I had the Phở soup. It was very good. Will definitely be back.

This place is on my regular lunch rotation. The main thing I like about it? They have salads. Real salads. I’m a low carb guy. They get it. I wouldn’t say this is authentic as Vietnamese gets, but it’s pretty good, and I’ve never left disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, and it’s clean. The only minor grievance I have is that dishes that are purported to contain steamed shrimp instead come with sauteed shrimp. Not that it’s bad at all. The Vietnamese salad(pork and shrimp) and the Lemon beef salad are my two favorites, but the rice noodle dishes and combo over rice plates are nice too. The appetizers(e.g. spring rolls) are a tad pricey. They don’t have Phở. But you can get Phở anyplace. They do have other good noodle soups, and a great seafood soup. If you want Phở, go to a Phở place. If you want something other than Phở, don’t go to a Phở place, come here.

I knew winter had hit when I had a serious craving for Vietnamese soup. After a quick Unilocal search for something super close to my new place, I found Andy’s and figured what the hay! Its a 20 second drive and its worth a shot. I called my order in for the Saigon Soup and spoke to a super sweet lady who answered all my questions. I substituted the pork for all shrimp. A few minutes later I arrived, found a parking spot and walked in. It appears to be an old diner(maybe Dennys?) because it has lots of seating between booths and tables plus the classic diner counter seating. It felt welcoming and comfortable, a huge plus if I ever decide to bring my boyfriend to dine-in. The lady who took my call was just as friendly in person. She had my order waiting for me when I got there and it smelled amazing. I left promptly to get home and devour my food in private. I’ve been known to get messy with a bowl of Phở. After preparing my soup and drooling the entire time. The veggies and shrimp were all very fresh and appealing. FYI for anyone who hasn’t taken Phở to-go, the broth is separate from the meat and veggies to keep ensure your bowl is fresh. I grabbed my chopsticks and dug-in! No lies, the broth was HOT in both temperature and taste. The kind of hot that doesn’t hit you instantly but only after you’ve swallowed the first bite. Which told me this was going to be good. Each bite more delicious than the last until it was all gone. I was to be honest… sad and very sweaty. But also very satisfied. I have been back twice since then, getting this soup both times. The spring rolls are also very good and very fresh. However, the peanut sauce leaves something to be desired though. I think its the consistency. I can easily remedy that with some Siracha sauce. Overall I give this place 5 stars. 1 star for the location(personal thing), and 4 stars for the food.

First time here. Was driving by and hungry for Phở. Disappointed to see they only had 1 option(thin sliced beef). When I asked if they had any other phở items, they were very accommodating and got me beef ball to add. Yummy. Broth was great! I’ll be back when in the area for sure.

It wasn’t bad, but I’ve certainly tasted, and experienced better. The service was good once it started, but it was very slow in coming at the start, which made no sense to me since the place was nearly empty when I arrived. I was seated and then just ignored for too long. I found the portions to be sufficient, not enough for leftovers, and the freshness and flavor was ok, but sure didn’t wow me; and why does every place that offers a vegetarian dish seem to think that must be made up of mostly mushrooms(yuck). This is not somewhere that I found myself longing to return.

This place was great! Keep in mind that it seems they keep the door locked when they don’t have any customers so make sure you knock if it’s during business hours. Very affordable and the staff was really nice. Would definitely return here.

I’ve been eating here for so many years now and the quality of the food has always been great. The staff are friendly, it’s a family owned business and the owner is such a sweet lady who really cares that you enjoy her food. My favorite are the imperial rolls, once you have them you will be hooked for life.

Been eating here for years. Great service, excellent food. Lunch menu is quick and easy with all the dish options listed with your choice of meat or tofu. The phở and imperial rolls make it a weekly eat in the winter time. Don’t mind the hookers walkin’ the beat, they don’t bite.

Absolutely love the seafood soup!!! I cannot explain the taste other than pure heavenly goodness. I’ve been eating the same Seafood Soup for 19 years. Each time I’m there I fall back in love. Imagine a tasty broth, screw tasty– it’s a punch of pure goodness to the taste buds, a heaping mound of phở noodles, shrimp and calamari served with bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeño slices and lemon wedges on the side. Please, don’t underestimate the bowl. It looks like many other phở soups. But it’s not!!! The halo of this delicious angelic soup is invisible but I promise at the first sip, you’ll fall hard. This is a rancho Cordova hidden jem. Rush there now! Grab yourself a bowl! Your Monday can and will get better!!! Remember Seafood Soup!!!

Got two lunch specials broccoli beef and beef curry with sides of flavorless steamed vegetables. They messed up the orders we made and I couldn’t even finish the food bc I lost my appetite by that point.

Very glad I brought the family here for dinner. My twin 10 year olds have never had Vietnamese noodles or food of any kind. We had phở, calamari, baked salted shrimp. Very very goood. My kids finished the large phở servings too. Would highly recommend.

We live in the area and sometimes visit for dine-in, but mostly its a nice take out for us. We love the spring rolls, lemon grass chicken, pad thai. The servers are always great and quick. Hope they are around for a long time.

