What a lovely group of women! So knowledgeable and experienced. Each one is able to answer any question you have or refer you to someone who can. Wonderful collection of buttons and accessories. And of course a fabulous selection of yarns, both luxurious and affordable! There are some gorgeous patterns available as well. Pet friendly too!

This is a nice shop. The employee was great — a bit more chatty than I like, but she(mostly) left me alone when I let her know I needed to just browse. The selection here is decent. There are some unusual yarns and unusual colorways, so that was kind of fun to see. Especially since I feel that all the San Diego yarn shops have the same inventory as each other. I don’t think this is worth the drive from San Diego… but if you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop!

This is an overdue review/recommendation for Ramona Country Yarn Store. What a joy to find such a beautiful and well stocked store«up the hill»! I discovered this gem about a month ago when I needed a crochet hook and did a Google search, hoping that I wouldn’t have to drive down the hill for something that seems pretty basic(can you believe it, no one else in town has them!!!). Up pops Ramona Country Yarn AND they were open. The store is really cute from the outside and inside it’s the perfect combination of beautiful and cozy; so welcoming! This is Mecca for anyone doing any type of needlework! The cherry on top is Connie Phillips; owner and staff packaged into one delightful, friendly and helpful woman. What a treasure! In the month since I first walked into her store, she’s helped me, start to finish, with a beautiful baby blanket and the start of a second full size blanket. I only know some very basics of crochet and can’t remember anything from high school knitting in home economics class(yeah, I’m that old!) so I will be signing up for some of the many classes that Connie teaches. The prices here are very fair and the variety is unbeatable! Connie and her store are truly a Ramona treasure!!!

We were on our way to my grandaughter’s 4th birthday party when I ask my husband if we could swing by this store briefly just so I could get a fix on where it’s located to come back in the future. We missed it the first time round because when you’re coming from the west it’s kind of hidden behind the store next door, which protrudes out further. When we drove around the block we saw a couple of elderly ladies and pulled over to ask them if they knew where the shop was and they pointed to the back of it from where they were standing. The second time around he pulled into the curb and kindly said, «You’ve got 5 minutes,» so I ran inside real quick, babbled to the clerk about it being a speed run, grabbed a couple skeins of lavender sparkly yarn and some Fun Fur for my friend who makes scarves for charity, asked a few questions, made my purchase, and dashed back out to the car. It was probably a couple more than 5 minutes. It’s a lovely little store. The lady who runs it couldn’t be nicer. They have beautiful yarn for reasonable prices. Even in looking quickly, I didn’t see any yarn that I had ever seen any place else. Its always fun to go into a new store and see new things and not just duplicates of what you’ve seen in every other store. She said there are groups and classes and every Friday some ladies get together to knit hats for the purple hat child abuse awareness program. I think she said the social knitting group where you can bring in any project you want is Thursday nights. It’s about an hour drive to get up here so I won’t be able to come often but I do hope to get back here again when I have more time to look around and enjoy myself!

My first visit to the Ramona Country Yarn Store was such a treat. Connie was so friendly and very knowledgeable. She helped me pick out what I needed to get started on my new project and offered some very helpful tips. I highly recommend this place to my crafty friends in town. Thank you Connie!
