Don’t come here unless you have A LOT of time on your hands. Service is very slow. Took an hour to get over easy eggs. Took 15min just to get our menus. Food was good though!

Just got drinks and an app mid-day. Good: Bloody Mary was a salad in a glass, while not very spicy it was very tasty. Fried Pimento balls were amazing!!! Location…sidewalk tables in Cameron Village means plenty of people watching Bad: Fried Green tomatoes little taste and soggy. Black bean cake was also bland and boring. a bit long wait time considering slowness at time I was there

I know some people will disagree with my review. Maybe because there isn’t much in the way of competition for best breakfast spot in Raleigh. Sorry but this place is nothing special. Apart from the biscuits and the grits, there is zero to even remark or remember. The biscuits come with apple butter, but I like jam on my biscuits. When I asked for jam, they brought me those sad, SAD jam packets… ya know, the kind you get when getting your free continental breakfast at the Days Inn??? I’m sorry but you’re a breakfast place. Break open a bottle of jam, or whoa, make your own. Dump some sugar in a pot with some fruit and voila! Even the Buttermilk pancakes… I’ve had box mix pancakes that were a hundred times better. I’m still on the hunt for a great breakfast place in Raleigh… this place isn’t it.

Wow! Very impressed with Flying Biscuit. My husband and I(and dog) were visiting Raleigh for a race and found Flying Biscuit for Monday morning brunch! Great outdoor seating and dig friendly! Our server Steven was excellent. Brought our coffees, water and biscuits quickly. The biscuits were delicious! Our food came out so fast too. We were blown away. I ordered the eggs-ceptional which included a black bean pattie with eggs and tomatilla sauce. The flavor was amazing! I absolutely loved it. My husband got the Benedict special w/chorizo & avocado. Our plates were completely cleaned. The restaurant has a cute interior with a lot of seating. We would drive back to Raleigh for a day just to eat at Flying Biscuit Café!

Went here with a friend for lunch, and sat outside. We were waiting for about 30 minutes but no one had come to take our drink order or food order. Didn’t even know who our server was. The people who came in after us got served before us. I was getting frustrated so I went inside to talk to someone. I saw the guy at the front so I told him that no one had come to serve my table so we were just going to leave. But he just responded with a «okay.» In my experience and in my knowledge, that is not how you treat a customer. If they were busy, I would have understood, but they were not even busy. What a disappointment. I won’t be going back.

Just read a negative review where a lady was ignored and decided to leave. We were here on a Monday about 20 minutes after 1. We were seated immediately and had our brunch within 12 minutes of ordering. This is my second visit to this restaurant. This chain began in Atlanta, and some say it’s the best breakfast place in The area. They do not usually offer beef here. It’s not a burger joint, but it’s a good and fun place for breakfast or brunch. We had a breakfast of chicken sausage(home made) patties, one biscuit with cranberry apple butter, two eggs and choice of potatoes, grits or fruit. We had the potatoes, but were told their grits are very good . We both enjoyed our food. My only complaint is they gave us margarine blend by land o lakes to put on our biscuit when we asked for butter. I’m sure they actually have real butter, but we were traveling and didn’t want to make a big deal about it. Timing of visits is important. I would suggest going at off peak times, if I lived locally I’m guessing the best time to visit is about 2 pm on weekdays. They do have daily specials. The kids might like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch dipped French toast, among other choices. This is a family style place with art from floor to ceiling. And with the frozen custard place almost next door… Well, it was a tough choice ! If you’re in the area, Cameron Village is a nice area, and the flying biscuit is among my fav breakfast places anywhere ! The fun and whimsical wall paintings are kid friendly … And the dish ran away with the spoon, is only one nursery rhyme feature here. We will be back the next time we travel here !

