. Around less than $ 5 for a slice of Pepperoni Pizza and root beer drink. Pizza size reminds me of NY pizzas. Little crispy crust and lots of pepperoni. Brick oven pizza at its best good upto the crust. They even serve bread while your waiting. I would comeback to taste some pasta.

I do delivery. Never stepped foot in the place; BUT… The folks on the phone? At the Spring Forest Road location are marvelous. They’re friendly, polite and what the say for delivery times has been spot on each and every time. Strombolian is my «go to» Italian food place for delivery. I am not around the corner from them, yet the food comes hot enough to eat right away. They’re specials are great. I’ve not been disappointed one time using their delivery service.

I have ordered here for years and several times I have been sent a confirmation of my order and an hour later when it hasn’t shown up yet(on a Wednesday at 8) called for some girl to tell me there was never any order in the system. This happened again tonight. I’ve let the crappy service go because I do like the(overpriced) food but this is ridiculous. I’ve been trying to call them back but no answer, no apology, no offer of a discount or anything, even though I could very simply send them the time-stamped email that shows my exact order. They don’t even have an email address listed so I guess this just falls by the wayside. As does the cold food, late delivery times, smashed boxes, and smoking drivers. If you ever want my extremely good business again, YOU can get a hold of ME.

It seems this location is not operated by the same people on Edwards Mill Rd. Avoid this location at all cost. Staff unfriendly and the food was sub par at best. The Steak and Cheese Focaccia tasted like the peppers one onions were burnt. The Steak was not marinated at all. The location on Edwards Mill is great and the staff is superb!!! I go here a lot and will continue to do so. I’ve been to much worse and that’s the reason for two stars.

Stromboli’s is consistently tasty, but will occasionally drop the ball with delivery time or inconsistencies between the same menu items(ie. Have had awesome pizza, but some only so-so pizza, and definitely don’t recommend their white pies!). So that is the ugly truth… HOWEVER – their pasta dishes never disappoint: large portions, lots of rich flavor, pasta cooked well, great variety. I highly recommend their penne alla vodka(it’s the one item that inspires us to call them). Also of note, the lasagna – lots of cheese, fresh, chunky sauce, and the meat filling is smooth and creamy. It’s just delicious! The Mac n cheese is also outstanding! And be sure to always ask for extra bread… these yummy wood-fired oven rolls that are excellent leftovers for little ham or chicken salad sandwiches! Haha! Overall, minus the occasional glitch, Stromboli’s is a consistently solid and tasty option that we call on the regular. Enjoy!

Horrible service. The food’s good but the service is so slow it’s not worth the trouble. Both inside the restaurant and through their delivery. Waiting almost 40-minutes in the restaurant for a pizza(in early November) and then waiting an hour and thirty-five minutes for delivery(and finding out that the driver hadn’t even left yet when we finally called)… you tell me, is it worth that? Too many other pizza joints in this area to put up with this. No more!

Ordered a white pizza was very unhappy with the amount of cheese, definitely a below average pizza for the price. I liked the atmosphere so we might give it another try.

I gave one star based on delivery service. The pizza was actually good, but delivery was terrible. My pizza arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes after I ordered. Yes… Almost 2 hours. Then of course when it arrived, the pizza was cold and almost to the point that it looked like left overs. I had to put it in the microwave. And on top of that my 20 oz Seirra mist was room temperature. Haha… I wish I was making this up, but I’m not. It’s true. I will still use this place for pick-up because the pizza is good. I’ll just never use their terrible delivery service again.

I travel to the area a lot for work and this is a great place to get a quick casual dinner. The food is very good. Extremely reasonably priced and they are always friendly.

My fiancé and I love this place, easily our favorite pizza in town. We can’t decide on one pizza to get together, so we always have to get 2. I always think, «maybe I’ll order something new this time?» And then I get to the counter and hear myself saying for the millionth time«Danielle Pizza please!» My fiancé almost always orders the supreme, but once in a while he shakes it up and gets the carne — both are yummy. We like to sit and have a beer while we wait for our pizza, then take it to go. Everyone here is so nice, and the food is delicious!

