I went recently to lunch with some co-worker’s and all I have to say is that it was OK. The food was not bad, I had some kind of club sandwich, but there was nothing really that great about it. The sides were kind of the same, not bad, just nothing that memorable. I do remember that the sweet tea was pretty good, but other than that it was really nothing to brag about. I will have to try and go back at night when I can try some beer, maybe that is were it really shines.

Went here while waiting on a business next for to finish some work. Sunday afternoon 1:30pm. Beautiful day. Inside restaurant was quiet with just one or two family’s. We asked to be seated in their outside area. Some seating of 1012 tables. Only 2 of them had umbrellas. Bright sunny day and no shade. The menu is expansive with what seems like unique food items. We ordered a club sandwich, a crab cake sandwich and a fried turkey sandwich. It took over 30 min to get our food. Drink refills had to be requested time and time again. The food arrived Luke warm at best, the hand cut fries were loaded with grease and soggy. A horrible experience. There are other restaurants in the same shopping area. Pick any of them over this place. Maybe they sell cheap alcohol.

Wonderful selection of craft beer. Everything we had was delicious, the unsweetened ice tea, the bbq chicken quesadilla, the sauteed green beans & cedar planked salmon, cobb salad with grilled chicken!!!

Ahhh!!! I really hope this place gets help soon. I’ve had many great experiences here in the past, but today was awful. We went to watch the Carolina game and take advantage of their great patio. Well, we get there, take a seat and wait. It took a while for the waiter to come by(who was really nice) but everything took so long to get to the table. Sure enough the waiter let’s us know that they were completely understaffed and that our food would take at least an hour to come out(mind you the restaurant is empty for the most part). Long story short don’t waste your time here until they get their act together the place is a mess. A sad staff member was even hiding out on the patio watching TV and she told us she was out there to avoid having to work. It was a circus.

The worst. I went here for lunch with a group of 20 that the restaurant knew about a week in advance. They had only one server for our table, while the rest of the waitstaff(including our waiter at times) worked the few tables outside. Half the table got their food. When they finished their meals, our ONE waiter slowly brought out the meals for the other half of the table. Drinks were challenging as well. Most folks walked to the bar to get a refill. I waited until all of the food was out to complain. Mine was last. I refused the meal, telling the waiter this was unacceptable and I did not want my food that I waited over an hour for, and that I wanted to speak to his manager. The manager finally thought he should address this. He offered my food for free… apparently completely unaware of the 19 other folks who experienced this dining travesty… offering ZERO. Nothing. They only care about the person who complains about the lousy service. This place is awful. Go spend your money elsewhere. I have to give at least one star. or this would be zero.

Holy shit, this place is a mess. Bad service, worse management, and mediocre food. We went this weekend with a planned large group(as in called ahead Monday) and still had terriblr service. 15 min for water, another 30 for beer, 1:30 for food. One half of table was served, had eaten, and gotten checks before other half got food(and we all arrived at same time.). Disgraceful, 3 staff members stood around while ourline guy struggled.

I’ve been here twice since moving to Raleigh in Feb ’14(Today is 2÷19÷14). I live at Oberlin Court and during the snow storm, OC Bar & Grill was open. On both visits, service was subpar and the waiter/waitress seemed spaced out. Foodwise, it was good. both times we got the 20 pc. BBQ wings and appitizer, and took home the leftovers. The wings reheated really well :) 1st visit: We were seated quickly, but our waitress was really absent minded. She forgot the simples things, like plates, utensils and refills/reorders on drinks. The restaurant was business and it was game night, so I didn’t think too much of it. 2nd visit: We went to the restaurant during the major snow storm and wanted something other than what was in our fridge. I think the OC was understaffed b/c of the snow and didn’t expect a hude crowd. But considering how Oberlin Courts office advertised OC Bar was open, I guess it could be expected. Once again, the waiter was absent minded and our food took a while to come out. I will probably be back at OC Bar & Grill because of the convenience and location, but I hope their service improved.

The O.C. Bar & Grill located at 1028 Oberlin Rd, Ste 220, Raleigh, NC was visited by myself recently and I must say I had a great Buffalo chicken wrap($ 7.99) and the fried pickles($ 5.99) were just right, not too thick sliced and not over breaded. There are indoor(tables & booths) and outdoor seating. Plenty of tvs in the restaurant on many different channels. They do serve full bar, burgers, sandwiches, wings, seafood, ribs and more. Basically I had a good time and plan on returning. Food A Staff A Décor C Location C

I frequently visit the OC after work, so I guess I can call myself a regular. My friend and I are pretty friendly with the staff there. We like the servers, and they usually take time to talk with us. They seem to handle the drunk crowd pretty well, too. I’ve seen some customers go off on the servers for petty things before. One time, a girl screamed at one of the waiters about some food she thought she was wrongly charged for, and then later he still helped her up to her apartment and got her some food to go. I think the beer selection is pretty nice. I always find something I like, and they’ll go out of their way to make special drinks if I ask for them. The food is not the best. They have some kinks to work out in their recipes or the kitchen staff. I mostly go for drinks. The specials they have on drinks are pretty good, too. I prefer the patio to the inside of the restaurant. The inside can be too echo-y.

