Big time thrift shopper here. I regret to say this store is low on the totem pole of thrift shops in the area. Lots of well worn, over priced crap here. I have been to this store about 8 times now and have not bought a thing

Stopped in recently and was stunned by the strong smell of stale cigarette smoke when I walked in the door. The cashier was being hit up for money by a patron, and I got to listen to that story while I shopped. Decent selection of clothes, housewares very overpriced for a thrift store. Wine glasses that would be a buck or less elsewhere were $ 2 and $ 3! Wanted to take a shower when I left. Yuck.

I have been there twice. I can get clothing new at better prices. Quite expensive for a thrift store. everything else expensive too. only a small percentage goes to charity, the rest goes to the owners. another way to make money with donated stuff and just rent for overhead and some kids that work there.

This was my second time visiting Uptown Thrift. First time was a pleasant experience, however, I found prices to be way too high for a thrift store. The gentlemen working the counter discounted my entire order because the sale signs were not specific enough and were causing lots of confusion. I promised I’d be back, so I did. The second time, I was not satisfied ATALL. Everything was out of place, dirty looking and overpriced. Quality was not there and signage was wrong all over. I found a unique piece that I liked, however it was too overpriced for the quality, so I didn’t buy it. I went to make a purchase for a different item, and noticed a vintage Barbie binder I just had to have. I asked the cashier if she can find out a price and she told me the item WASNOTFORSALE. Why would there be something on the floor that is not for sale?! I bought the item I found anyway, but with a little regret. I will not be returning.

The low quality, worn out inventory was only slightly less depressing than the wailing country music station that was cranked up in the store. Everything I looked at was either really cheap to begin with(walmart crap) or so worn out it should be tossed in the trash. The prices were certainly low but even at that there was nothing I’d consider buying.

I’m surprised by the good reviews of this place. I have been to well over a hundred thrift stores across the country, and this was by far the priciest I’ve seen. Good prices if it was a consignnent shop, but for a thrift store, I expect better deals. I know thrifting is hit or miss, but this is the first time I have ever left a thrift store without purchasing anything. And I searched the place for well over an hour. I won’t make a special effort to come back.

Not the best thrift store I’ve been in. It is pretty organized, but there isn’t much to organize. I didn’t really find anything, but what I saw seemed to be reasonably priced.

Found 32⁄32D1 Docker khakis. I was so excited but I really wish they were my size! They have a decent selection, and it’s better than goodwill imo! There’s a carebear hanging from the ceiling, it’s all about sending a message to the competition…

Raleigh’s most recent addition to the value shopping scene. They are clean and bright, and had time of fresh inventory when I was there. Plus, they actually pick up donations from your house! Donate or purchase… either way you can help Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle.

Before Shopping here, when I think of Uptown I think(Uptown = Ghetto) … I was WRONG ! So I was think their was a chance I might find a pair of G-Star Jeans in my size and then I could be like Mangus Carlsen and I do not even know how to play Chess. Clothes were mostly in very good shape for Thrift Store Prices! Nice looking Glassware and Vases Some Sporting Goods including a SnowBoard Furniture Store is Bright, Clean and Well Organized Free Bibles were in a Trunk by the Front Door! Purchases and Donations help support Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Triangle!
