Gem in the Rough, though not too rough! When all the Studio Spaces and Businesses are Open with Artist on Hand you could spend as much time or more here than you would in a Museum or a Cool Mall! The Building is NOT Small, nor is it Huge, though the Unique and Rare finds you could discover here could keep you interested for a while! They Participate in «First Fridays Downtown Raleigh»! Record Store is really Cool and I have visited the«Pop-Up Vintage Store»!

This often-overlooked building on Glenwood Avenue holds a variety of art/craft studios ranging from painters to sculptors, jewelers who hand-forge their unique works, photographers, the March Hare Gallery –home of the fun and unique Grumpy Rocks sculptures, cuffs made from local beer cans by Zass Design, and more(full disclosure: one of those art studios is mine). There are small businesses sprinkled in as well, though I personally don’t recommend the record store. Parking in the lot is for tenants only but if you don’t want to park on Glenwood there are two lots and street parking located off Jones. Every month brings First Friday where the studios are open between 6 and 9:30, but many of the artists and designers are available for shopping during the rest of the month as well — stop in and browse one of Raleigh’s hidden gems of creativity!