I was in the mood for biscuits at 6:30 at night so we decided to have dinner here and I am so glad we did! As soon as we got to the table the biscuits arrived and boy were they good! Fluffy and warm and delicious with jam served on the side. Everyone had breakfast food except my daughter who ordered the grilled macaroni and cheese. I ordered the high flyer which is two eggs, chicken sausage, grits, and an organic oatmeal pancakes topped with peach compote. Everything was delicious, even the macaroni and cheese that came with the kids meal! It’s not the blue box stuff, this is real baked mac & cheese! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the chicken sausage was flavorful, and the grits were smoother and creamier than any I’ve ever had before! The service was also great and I loved that we could dine outside. Overall great experience so if you’re ever in the mood for breakfast food(or a yummy biscuit) you should go! Btw, our server’s name was Jourdan and she was EXCELLENT too!

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning, we arrived around 9:45 and were told the wait was 15 minutes, we ended up waiting around 25 minutes total. We were sat at the tiniest table outside among the crowd of people waiting which wasn’t ideal but what can ya do. We ordered drinks and then our waitress brought out two complimentary biscuits with an apple butter sauce. The biscuits were pretty big and delicious! The apple butter was great too. I ordered the egg and bacon plate with a side of potatoes and a single pancake. The eggs and bacon were delicious, the potatoes were really over seasoned for my liking. The pancake was one of the best I’ve ever had, it was really creamy and sweet. Yum! My husband ordered the Breakfast Bowl that came with oven fried green tomatoes, bacon, eggs over easy and served over their dreamy grits. The grits were banging! I ended up eating a good deal off of his plate! He really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and his meal! Great spot to stop at on our way out of town, definitely worth checking out!

This is the second time we have been here waiting excessively long for a simple order. The food is just ok, thinking there is not going to be another chance. We watched the table next to us order after, receive food first and then get a check back and coffee refills before we even received food. :(

Let’s talk about those grits, yum!!! I could have just eaten a big old bowl of those. Instead, I had a small side bowl, along with some eggs, and chicken sausage. Overall it was a pretty delicious breakfast. The biscuits and jam were also a tasty beginning. We went in on a Friday morning and were seated quickly. Service was fast and friendly. My only main issue with service was the fact that I was still eating and he still brought over all the checks. I feel like it was kind of rushing us out when I hadn’t even finished my meal yet.

Great southern café dining! You can sit inside or enjoy the sunshine outside. Biscuits come with each entrée with yummy jams and jellies. Came here with friends– had a good time. Even suitable for parents! The Bloody Mary was pretty enjoyable as well– it comes in different varieties to suit your needs! This café is always enjoyable– but be aware it can get crowded on Saturdays and Sundays!

This is a great place! I came here to see my sister at college and we went to get breakfast here. She recommended it and I should do a good deed and say that you should go to there too! We came to The Flying Biscuit at a busy breakfast hour at around 10 in the morning and I’m impressed at how fast they brought us in and got us seated. It was about a 15 minute wait with a plethora of people. I recommend the chicken and bacon sandwich with sweet potatoes as your entrée and of course it wouldn’t be the same without getting their world famous biscuits. Also, to top it off you can’t go without their pimento cheese fritters. The only bad part of my breakfast experience was that they forgot our starter because our ticket never got printed. I give them props for fixing it on the spot and having all the food out within 5 minutes of noticing it. All in all, I had a great experience! For being a «northerner» and living in Philly, I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who wants Southern Soul Food.

Loved this place! Beware** if you go on the weekend after 11 you will have to wait around an hour because this place is very popular** Since we didn’t mind waiting we decided to wait. Since it is in a plaza we walked around in a couple shops while we were waiting. We then stood in front of the heater outside for the remainder of the time. Our waitress was really friendly and gave us great service. She asked if we wanted to split the check(which we did) and she even gave us extra biscuits right away when we asked! We started the meal with our first order of biscuits that came with apple butter. They were so amazing! Great way to start the meal. I then ordered the eggs-travangaza breakfast. This came with multi-grain french toast with raspberry sauce. It also came with two eggs(i had them over easy), grits and bacon. It was my first time trying grits and they were yummy! I was very glad I was able to try it to for the first time. The whole breakfast was very good and very filling! I ate everything except the bacon! Yes, I know I’m crazy I didn’t eat the bacon. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. So tasty and filling!