I’d really like to give the OC4 stars because the server and manager were extremely attentive and friendly but the food was just alright nothing I’ll be running back for. I love this shopping center over by Cameron Village and frequent it often. I thought why not give this place a shot. I stopped in for lunch during the week and grabbed a table on the patio outside. They have a very nice outdoor patio with TVs so I’m sure this place will be hopping during game times. I stepped inside to check it out — it’s a decent space with a large bar and lots of TVs definitely your typical sports bar. The place was pretty empty for lunch time, it would seem to me that this might be more of a late night, events place. As I mentioned at the beginning of my review though I can not complain about the service. My server was on it and the manager came up several times to check on me. I camped out to work for awhile and they didn’t seem to mind at all. I ordered a blackened chicken sandwich with a side salad. Nothing wrong with my meal it just was blah for me. I didn’t really care for the blackened seasoning they used, but my chicken was juicy and tender. They do have really good dressings though I believe they are all homemade. The chicken sandwich came with a side of honey mustard and my side salad had a creamy balsamic dressing that was delicious. Will I be back again sure, but it’s not my first choice when it comes to bar food around town.

The one bright spot here is the bartender, who was friendly, funny, and attentive. The rest needs some work. I met a few co-workers for drinks and happy hour apps on a weeknight around 5:30. The place was practically empty and smelled more like disinfectant than great food. Two glasses of wine in, they ran out of pinot grigio. Good thing I only wanted two. We ordered the quesadillas(not bad) and the nachos(mostly chips and lettuce — the meat and other stuff was good, but there just wasn’t enough of it). A trip to the bathroom sealed the deal. Stall number one had no toilet paper on either of the two big rolls. Stall number two had a door that wouldn’t lock. Sigh. Can we at least get the bathroom right? Geez.

I really want to love the OC. We live at Oberlin Court so it is awesome to have a bar and grill so close. They even deliver to the pool and the apartments. The outdoor seating is great, the TV’s are very nice, inside is clean and new, great beer selection, and again convenient. However, the food misses the mark big time and the service is mediocre. We have been 3 times now. Please, hire a chef. You are in a location where people are willing to spend money and expect good food especially if advertised as an «upscale sports bar.» To be a little more specific it took 50 minutes for a pick up order instead of the 15 minutes we were told. We expected it to take about 20 – 25 minutes but 50 was excessive. I ordered a burger with chili on it and couldn’t find the chili. I asked the waitress, she went back to the kitchen, and came back to tell me it was under the cheese. It was in fact under the cheese but should I have to look for chili on my burger? The burger was ridiculously small, fries had no flavor, buffalo chicken wrap came with the wrong fillings, etc. I HATE to give a negative review. I just really hope you guys find someone who can cook. I think that would solve a lot of your service issues as well.

Since the restaurant opened, I have been here on multiple occasions(including the infamous opening night). Although the kitchen had some serious issues in the beginning, and the servers were clueless(they misplaced my roommates credit card), the Bar has been improving. Opening night I ended up getting a simple burger that was extremely small for the bun. It looked clowny. Since then, I have yet to try a burger again(I’m afraid of the same experience), but I have tried several other dishes on the menu, many of which I’ve definitely enjoyed. The bbq nachos are delicious and I usually get them when they have half price app specials. I’ve also enjoyed the crab cakes and quesadilla. The OC Bar also has good drink specials every day of the week. Some of these specials are very hard to compete with($ 2.50NC pints?!). They have lots ofyummy drafts on tap and I’ve tried several of their signature cocktails, which have been very well balanced and delicious. All in all, this place is a good neighborhood bar. I live in the apartments above the bar, and probably wouldn’t come if I didn’t live in the complex. That being said, I encourage others to check it out! It seems like they have worked out many of the kinks that come with opening a new restaurant.

I typically don’t write reviews unless I feel its needed, so after going here last night and reading the reviews I wanted to give another take. I ate at the OC Bar and Grill last night with 3 friends, and we all tried different things but I can only speak for the things I had. We started off with the cheese fries, which were LOADED with cheese and bacon(some places are very skimpy) and they were really good, I liked the cut of the potatoes and you can tell they make their own ranch(the only thing I could suggest is that they reduce the ranch down a little bit more so it is thicker) My roommate and I got a plate of 20 wings, 10 hot for him, and I always get barbecue wings everywhere and I am very picky about my sauces(I stopped going to Hibernian when they changed their BBQ sauce to something that tasted cheaper and nasty). They had barbecue and honey barbecue, and at the recommendation of our waitress I tried the honey barbecue. They were INCREDIBLY good and I highly recommend them, my girlfriend got the beef brisket entrée which was also really good with homemade mashed potatoes, also very good. Her brisket came with what I would guess is the regular barbecue sauce and that made the brisket taste fantastic, and it was super tender. I ended up eating half of hers and loved it. I liked my wings more than the kind my roommate got(hot) but he said they were the best wings he has ever had in Raleigh, so he loved them. The 4th person we came with got a chicken entrée and I tried one of the fried green beans she got it with, and they were super good. My girlfriend’s entrée came with regular green beans and they tasted crisp and fresh, can’t complain. We all really enjoyed it, the place was nice inside, and had a ridiculously big drink list(something like the first 6 pages?) so if you are going there to drink and watch some sports you can’t go wrong. Hopefully they make it the official Raleigh home of Washington Redskins fans and I will be there every weekend come football season. Buffalo Brothers is the home of Buffalo fans, I have been to other bars who support the Panthers, Steelers, Bengals, etc. but I have yet to see a Washington bar! I saw that the owner responded to another post on here, and I saw on their menu they hold votes for what beers they will have on tap, so it is obvious they value feedback and are always looking to please everyone. This is definitely a place I will go back to again and you will see me there come football season. Redskinsssssss!!!

