There are several issues with this apartment complex, both with the apartment itself and the community amenities. First, with the apartment, I would not recommend a basement apartment on the ground level. When autumn comes, there are dozens upon dozens of bugs migrating into the apartment; millipedes, cockroaches, etc. We’ve had the exterminator come every week and it still was not enough to curb the flood of insects that we had. Another issue is the fact when it came time to renew our lease, our rent was raised by $ 80/month! So I wouldn’t suggest this place if you’re looking to stay multiple years. We found a place right down the road for $ 150/month cheaper. Given that the rent is so high, The Summit kind of bills itself as having nice amenities, but the way the management handles the community amenities is very frustrating. The fitness center has been«under construction» for 2 months(they originally told us it would be one month) and we were given no explanation as to why. The grills they provide are in the process of being replaced but its been multiple weeks and they still haven’t come through with it. Basically management is extremely SLOW with addressing community issues and often have to be reminded several times to actually accomplish a task. Given these issues, I would avoid this place; with the cost of rent to live here, and the poor service they provide, it just doesn’t add up. There are plenty of other nicer(and cheaper) options nearby that The Summit can be overlooked.