Cannot get enough of the Flying Biscuit. The menu is full of fun plays on traditional southern cooking. Between me and the wife we have tried a number of the items, and we are yet to be disappointed in any of them. Sweet tea, delicious biscuits, and no they don’t actually throw them around and outstanding dishes that are built around grits are just a few of the things on the menu. The combinations deliver layers of flavor that will make anyone happy. This fatboy food lover gives The Flying Biscuit across the board!

I’ve had lunch here twice now. I like the biscuits and the coffee. I’ve ordered an omelette and egg-ceptional eggs… both yummy. Yesterday I took my kids(1 and 3 yrs old) and they were being kids(loud). So I either needed to take our food to-go or move to a less crowded area to not disturb everyone. Our server, Michael, was so accommodating and understanding. He helped us move to a table near the back. He was awesome.

Overall, a great spot for brunch! The place was still pretty busy around noon for breakfast on a Friday. The menu had a wide variety of things to choose from and the menu was affordable. Their welcome ‘biscuit’ was really good– helped tide me over until our food arrived. Coffee was OK. I came with 3 of my other girlfriends after we had an intense workout at the gym. My only complaint was that the waitress made a few comments about how much we were eating(didn’t bother me, but I could see how it could bother someone else). Otherwise, good, filling breakfast! I would come back again.

This place was a delight. I’m Gluten Free and Lactose Intolerant and there were many options for me there. We had a decently sized party and the waitress took her time with things, got our orders correct in a timely manner with no mistakes. I can’t wait to go back there again.

I have been here a few times for breakfast on the weekend and love the bright colors and décor. This location at Cameron Village was always busy when we went and I remember having to wait a bit for a table. It is really popular on Sundays and there was always a crowd waiting for a table around the brunch time. You can check in with the hostess for a table or try to grab a spot in the bar area. The bar area is first-come-first served. We usually ended up grabbing a table near the bar and love the biscuits and apple butter that you get as a starter. After all, it is the flying biscuit café and this is one of their specialties. I have had omelettes and egg dishes for breakfast and they were all very tasty with simple ingredients and served on colorful plates. The restaurant is casual with kitchen utensils and some country décor on the walls. The tablecloths are plastic and bright and the servers are casual with t-shirts advertising the establishment. I also remember there being a location in Charlotte so there seem to be a few in NC.

The Meggsican Wrap is the worst breakfast burrito I’ve ever had, took 2 bites and couldn’t stomach more. I realize that is a strong statement, but the truth. Grits are okay. They serve you 2 biscuits right away which is nice but the apple/cranberry butter is lame! Service at the bar was sub par, had to shout for coffee refills and glasses of water.

Any restaurant with the word«biscuit» in its name had better crank out a tasty, fluffy biscuit that makes every southerner and wannabe southerner swoon like a love-struck teenager. Thankfully, the Flying Biscuit Café delivers on that biscuit. You don’t even have to order them. They come to the table complimentary with a side of apple butter for slathering purposes. They were delicious. Every crumb was scarfed up by our party of seven. They were so good that I decided to continue chasing arteriosclerosis by ordering the ‘Southern Biscuits Benedict’, which is chicken sausage gravy over another splayed open biscuit with two eggs on top. If you are an aficionado of the biscuit and gravy arts then this dish is for you. No need to try the grits or the fluffy, buttermilk pancakes, which received nods of approval from my dining companions. The only criticism I can throw at this place is that they are too popular for the size of their restaurant. We had to wait almost forty minutes for a table. And the flow of customers never ceased. It was just as busy when we left as it was when we arrived. Just be prepared to wait.