Come on people, give them a break. I’ve been there 3 times(twice for dinner, once for a business lunch), and it was good every time. My only complaint was needing to reheat a side of mac & cheese, but considering the few DAYS they’ve been open, I give them a pass on that and will definitely be going back. Our area(I live nearby) has needed a good new, local joint since the unfortunate closure of EVOO. Don’t let the detractors deter you from trying The OC. And no, I don’t work there and this isn’t a fake account.

My first visit was on their opening night and the service was slow and took awhile to get my food. I came back this past Thursday after beach music to watch the NFL draft and today Saturday for lunch and it was great. A big plus is the outside seating, I took my dog and they had a water bowl for her. I will be back Frist time = slow over an hour but food was great Second and third look= very positive food took 20 min and the wings were great and the wrap was also.

Based on previous reviews, it’s clear that The OC has needed some time to settle in. I gave them about a week before trying it out, and was totally happy with my experience. Our server was great, the food was good and they have a fantastic selection of beers on draft. They’ve got huge tvs playing every sports channel and a great patio which allows you to enjoy this gorgeous spring weather(and still watch the game). I ordered the strawberry salad with grilled chicken and candied pecans. Besides the chicken being a little dry, it was delish! Others at the table got the fried turkey sandwich and crab cake burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal and reported that the side of mac & cheese was the star of the show! Their menu is huge and definitely ambitious. Once the kitchen gets that under control, I think this place is going to be really successful. I currently live in the Oberlin Court Complex and have been hoping a restaurant would move into that retail space for the past two years. This is the perfect spot for a casual bite or late night drink and fills a void in the area. Check it out and see for yourself!

Absolutely terrible. The only thing worse than the service is the food… if it ever comes. Unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky few who left the restaurant before their food arrived. I ordered the BBQ Burbon Bacon Burger– a supposedly 1⁄3 pound beef patty with bacon, cheddar, fried onion straws, and bbq sauce on a potato roll. At $ 9.50, I expected a fairly decent burger. As I soon found out, my money would have been better spent down the road at McDonald’s. They got the potato roll and the bacon right… but the burger patty couldn’t have been more than 1⁄8 of a pound– equal in diameter to the tomato that topped it. The burger occupied about half of the bun and was topped with a tiny bit of cheese. No bbq sauce on this«BBQ Bourbon Bacon Burger» though… Fried onion straws? What fried onion straws? In addition to missing half of the ingredients listed on the menu, the burger was dry and flavorless. My mac & cheese side was more soupy than anything else, and completely lacking in flavor as well. I had high hopes for the OC, but this is undoubtedly the worst restaurant I’ve been to in a long, long time. I won’t be back. UPDATE: Notice how all the positive reviews were written by members who joined last weekend. Could this possibly be the restaurant’s management team attempting to control the Unilocal ratings? I’m 95% certain of it. They’ve also now begun to post food pictures, also from brand new(or dare I say it… fake) members. AND they have somehow convinced Unilocal to remove all the original, member-submitted food pics(I’m re-posting mine as I write this). This place is run by con artists. Try it at your own risk.

I’m still debating whether or not to give this place another chance in a few months to give it the benefit of the doubt for being new, but this place was terrible. The entire staff had the personality of a sack of potatoes, it took more than an hour to get our food(did I mention that there were only 2 of us?) and once the food had arrived, it smelled and tasted like burnt popcorn(ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with fries, so nothing extravagant). To top it off, we were ready to finally leave, and our appetizer STILL had not surfaced– you would’ve expected them to at least have comp’d it or comp’d SOMETHING on the menu for the trouble or waiting that long–(NOPE). We left the restaurant still hungry-thank god my apartment was a wall away-could not get home soon enough to drink the memory and taste of that food away. UPDATE: This business has created SEVERALFAKE Unilocal accounts in order to boost its Unilocal ratings! SHAMEONYOU, OCBARANDGRILL. Not only have the food and staff proved to be terrible, but creating fake reviews to combat the true, honest ones is not only a sign of a lack of integrity on upper management’s part, but lack of accountability for the root of the problem. AVOIDTHISPLACE!
