After visiting another local shop that was closed, I decided to check out this location solely because it was the only shop I knew of in the surrounding area. Needed a tube for my 20″ after a flat. To start, the assumed owner’s manners were terrible; unwelcoming, splitting attention between his customer and whoever he was on the phone with, had a generally pompous attitude. There mustn’t be much business there, considering a tube costs $ 8 dollars. I understand the area is affluent, but even K-Mart has overpriced tubes cheaper than his guy. More points of disrespectful attitude: -«get off my carpet, I don’t want you getting oil on it» whilst changing a tube. What part of my tire, tube, or rim has oil on it? –name calling: called my friend and I novices from our approach to putting the tire back on. Thanks, but we’ve been doing our own maintenance on our bikes for years; which is why I declined his offer to finish putting my tire on for another $ 8. –shop info was outdated: credit card info on the door doesn’t align with the accepted payment methods. It was nice to learn that, especially after installing the tube. Then gave me an issue for the bill not being over $ 20, like are you for real dude? You want the money or not? –On a semi– positive note, thanks for letting me use your single tire lever(brought one of my own) and pump. Although that should be unspoken for a community oriented cycle shop. Overall, I’ve never encountered a cycle shop owner as rude and disrespectful to potential customers than at Ultimate Cycle Shop. I wouldn’t recommend going there for any reason.

So although my first experience here was very unpleasant, I will say there are a few nice things about this shop. It’s a beautiful shop with nice sections and beautiful natural light, but paying $ 8 for a tube is ridiculous no matter how nice your store is. Thankfully the owner let us borrow a pump and tools so we didn’t have to pay another $ 8 for labor. While changing the tube, the owner was incredibly pretentious and rude commenting on how we were changing the tube incorrectly. He had said we’d never be bike mechanics at this rate… Because at 22 years old those are my wildest aspirations. Real jerkoff to be honest. After the owners first impression I’ll never return to ultimate cycle. Everyone should go to Ramsey Bike and Ski Shop. Incredibly nice people who have been in town since I was little.