Dined here for Sunday brunch and it was extremely busy. There was a 45 minute to an hour wait for a table for 2 however we had been wanting to try this place for awhile. Flying biscuit is decorated with bright colors and located in Cameron village. There’s plenty of parking however when this place is busy, it’s hard to move around. There were a ton of people everywhere so we stood outside while we waited for our table. After 45 minutes a spot at the bar opened up and we decided to eat there. We ordered a few bloody Mary’s, the Piedmont omelette, and the Egg-stravaganza. The bartender brought us some biscuits/apple butter, it was delicious. I completely understand why everyone comes here for that. Everything we ordered was good except for the French toast and scrambled eggs on the egg-stravaganza. I ordered my eggs scrambled with light cheese. The eggs were cold, had so much cheese in them, I couldn’t eat them and the French toast was far from French. We sent it back twice because it tasted like a dry piece of wheat toast drenched in raspberry sauce. The bartender was nice enough to replace it with a pancake… the pancake was amazing. The service is pretty good and I’d dine here again!

The biscuit is so good it deserves to name the restaurant. Long wait on a Sunday morning(of course) but the food was yummy. The apple butter that accompanies the biscuit is delicious and not too sweet. The coffee was not great, weak flavorless brown food service swill. I had the Piedmont omelet and it was full of goodness. I was skeptical about the chicken sausage but really liked it. It’s flavorful and meaty. The moon dusted potatoes are home fries with rosemary. My portion was sparse and limp, and looked like it had been sitting under the salamander for a loooong time. The service was outstanding, and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food after we ordered. Our table sat and talked a while after the meal and we didn’t feel at all rushed by the staff. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience, the meal, and the service. Wish they’d invest in quality coffee though.

Conveniently located in Cameron Village on the same strip as Goodberry’s. I went in alone on a weekday morning around 10am and was seated at a high top by the bar. It took a couple minutes for someone to come over to ask about a drink order — I think the bartender covers the bar seats and three high tops along the wall.(Seems like a lot for her to cover.) Food came out quickly(within 5 minutes, I think, and it was fairly busy too). Order was wrong but quickly fixed. I got the Clifton omelet and liked that I could sub tofu for free or egg whites for $ 0.60(I substituted egg whites). I didn’t order any but I like that they have soysauge on the menu. The«tomato coulis» on the omelet is pretty much marinara sauce. The«moon-dusted» potatoes are home fries with a strong rosemary flavor.(Not sure what they think the moon-dust is.) The goat cheese is okay — seems more like a slathering of lower quality sour cream consistency goat cheese. For the price(about $ 12 including tax and tip) and quick service I’d come back to try other things too. Just a note — I originally came here for fresh orange juice but they do not have it, if you’re craving that. They have OJ — it’s just not fresh. They also have wifi but the signal’s weak.

Need a table for six? Go home, you’re still drunk. Worst idea ever since you’ll be waiting during peak hours. In fact, go get you a carafe of mimosas per person since 1. You’re already drunk for coming here with a 6-top in mind 2. It’ll be a while, so might as well. Just two? Go sit at the bar, which is open seating. A hot, fluffy biscuit served with a sweet cranberry apple butter? Lovely. Service? Staff was fabulous. Food here is quite $$$ when you think about eggs and toast, but they do it pretty well and serve it piping hot. An average brekkie entrée will run ya about $ 10 without coffee or add-ons. Solid eats, but not worth the line if you asked me to wait.

Went there for breakfast and nothing was up to the mark. We got seated very late(though they were not running busy), food came with a delay and food wasn’t delicious. Ordered simple butter pancakes and they were the worst ones I have ever eaten, felt like I was eating rubber, they were elastic and cold. Also ordered a vegetarian burger and the vegetable patty was cold. I’ll not recommend this place.