Sunday night. Husband craving pizza. Neither of us felt like going out(or making it). This turned out to be a perfectly good solution. Thin and tender crust. Flavorful sauce. Good quality toppings. Quite rich. Two of us ate about half of a large pizza. We did the Supremo which was Sausage, Pepperoni, Onion, Green Pepper(supposed to have Mushrooms, which Husband was kind enough to forfeit for my sake). We did add green olives, which were a tasty substitute, imho. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, and it was close to that. I’m pretty sure we’ll be fighting over leftovers!

Some of the best fast food Italian that I have found in the Triangle. Really like the chicken parm, chicken piccata, chicken marsala, and the pizzas. However, subs are mediocre and fries are a disaster. Also the service is pretty bad at times, swinging from indifferent to just plain rude. Lastly, their online orders often go ignored, so make sure you call in your order.

This was the first restaurant I experienced after moving to Raleigh in 2009. I was part of a group of regulars who ate there every Sunday night. The food is decent(at least as decent as counter service Italian gets), and the service was good largely because we were regulars and the manager kept an eye out to take good care of us. Sadly, last September, the owner abruptly chose to close the store on Sundays. His official response was that the regulars could come another night if we wanted to eat there. We’ve been back once since. The owner’s entitled attitude towards his customers alone was a turnoff. We’re not his employees. We go when it’s convenient for us, not him. A few months before, he raised the prices, citing rising costs of running the business, yet he chose to close on what was one of his most profitable nights. We went back once last December, and the quality was already on the slide – both food and facility. Portions were smaller, and the service time was a lot longer. The regular manager wasn’t there, and the girl running the shift treated us like we were a hindrance. In the three years I ate there, no money went into maintaining most of the building, and it had started to show by that point in time. The bathrooms were run down, and the orange sponge painting on gray walls is terribly dated. The décor was sun faded on the inside. We ate at Strombolis because of the sense of community there, the friends and family that gathered each week. The manager and staff were like extended family. Now that our«family» night has been discontinued, it’s just an ordinary Italian restaurant serving up semi-prepared, microwaved food and frozen appetizers thrown in the deep-fryer. In the end, it’s a case study in how to run a successful business into the ground. It’s now an Olive Garden with a rotating cast of characters working behind the counter.

I placed a carry out order with this company. I called the order in and the lady was very polite and efficient in taking my selections. She repeated them back and made sure the order was correct. She said the order will be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived and walked through the doors, I was greeted right away. «Welcome to Stromboli’s «. I said I was here for a carry out order. she said my name and got my order. It was just out of the kitchen and nice and hot she said. The dining area was nice and very clean. No problem parking, but may have on a weekend. The food was excellent(Cal-zones). They did not short nay in the middle of the Cal-zone. They were golden brown and done to perfection. Excellent and friendly service with great food to boot ! I like it !

After getting a menu with coupons in the mail, I took my elderly parents here for dinner. The counter person was nice and politely mentioned that she would take our order at the counter, which I did after seating my parents. She also provided us with a ½ price entrée discount, since two of our dishes were in the gourmet pasta category. Orders were placed and served with minimal waiting. In advance of the dish, fresh rolls and a dipping sauce were brought to the table. Mom’s order was Grilled Chicken with vegetables. Very nice sized portions of steamed carrots, broccoli, cucumbers and onions were served with the grilled chicken. Dad ordered Chicken Marsala over angelhair pasta. You are able to choose the type of pasta you prefer. It was a plateful of pasta and chicken, with a good serving of mushrooms. My choice was the Lasagna Classico, the oven baked treat with Bolognese meat sauce. Great taste and very filling. Very nice, simple modern décor. No tacky red and green colors. Food served on real plates with silverware, which can be a rare occurrence in some«itialian» restauarants where you place your order at the counter. Kitchen is behind glass, allowing customers full view of the cooking process. Very impressed in my first visit.