I love eating here when I am sick because eating a good bowl of Phở always makes me feel better. I swear that this place is a cure all for all colds. I only say that because I found this place after being sick for a month over three years ago. I ate one bowl of Phở and my respiratory infection went away the next day. I have been a customer ever scene. The area around the place is a little sketchy. I did live there for a year and there were some interesting events and sights that would happen around that neighborhood. But once you get inside of the place, you find a great environment. The actual restaurant is well kept and clean. You are always greeted at the door with a smile and they do seat you. It is a warm inviting atmosphere and the servers have never seemed to be too busy. This time when I went, I wanted to try my usual and some lemon grass chicken too. There were pictures of it on the menu but I was curious still. The server was delivering some to the table next to me so I was able to see the chicken close up and it looked/smelled delicious. I had a chance to place my order and soon it came out. The server did talk to us a little and made sure we had everything we needed. The Phở was super fresh as always, and the lemongrass chicken tasted amazing. I was glad to have found another dish. Once again my cold is gone thanks to the wonderful meal I had at Andy Nguyen’s.

We came here lastnight for a last minute dinner. The doors were locked and we thought we weren’t going to be able to dine in considering it was 20 minutes before closing and they’ve already locked the doors. The lady taking orders /serving kindly let us in and told us it would be ok to dine in. I had originally thought this place only served vegetarian meals but looking through the menu assured me that they didn’t. In fact, it seemed like there were more meat dishes than vegetarian dishes. Neither of us really had a craving for asian food but we opted for shrimp fried rice to share. The bf had a viet iced coffee while I had their Thai tea. Our drinks came out first and I immediately could tell that they use bottled Thai tea. My boyfriend said that the coffee was on point but needed milk. They gave him powdered coffee mate since they had no milk. It tasted good even though the powder made it a bit gritty. The fried rice was decent. It reminded me of Filipino garlic rice with an extra amount of garlic. It was just too much for me. The shrimp they used was very tiny cut up pieces which made it seem like they were being stingy with their shrimp. It looked like 3 small whole pieces of shrimp cut up in little tiny pieces. 3 stars for the good service and for allowing us to enter the restaurant prior to closing. Probably won’t be returning since we’re hardly in the area.

I’m very happy to have found this place! Now I have a cure for my cravings for Cha gio & Soft Rice Noodles w/Charbroiled meat. Each time I’ve visited here, the service has been extremely great & the food amazing! The staff is very kind, efficient & helpful! The food delivery is fast, very tasty & very good portions. I always leave with leftovers. I definitely recommend this little hidden gem!

I was wandering around the Sacromento area, far from home, confused and wanting comfort food for my stomach which was going crazy from traveling and weird food. When I look for comfort food, one of the cuisines I almost always resort to is Vietnamese. Actually, when looking for food of any sort, I often resort to Vietnamese! Unilocal led me here. If it wasn’t for Unilocal,I might have backed out of Andy Nguyen’s because the parking lot definitely looked shady and the restaurant was empty. Whatever. I sat down and a nice lady whom was the manager(and possibly owner) came and brought me tea and a menu. I liked that there was a wide spread of vegetarian options but there’s no vegetarian phở, which was disappointing since I wanted comfort food. I decided to go with another classic Vietnamese comfort dish: claypot fish with brown rice. The food came pretty quickly and it was the perfect sized portion for one. The claypot fish was savory, sweet with a little kick, rich and warmed me all up inside. I was pretty happy with it. At $ 10.95 for the portion, the price was pretty reasonable but you do have to pay extra for rice and tea. I am probably not too likely to wander over to Rancho Cordova again but all in all, I was happy with my meal. If you’re looking for Vietnamese food in the area, this is pleasing to the stomach. 3.5 stars

The Imperial rolls are SO yummy. We also had spicy prawns, curry beef and ginger chicken. It was all great. I love that the food wasn’t overly sweet which is so common these days. We also didn’t have to ask for chopsticks(or forks if we were so inclined). I hate when you have to ask. Real chopsticks too, not to go wooden versions. The place is clean and the service was prompt. Nice people. Good food. We will come back when we are in the area.

Imagine yourself walking into a Vietnamese restaurant and realizing that it looks like a diner that was last updated in the 1950’s. Andy Nguyen’s restaurant literally looks like an old dingy, outdated diner from the 50’s … but don’t let that fool you into thinking the food isn’t up to par. They have a full vietnamese menu ranging from your phở, rice dishes, noodles etc. I walked in and the server/host was really nice — also spoke fluent English without an accent which made ordering very easy. He was polite and attentive. Food came out pretty fast. There was no one there on a Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm though. I ordered a rice dish with grilled chicken and egg rolls(~$ 8). Great Deal! It came with the best tasting brown rice ever, deliciously flavored grilled chicken, crunchy egg roll + delightful sweet fish sauce. I devoured the entire plate and was a very happy camper. It wasn’t ridiculously high in MSG because I would have felt horrible the next day! Overall, I’d come here again for the food. Yes, the parking lot and restaurant look dismal, but that just makes this place a more wonderful ‘hole in the wall.’

The service level at this restaurant is excellent! 5 stars!!! The employees are courteous, friendly and attentive. For food, the overall rating is 4 stars for what I have tried so far. Vegetarian Rolls(5 stars) Tofu Rolls(5 stars) Mixed Vegetables and Tofu over Crispy Noodles(5 stars) Sautéed Shredded Vegetables over Rice Noodles(4 stars) Sautéed Tofu with Lemongrass(3 stars) Small Fried Rice(1 star) The dishes that need improvement would be the Sautéed Tofu with Lemongrass and Fried Rice. The Sautéed Tofu with Lemongrass was flavorful, but the lemongrass was not prominent because I could not detect the flavor or aroma of the lemongrass. The Small Fried Rice I ordered was bland and not worth the $ 2.95 they charge for it.