My friend, along with her son who is just a year old, went here on Saturday around 12noon. The hostess was great and we sat outside for about 20 minutes waiting for our table. We were seated and promptly greeted by our server and drink order was taken. Our buscuit took longer than usual to come out, but they were worth the wait! The apple butter/biscuit combo is out of this world! I ordered the eggs over medium on a biscuit with the chicken gravy(idk what it was actually called). I’d hate to say it, it wasn’t all that memorable of a meal. Our server was decent-pleasant, sociable, and great with my friends son, but when the time came to check out she was no where to be found!

They got the dopest pimento cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of spice and it comes with bacon on it. They also have great biscuits which they serve with their own delicious cranberry apple butter. It is probably the best restaurant in the Cameron village area. That being said there’s usually a wait. My only complaint food wise is that the mac and cheese isn’t that good.

My friends absolutely love this place and they try to visit every time they are in the Raleigh area. I was really excited but it didn’t meet my expectations(I think I’m picky). I would give this place 3.5−3.75 stars if I could. It was SO cold when we first sat down, they were blasting the AC, it was a bit ridiculous but eventually I think someone complained and it was turned down. I ordered the Garden Fresh Veggie Scramble and it was pretty good, but it was just overwhelming. There was a lot more veggies then eggs and it wasn’t super flavorful. I think I should have gone with something off the griddle. I really enjoyed the biscuits and the apple butter, it is a nice touch to everything, I wish you were given more then just one. It seems like with the word biscuit in the name there would be more different flavors or getting a basket of biscuits for the table. Also, the menu was difficult to read with the logo on the back of it. It was covering a lot of the words, making it hard read over it. I would say they need to change that to make it easier to read. There is a ton of seating and the décor is very fun and inviting. My friends will recommend this place over and over, I am happy that I got to visit, but I think I would try another place if I am ever in the area.

The only thing I can really rave about from this place are their biscuits(which are complimentary haha) To start off, it was a slow evening(with plenty of empty tables) but it took our hostess almost 10 minutes to seat us. I was getting annoyed just standing around so I decided to order a mango martini while i waited. They’re 4 bucks, true but they are 4 bucks for a reason. Worst drink of my life. AND it came out luke warm, whatttttt? Anyhow, we got seated and it took our server forever to come to us(and remember, it was a slow evening…) We ordered French toast, buttermilk pancakes, and a side of homefries. Everything was pretty good– nothing really stood out. The French toast was dense and grainy. We drenched it in their honey anglaise to get some flavor on it… Their biscuits were good! Buttery and doughy, yet fluffy~ There were little kids sitting behind us and they kept jumping up and down on the booth(which was connected to ours)-I felt like I was eating on a roller coaster. The décor is cheap with bright colors everywhere. Service was pretty slow and unreliable. Very casual place– I think it’s more of a late night snacking kind of place. I’d say it’s an ihop with some good ‘olé biscuits.

Came here early for breakfast on a Sunday and were immediately sat — woot. Not sure how busy they normally are at 8:45 but it was raining so that may be why it was easy to get a table. Hostess was so very sweet and so was our waitress. We were sat in the very back by the bathroom, which I actually appreciated. Was less worried about my 20 month old ruining other people’s breakfast. Service was really fast and we got our food quickly — which is wonderful when you have a hungry kid in tow. There were so many options on the menu which I love as breakfast is really my favorite meal of the day. I got the veggie scramble which was really yummy. I wish they still offered the salad as a side, but I settled for fruit. Loved that they put a good amount of the veggies in comparison to the amount of eggs. My daughter has an egg allergy and they were able to accommodate, which is a huge relief for this Mommy. We ordered the potatoes and chicken sausage for her which she liked a lot. The seasoning on the potatoes was great. Sadly, we were told the biscuit has eggs in it so she couldn’t have that — but we loved it. Was very fluffy and perfect — if only the jam didn’t have cinnamon in it!!! My husband had the eggs benedict and he was really in heaven. I had a bite and they were SO delicious. Might have to get that next time! Will definitely be back to try other things. — if only we lived closer!!!
